| About: | The Power Company (hush) is a BDSM community group based in Boulder, Colorado. The group was founded in 1980. The community center is a comfortable, nice building near the center of town, accessible by a keycard given to members. Inside it's a normal social club. There are chairs, tables, couches available for sitting and conversation. Finger foods and a bartender in the evenings. The Power Company hosts munch parties Wednesday evenings at a coffee shop several blocks away. The official host rotates among members of the club who volunteer. The Munch parties are, of course, open to anyone and word travels through word of mouth and a discrete website. To be invited into the club and to any parties, however, a new person must have an invitation issued to them by a member of the club. That member is then responsible for their behavior inside of the club until they are accepted as a member. Decide who you want to play. This is tricky. The game is set in the real world: no reincarnates, no super human or supernatural characters. If a character is from a canon that is set real world (House for instance) the character can be played. Reincarnated characters with their past lives ripped out are accepted. No real people. Decide on an avatar/PB. Go here, make sure they're not already in use and make a claim. X: This is a closed, invitation only community The group holds munchs regularly. For more information about munches see here. All members and guests must be 18 years or older. Members are responsible for the behavior of their guests, and any new members they are sponsoring. Respect the privacy wishes of other members: no outing other members or revealing their participation in the club. Wear street legal clothing to munches. No sex in any public areas of the club. Pre-arranged demonstrations in meeting rooms are permitted (and happen on a regular basis). Social D/s behavior is, of course, permitted in all areas of the club. Sex in scening rooms is more than fine. Don't break into scenes, verbally or physically. Ever. Don't stand inside the swing of a whip. You'll get hit. And deserve it. Don't interfere with a couple. Ever. Touch is a funny thing. Levels of formality vary. This may even include things like shaking hands, depending on the parties involved. When in doubt, ask or keep your hands to yourself. Inside the public areas, try to maintain calm and relative quiet. Anxiety is contagious and loudness is just jarring. People come to the club for peace, and you never know where the member's heads are. Knocking someone out of their 'space' will likely get you soundly chewed out, lectured or asked to leave the room.
