St. Margaret's: the OOC Community

This time of year is always crazy busy for us all, so don’t worry if things slow down. They do every year and pick back up again in January. Have patience for your fellow players and if you have any urgent or pressing questions about characters or what have you, message the player directly. Otherwise, feel free to Drop Box us or shoot us an email: missmenidesknowsitall@gmail.com. We’ll always get back to you!

With January approaching, we’ll be doing a little bit of New Years cleaning of the cast/player page. 🧹 If you or your character haven’t been active in the last, say, two months or more, you’ll receive a courtesy email inquiry about your continued interest in the game. If we don’t get a response or you agree that you’ve been inactive too long and it’s time to call a spade a spade (heh), we’ll include it in our cleaning efforts. Everyone who makes activity before January will be exempt, of course!

Upcoming fun events for January and February include our annual Polar Bear Dive, the Secret Admirer Valentine fundraiser, and keep an eye peeled for our developing game plot! Hints are dropping weekly. ;)

It’s almost time for everyone to go home for the summer! But not everyone... And that’s the point of this. Mani here will be staying. I was wondering who else would be? Though it’ll be hiatus time, at the least I’d like to establish who he might be hanging out with, who he’d be befriending, who’d be rubbing him the wrong way, etc. And I would be open to threads here and there to help establish all that. I’d also think that others would also like to know who’s all around with their characters at school. So who’s staying in Maine for the summer?

I've been dealing with writing essays, so I apologize for my absentness/slowness the last week or so! D: But in other news, St. Margaret's group at the Battle of the Bands is performing HERE and could use some reactions from those in attendance!

Why should you care? Because their lead singer got his butt in trouble and now who is taking the lead? Oh, that's right, Davian "Call me Papi" Rivera, that's who! Give some love to him or Alicia or Dom or Adri or Liam or them all as reactions, preease! :D And we will have a special encore posted too!

Hello everyone, this is Chrissie. Khush and Cris are both on hiatus, so you know what that means?


Just kidding.

But not.

OK. So, if you are unfamiliar with the game's Easter Egg Hunt (which I think most of you should be but I am gonna cover all mah bases), you would know that player participation plays a key role in the Easter thread. Normally, the thread determines which house will win the hunt by how many of each house participate and the number of tags involved. The House that wins gets to decide the theme of the spring formal (which is next month, y'all!) and it's kind of a big deal, ya know.

HOWEVER, this year something goes horribly awry! An ambitious standard witch from Kitsune wants to win bad. So bad that this witch uses magic to try to steal eggs (which is legal in the hunt). Ideally, the eggs would've ended up at Kitsune house. Unfortunately, the spell backfired in a horribly amusing way: All the eggs will end up at Hydra house. If you know Hydra, you can see the humor behind it.

So if you tag, your character can start to notice that after a while, their eggs are vanishing. They can accuse other houses of stealing or whatever they may cook up for why it's happening.

So, I've been dealing with PhD applications, and they're a bit of a nightmare because it's a lot of emailing and drafting and forms. I'm also in England, and while they had Black Friday here, I somehow missed the ball on getting my stupid brain to put up something for Natália. *facepalm*

The holiday season is a lot of cash flowing around, and as a greed demon, Nat wants that money! So she'd have been keenly listening to other students (and continues to listen to other students) who express a need of extra funds. Maybe they want to get something extra special for that extra special person! Maybe they saw a great deal for a video game or some clothing? Whatever it is, she'd offer to loan people money.

Any individual wanting to borrow would have to sign a contract, which seems generally harmless. It would list the money loaned and she would give a run down of when they would start paying her back, interest rate, and so on. However, those interest rates are high, and there are clauses about being able to use force are hidden within. All is fair to an extent, but sometimes fair isn't really all that nice. She would've started this when students started buzzing about Black Friday deals and holiday shopping.

So basically, I'm looking for people who may have gotten into or will get into contracts with her. Only students would be aware of this, and it could go down one of two ways: Nat is the one offering the loan or the student hears about the loans and approaches Nat. So hmu here if you are interested in getting your character tangled in a contract with a demon. ;D

P.S. The only people who know Nat is a demon are the staff and Davian. The latter is sworn to secrecy on it through a promise.

Sooooo I need a dude. Sasha is ~growing up~ and his demonic nature is going to start making its presence known over the course of the year. Right now I haven't really done much with it, but what better time to rouse those half lust demony feels than Halloween, amirite?

Anywho, I really just need a guy he can be a little suggestive towards. It doesn't matter whether it works out well or badly or awkwardly, I just want to get the ball rolling.

I promise there will be no restraining involved. Unless it's consensual.

So Aktamun accidentally helped everyone get souped up for the day: everyone who was in the dining hall during breakfast, has been doused in a magical mist that makes you mellow, relaxed and spacey for the day. A magical high, if you will. The effects should wear of, the day after.

Quickie posty for information's sake: Van ate half a human, oops. And the Headmistress had to intervene. So he's serving detention in the dungeons for a while. Prob two weeks max.

Dungeon detention is what happens when students lose control of their supernatural side and cause harm to others, whether they be other students, staff, or the norms. It's meant to have them think about what they've done while being mostly isolated from the rest of the population.

The dungeons are actually quite comfortable. Each cell has a bed, a rug, a desk, and all the books needed for school assignments. They're usually also allowed (depending on the severity of their crime) to have their computers, so network communication can happen. There are bathrooms and showers down there and their meals are brought to them as needed.

At the end of dungeon detention the student will have an interview with the Headmistress to determine if they've learned from the ordeal. Ms. Menides knows it all, and if she feels like there is still more the individual has to learn, then back into the dungeons they go.

It's used very sparingly and only when the student has become a danger to those around him/her. It's considered the most severe detention punishment the school gives out, the next being full expulsion from the Academy.

Van is pretty horrified by what he almost did and is keeping it on the ~downlow, though his absence in classes and around campus could potentially be noticed enough for students to inquire if they're up to it. Ms. Menides made sure to give him visions of potential futures if he ever attacked a human again, and it included a very gruesome death of his friends by his hand-- Er, hoof. So. He's been properly lambasted.

I am so pumped for this game to be starting up again. That break was needed and I feel ready to go. :D So, here's a summer update. I'm going to do a little explaining but gonna keep it brief because I probably have too many characters of reasons.

Lucia is a tiny faerie a lot of the time, armed with a camera* that can show the ~real you~ via a magic enchantment her Magician friend put on it. Meaning if you're a were and she takes a picture of you with this enchanted camera, you'll show up as your animal self, not your human self. In addition to this, she is snoopy and endlessly curious, as is her Faerie passion. Therefore, what has she heard??

If you have some juicy gossip about your character or that your character has said about another (even NPC), and a tiny wasp sized Faerie may have been nearby to overhear, let me know! Lucia will be divulging secrets to Gil for a price and probably Wendy for free.

Total, the school raised $1,007 for the Camden Homeless shelter! Pegasus House proudly presented the check to the shelter and the shelter, in return, wrote the school a big thank you note.

Remember that dead body found in December by the police? Well, that wasn't the last one. In fact, another was found a few days ago, too! And now, the police showed up at school, and Jae went to the office. Ruh roh . . .

This is all part of a plot I have going for Jae, and I would love to get people involved in it. Not just reacting to it either! Because reacting is a'ight, but getting involved is more fun, yeah?

Characters will know that 1) Jae went to Mr. Cavanaugh's office and 2) She will not be in classes for an undetermined amount of time. Cressida will contact the staff about Jae tomorrow to discuss what to tell students if they ask about Jae.

Now, onto getting involved. There's been two dead bodies, and one found by Lucia. Jae is missing. I'd LOVE for some students to maybe start looking into the matter. Two (Davian and Kana) know that Jae is a kumiho, but others don't, and those that do know her would know she isn't the type to go cray and start killing people. If you want to get involved with that, or think your character would get involved, please comment below.

If you play a teacher, I have a specific scene I would like to do. If you want your teacher present, I'd appreciate your presence. Preferably if the teacher is a human, but others are welcome. If you want to get involved with that comment below.

This plot, if anything is more Jae reacting than other people reacting, so if you can/want to get involved, please do!

So yes. Things happened and it caused me to not have time until now to actually get to a few things that were supposed to happen. One of these things is the audition.

In the past I have asked for the people auditioning for the play to do something, but that leaves out so many people I've realized; therefore, today we will be doing something a little different.

I would like to see what all of the people not in the play can do in support of the person they want.

So the game will go like this. The people auditioning will need to put up their best picture/gif arguments for them being the best choice, and then others will be invited to respond to each of them with their own gif/pic that expresses their approval or disapproval of the person for the job.

Finally, Felicity will make a visit to the OOC community to give her own opinion of who should get the parts.

So, I totally blanked on Friday and forgot to put something up for the comedy night, and I apologize for that. I am especially annoyed with myself because I think we all (or at least me) were looking forward to Haylie's stand-up routine.

Halloween is on Monday! And with that, the school is gonna be celebrating, and there will be an official IC post with all the Halloween festivities around the school.

Until then though, let's talk costumes and possibly scenes, yeah? :) So let's maybe figure out who wants scenes and also who is wearing what, so we can reference the costume if we can't get involved in ALL THE THINGS! :D

So we're all still dealing with the wedding, but as that will eventually wind down, we have a new thread up, and it's a PARTY THREAD, y'all!

It's a big festival type of thing, as you'll read, and so there's plenty for your characters to do if they do show up. Alex spared little to no expense in making it something that most people may regret not going to! Some will not care, but wev, you're missing out! XD

Anywho, I figure I'd set up an OOC if anyone wants to set up threads. Open threads are awesome for random interactions, but you can always avoid the nail-biting waiting of tossing an open by posting here with what your characters are doing if they're at the party! Just a thought.

It has hit the fan, so to speak! The family that has cast out the angel we know as Ambriel has made an appearance at the wedding. And they're not kidding around! They have just attacked the wedding party and they're going after demons - though, witches, vampires and other things condemned by the bible as unholy should not feel particularly safe either.

What does this mean?

Yes, but what does that mean?
You're Your character can  get involved in fighting these flying zealots, or they can run (or help their classmates get to safety). The angels are fairly strong, armed with blades and light powers, but they are not invincible. All I ask is that you do not interfere with Ambriel, Davian or Brother Nikolaos, for Personal Plot Related Reasons. Otherwise, go nuts! Angels that are reasonably close to losing will disappear with a flash of light.

Since we have a bunch of new players, let's recap before delving into it! This Saturday, Ambriel and Davian are going to get hitched! #huzzah

This match was made about three years ago. While the demon and the angel were first fierce antagonists at first, their preoccupance soon turned to passion. Ambriel, despite his many flaws, had always believed in redemption, even for demons. Davian, while at first simply wanting to knock Ambriel of his pedestal, began to love this angel that believed in him. And so, it began.

After kidnappings and interfering brothers, after fights and battles, they still persevered. And so, this spring, Ambriel popped the question.

The wedding is on Saturday, the ceremony taking place on the beach. The entire school is invited, so it's up to your character to decide if they're there or not. A few alumni characters will be coming back as well.

Of course, a wedding wouldn't be a wedding is something went wrong, so... Be prepared. Someone might speak up, because they won't forever hold their peace.
