[Dim light filters down from the arena’s heights; not so bright as to leave the ruins of buildings more than shadowed silhouettes, not so dark as to keep you from finding your way down, and down, to where a single flickering torch lights a broken courtyard.]

[The Call that resounds from the Arena is loud, echoing even to every part of Sabra. A regal crescendo of notes and then anticipatory silence. Should you follow it today, the Arena is not any landscape you have seen before...

Simple darkness fills your vision, no delineation of up or down, walls or even the floor. You can only see the throne in the far off distance, and three pathways each covered with a lush carpet: Green, Black with white trim, and Yellow. They bear the sigil of a hydra, a skeletal snake and a club embossed into the weave. Should you turn around, there is no exit yet, but there is a small table, filled with punch, and several large party platters filled with cold cuts, olives and the occasional odd vegetable.]

[However, should you follow any of the pathways, the landscape begins to change...]

[River's not on his patrol pattern this time! Looks like he's tapping his sword against his shoulder and carrying a thick block of paperwork. He also has a tiny in black next to him, wearing a mask.]

[There is fresh fruit waiting on the table for Hydra today; a pair of oranges and three peaches! We are living in the lap of luxury folks. Scowl is at the table considering them.]

[By the point that all the memories are laid down on the table, it is a fairly good bet that all the blankets have been stripped from every bed in the angerdome and possibly those of Vulpecula to wrap around the soggy, wet Hydraculans.

The shark, for his part, has gotten as close to the kitchen fire as possible without being IN it, and arguably sharing his space with the cave corgi.]

[The Call to the Arena today is the simple sound of hammer on metal. Rhythmic, tireless it's almost a marching tune to those who happened to hear and follow it.

When you enter the Arena bare land quickly gives way to drifts of snow and barren, snow-striped trees. The further you go in, the deeper and deeper the snow gets. By the time you can make out the broad, grinning statue on the throne between gusts of snow laden wind, the snow chest-deep on most.

In the center, at the statues feet are two very welcome things at this point: Fur wraps of some unknown white animal large enough to drape around you and a metal pot of hot chocolate and several ceramic cups.]

HA HA HA! Bit of an effort wasn't it? I had to get your blood pumping for this one! Everyone warmed up?
