He strode over to the worktable beside his desk, unrolled a large scroll of parchment so that a rectangular surface was exposed, then reached for one of the eagle quill pens, which he dipped in ink and placed on its side across the bottom edge of the parchment.

"Locato Teddy Lupin!" he called out.

Immediately, the pen jumped up and moved over the paper, drawing a map of the city where Teddy was. Though he did not care much for the city as a rule, Salazar could not allow Teddy to be there alone in his current, regressed state. Once the charm ended, the quill returned to its holder and Salazar cut the map from the scroll. He studied it. Yes, he could find Teddy there. Ophion hissed something at him, but Salazar was too focussed on the task at hand to attend to it.

He marched from the library and Summoned his travelling cloak, opting not to raise its hood lest he frighten Teddy. Then, with both the location from the map and his memory of Teddy in his thoughts, he Apparated from his castle with a loud 'crack.'

Moments later, he found himself standing beside a tall building which reached up towards the sky. He looked around, frantic, before finally glimpsing a small barefoot boy in a crude 'toga.'

"Teddy?" he asked gently.

Teddy had one the heavy coats he had found inside of the building wrapped around himself, and was sitting on the shiny silver stairs leading up to the third floor. Currently he was on the platform to the second story, wiping his eyes. His small, round face, red from crying, had dark blue strands of hair glued to his cheeks, and his gold eyes were bloodshot as he peered through the bars down to him.

"How do you know me?" he asked quietly, pulling the far too large of coat around his small form tighter. For all his tears and fear, he sounded surprisingly brave, like he was trying very hard not to cry and to appear tough, fighting to keep out the desperate edge to his voice that was struggling to rise. Giving him a water smile, he rubbed harder at his face, thick black lashes glittering with moisture. "You look like a Jedi."

Salazar's heart panged to see the same competent wizard who had visited him days before now as a child, lost and afraid. "I am Salazar," he said in the same gentle tone as before. "We spoke through your journal. I asked you what a 'Yoda' was." He smoothed down the front of his black travelling cloak. "Do you recall? I told you I would come to you presently." He smiled. "And here I am."

I don't keep up with my journal for a couple of days and this is what happens?...If Master Slytherin didn't say otherwise I'd say it was one huge joke Rose thought as she tugged on her clothes. She had been distracted lately, and when she idly flipped open her journal while sitting down for breakfast, she certainly didn't expect to see Teddy's child like script on the page!

She nearly had a heart attack.

Fortunately Master Slytherin was going to him, but she couldn't stay away either. Teddy was like her own son. Heck, Rose probably liked him more than her actual son; although, it's not like she and Michael ever really got along...

She was dawdling. Rose apparated to Teddy's building in the city and looked around. She spotted Salazar first and hurried over, a little anxious.

"Master Slytherin?" she asked as she walked to him, "have you seen..." Rose trailed off and stared at the blue haired boy. "Teddy..."

Teddy was about reply when another person ran up, who also seemed to know his name! Pressing his lips together, Teddy burrowed into the coat and stared down at them with wide eyes, wishing he had his teddy bear there to hold onto, instead of clothing and a sheet belonging to some strange person. And he was cold. And these people were strangers and he wanted his mamen and papa! Swallowing as tears filled his eyes again, he scrubbed at his face once more, his hair shifting colors with his mood to a deeper blue.

"You are Salazar, are you Salazar's wife?" he asked, looking to Rose. "Were you in the journal too?"

"Salazar's...er, no, dear..." Rose replied, glancing at Slytherin before smiling up at the frightened boy. "I was in the journal, too, yes. I'm Rosi. We won't hurt you, okay?"

Physical and mental age regression...you couldn't make this stuff up.

Rose had many questions to ask, but the important thing now was to see to Teddy.

As Salazar watched Rose speak with Teddy, he considered the options. He could return Teddy to his flat, but unless there was at least one adult there to tend to his needs, it would serve no purpose. Rose could take him to her residence, which might prove less intimidating to him. Then again, he might well find a castle a far more enjoyable place to be for the time being.

Salazar covered his hands with his sleeves, clasped them in front of him and approached the stairs where Teddy sat. "Would you like to come to my castle?" he asked. "We can leave a letter for your relatives, if you wish, telling them where you are."

Teddy looked unsure, even though he was cold and scared. Part of him wanted to declare that he could do fine, and he didn't need adults, because adults were stupid anyway. Another part of him desperately wanted back into the flat to try to hide under the bed until someone came home. But what if bad people had already gotten him and this was a bad persons place? But what if these people were bad people? Where was Harry?

His mind was made up for him, however, when he heard a noise behind him. Turning to peek back, he froze in utter terror as he saw the eyes of a rat staring back at him.

Screaming, he scurried down the stairs, bare feet smacking against the metal grate, and threw himself into Salazar's leg, as the man was the closest adult. Crying, he held onto him tightly.

"Don't let it eat me!"

Gently, Salazar reached down and patted the top of Teddy's head with the palm of his hand. "There, there. It shall not hurt you." With a gesture, he Stunned the rat into unconsciousness. I am certain it will make a fine meal for one of my serpents, he thought. The rat floated threw the air, and Salazar slipped it into the hidden pocket in his cloak, so that Teddy would not have to see it.

He looked over at Rose and smiled slightly. "Would you please write the letter for his relatives?"

Looking down at Teddy, he made his decision. "Can you tell Rose which apartment is yours, so that she may place the letter under the proper door?"

"Yes, of course I can..." Rose said as she fished for some paper. "Don't worry, I know which one." She tried not to shudder at the sight of the ugly rat (she hated them too, embarrassingly enough). Horrible, ugly things...fat tails...ugh.

Rose managed to find a piece of paper. "Is there something you would like for me to tell them, Teddy?" asked Rose as she scribbled a message.

"I don't know who you'd tell," he said, and stepped his light weight onto one Salazar's boots, because the ground was cold and his feet were bare. He was the kind of skinny that came with boys who ate a lot yet never stopped moving--all long and still short, with a slightly full face and bony limbs. Looking up to Salazar, he held his arms up for him with a little pout, wanting to be picked up. The movement caused the large jacket to fall, and the sheets around him were tied and tucked in different places, a few areas roped off with what he could find in the house. It looked like the clothing was about fall off at any moment.

"Can we go back in and get the Darth Vadar mask?"

Salazar lifted Teddy up and held him so that Teddy's side rested against his chest. "Of course," he said as he started to climb the stairs. "I am quite curious to see it." He cast a Warming Charm on Teddy and Transfigured the makeshift toga into a navy blue robe. "Which apartment is yours?"

"Darth Vader mask..." Rose muttered as she followed. That name sounded familiar, actually, but from where...Rose plucked up the jacket and folded it over her arm. She knew how particular Teddy was about his clothes.

She placed the note on the door and looked around the apartment.

I wonder...is it a sickness of some kind? Do the people affected have something in common?...

Teddy pointed to where Rose had put the note; the door on the very side of the building, up the three flights of stares to the top. "That's where I came out of," he said as they climbed up. When they got the door, he waited until it opened and then squirmed down from Salazar's arms, running into the flat. The white carpet was still pristine, but the paint set that Teddy had up in the corner was everywhere, and the glass front of the building was lined with child sized painted hand prints, and designs of dogs, "Darth Teddy" and murals of wizards chasing each other with light sabers. The TV, nearly as tall as the wall, flat paneled and hanging perfectly, was, as always (even when Teddy was an adult) playing some scene or another from a show he was obsessed with. This one was the movie Serenity, as River Tam duked it out with Reavers, and there was evidence that Teddy had been mimicking the movie.

Feet print even covered the glass coffee table top, and the couch looked like the arm had fallen off from where a spell hit it awry.

Though the painting in the corner was obviously in progress while Teddy had been an adult still. It depicted two wizards in a rather...compromising position. But it wasn't pornographic. One looked like a warrior, old style, a short trimmed beard on his face and wavy hair pulled back, beads and braids by his ear depicting his status as a general of a Greek army. The other appeared more...Roman in attire. Long black hair disguising much of his face, holding only sheet up to his chest, fingers resting on the lips of the other. It was only half painted, starting at the top, the rest below still a vague outline of a pencil sketch. So luckily any nudity that may have been present was not obvious.

On top of the kitchen counter was a regiment of potions that looked like he had been in the middle of making, the recipe beside it labeled with "Erris Assis"; a potion designed to assist people going through drug withdraws.

Teddy scrambled away from them, running into the bedroom. He emerged a moment later wearing the heavy Darth Vadar mask. He held in his hand a long, fake light saber, and walked up to Salazar.

Peering up to him, each breath sounded like it did in the movie. He then smacked the mans leg.

"Salazar, I am yo daddy."

Salazar was transfixed by the display of moving images from the flat rectangular object which hung on the wall. What manner of magic was this, for whilst he knew that Wizarding photographs moved and paintings spoke, these images interacted with one another in a way which seemed to depict a story. T'was as if watching a play performed by players who never addressed or involved the audience in any way.

His attention was only broken by a stinging pain from his leg. He looked down to find Teddy with some black monstrous mask over his head, a clear, red illuminated tube of some hard but unknown material in his hand.

Perhaps the tube was a part of the game, and if so . . .

"Are you now?" he asked. He reached inside his cloak and withdrew the twig which had served as his walking stick when he was blind. He Transfigured it to match Teddy's toy, but spelled it so that it glowed with a green light instead.

"Have at you . . ." He tried to remember what he should call the mask. "Darth Vader!"

Rose couldn't help but laugh at the sight. It was too cute.

"I remember now...Darth Vader is from a Muggle movie..."

She had never actually been inside Teddy's flat before, but had stopped by the building once or twice. She smiled at Salazar and Teddy and looked around, making sure to keep out of their way. Perhaps there was something to this age regression. Salazar said it happened on an individual basis, but what determined it...?

Rose glanced at the potions on the countertop, but the recipe beside it caused her to take a closer look. "Erris Assis...isn't that for..." She frowned and turned to look at Teddy as he played. No...that couldn't be. Surely it was for his practice.

Teddy squealed and giggled madly, then started to attack Salazar's sword with the abandon that only a child can possess, and a quickness just the same. "You will not get her, Luke! Princess Leia is mine!" he cried out, then shouted over to Rose, "You're Leia, okay?"

Salazar parried Teddy's swordplay as best he could, never having been a warrior. This Darth Vader, then, was some sort of villain who wanted to abduct a princess named Leia, which meant that this Luke was the hero bent on stopping his evil machinations.

My, my. What a strange reversal of fortune this was. Amused, Salazar battled on. "Never, vile fiend! You shall not have her!"

He began a counterattack, putting very little strength into his blows.

Rose dismissed the potions from her mind to think about at a later time. She smiled, amused.

"Very well!" Using a quick charm, she fashioned to buns and pinned them to the sides of her head. "Better, dear?"

Teddy laughed wildly behind his mask, which made it come out as ominous, low, and gurgling. He continued to fight, running around in circles around the older wizard, bouncing from foot to foot.

"You shall never able to win, Luke! For you see, I am your father! Join me in the dark side, and together we shall rule them all!" he stated. "And Luke, you cannot love Leia, because she is your sister, and that is just gross!"

Salazar tried to stitch the threads Teddy was saying into some kind of coherence: Darth Vader was Luke's father, which meant that he was possibly Leia's father as well, since Teddy had said Luke and Leia were siblings...

It was all quite confusing.

"I shall defend my sister against your evil plans, Darth Vader, and I will never join you on the Dark Side!"

How ridiculous it sounded. He, Salazar Slytherin, famed Dark Wizard, had rejected an offer to join the Dark Side and rule over others! Despite his best efforts, he started to laugh, slightly at first and then louder with each passing moment, until he had to stop what he was doing and rest against the wall.

Death had certainly granted him a much different perspective.

Salazar's laughter was infectious, and Rose soon found herself nearly doubles over from mirth.

"It would appear you've got him, Darth Vader! What will you do now?"

Teddy's nose scrunched behind the mask, and he was breathless himself, from both movement and giggling. He jabbed Salazar in the stomach; not hard, but enough to let it be known that he was the victor. "Evil will always triumph, because good is dumb!" Teddy declared. "The universe is mine!"

Pulling off his helmet, his hair, now a bright and light violet, poked up in every direction, his silver eyes glittering with tears, this time from laughing so hard. He panted, looking over to Rose. "Come Leia, for I am not the ugly Vader, and we shall be like pureblood wizards and marry!"

Rose giggled and wiped the tears from her eyes. She smiled and walked over to him before bending him over and kissing him on the cheek.

"Well, that makes all the difference! I accept your generous proposal!" She tried in vain to smooth down his violet locks. "After all, you are a very good match."

The jab merely set Salazar to more laughter, and it took him several moments of concerted effort to finally cease. "I concede, Lord Vader," he said at last. "You are truly the mightiest . . . Sith Lord to ever have raised a glowing blade against his foe."

With things much quieter now, Salazar watched Teddy and Rose and wondered what the next course of action should be. This place was familiar to the boy and maybe the familiar would be best. "Teddy," he said, "would you prefer it if I stayed here with you, rather than go to the castle?"
