FIC: Keeping Hold of Harry, SS-HP
Title: Keeping Hold Of Harry
Author: Rakina
Pairing: Severus Snape/Harry Potter
Rating: NC17
Warnings: Non con, set in Harry's 3rd year.
Summary: "Everyone from the Minister of Magic downward has been trying to keep famous Harry Potter safe from Sirius Black. But famous Harry Potter is a law unto himself. Let the ordinary people worry about his safety! Famous Harry Potter goes where he wants to, with no thought for the consequences."* Severus Snape is quite right, of course, so Dumbledore acts to ensure Harry's safety. *quoted from Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban.
Prompt: #2: Young Harry has to marry an adult for his own safety, and his new husband isn't about to be denied his marital rights.
Genres: Forced Bonding, Romance.
Beta: [info]hel_bee. Thank you so much once again, Hel.
Word Count: 22,582
Author Notes: Written for [info]santas_lap, to a prompt submitted by [info]snakeling. Thanks for the awesome prompt; I'm solely responsible for what I did with it.
Please note before reading: this story is fantasy, it is set in a magical universe where mad old headmasters can use forced bonding on children. As such, it's rather like an adult fairy story. It is in no way meant to be a reflection of the realities of rape or child abuse. Please read it keeping that in mind, and if you cannot, go and find something else to read that will suit you better.

ETA: I don't know why the link isn't working, that would be down to the mods, but here's an alternative to the story on Walking the Plank. Please read and review! Keeping Hold of Harry (on WTP)

I love it... I absolutely *LOVE* it. I am saving this for another read through later when I am not so rushed... but I wanted to post and say that I read and I loved it. I also read your Severus and Hagrid one and loved it as well. When I can, I will respond to it, m'dear.

But this one... just lovely. I love bonding fics... and it made me so happy! YAY! You are awesome! *hugs tightly*

What better praise can I give you than telling that only you can make me stay up to 3am to read this fabulous fairy tale! =D
This was the first time in one of your stories that I felt like twisting the old coot's neck for coming up with an bonding spell that could have ended very bad!

*brr* The entire piece had a sort of dark ambivalence to it that was really (fantastically) disturbing. You hit all the non-con buttons with a light touch. And the happily ever after that we're all waiting for, that never comes. It left me feeling uneasy and very off-kilter.

Nothing I would have expected, but well done!

I was so excited to see this today! Snarry goodness to read!

I have to admit that I was never quite sure what to make of Severus' motive. He always seemed just this side of untrustworthy with Harry. But I do think he really cared for Harry, at least that is what I am taking away from this fabulous story. Sev is a lucky man and he knows it! Who wouldn't fight to keep that?

Wow, I loved reading this. Harry's so young I thought it would be a turn off, but you made me love it anyway. I only wish it didn't have to end - I'd love to know what would've happened when Sirius showed up. Dumbledore is definitely shady. Also loved how the abnormality made Harry feel normal, even if nobody understands him. Thanks for the great read!

This was a bloody good read. I took my time and just let myself sink into this like a hot bath.

I love coersion. It's something that is not often seen in the fandom, and when it is, it's rushed. Your wedding night was wonderful and it seemed to go on and on (in the best of ways)

The aftermath, the possessiveness that Snape felt punched the right buttons again.

I've saved this to my delicious acct with all the tags that make me go "ahhhh"

I could read on and on and on about these two in this universe.

I have such love for compelled bonding narratives, and this one was a great read. Would love to see a sequel if you ever choose to write one.

I only slept a few hours last night because I couldn't stop reading this wonderful story.

I'm a bit torn between loving and hating your Snape. I'm still not quite sure of his motives. I loved that he got disturbingly possessive at times and yet he was somehow very caring. I truly enjoyed your characterization of Harry as well. His naivete and Gryffindor courage were a fantastic combination. And manipulative!Dumbledore is always a great bonus ;)

Forced bonding is one of my favourite kinks, and you really hit a home run with this story!

"..."They'd torture you; pull out your fingernails or something. Snape will only protect you."
"Yeah, and kiss you," Ron said, less than helpfully...
"

Yes, Ron, cos I can't imagine there'd be that much difference between the two either. :)

Damn you do a fabulous 'first time'! Don't know that I enjoyed it, exactly - chan is a bit squicky for me - but it was wholly believable. Their reactions, doubts... Dumblydore being a manipulative bastard. I have no doubt he knew precisely what the bond required. It's fortunate that Severus is a man of honour cos otherwise it could've been nasty.
Excellent work, Raki.

This was wonderful! The most perfect first time ever written, IMO. Snape was IC even when he was being nice to Harry. I also liked Harry's naivety. I like how you included a few stray thoughts from the other characters without any real POV shift. Nicely done. Of course, I love Snape's possessiveness and Harry's responsiveness. And I like how you continued the story beyond the first time sex. This was such a grand fic!

I have a soft spot for forced bonding fics and you handled this one well. Harry came across as very young and innocent, and Severus had that bit of darkness that made you wonder what his motives might be. Dumbledore was his usual manipulative self, though I wondered at times if he was fully aware of Severus' actions.

I kept wanting Sirius to show up just for his reaction to the bonding! Ah well, gives me something to imagine!

Awesome fic. I love how you captured Harry's innocence even at that age. There were a few times I was yelling at him to wake up and ask more questions.

My co-workers must think I'm a nutter.
