Week 1: Complete! [
]

kikithepirate
Hey guys!

The first week of [info]rpwrimo is at its end! I thought it would be nice to have a little check-in post, just to see how everyone was doing.

So comment here with your word count so far, and also if you feel comfortable, link to some of the logs/narratives/drabbles you've written this week! ♥

I'd also like to throw out there that it makes me really happy to see how much a lot of people seem to be enjoying the process, and I know that I'm absolutely loving reading all of the things that people have been doing in my games. So anyway, comment away!

RPWriMo: Day 2! [
]

Hi, writers! Just a reminder that RPWriMo officially kicked off yesterday! Hopefully you guys all got some good logging, narrative writing, or drabbling (whatever, it's a word now) in!

If you're interested in keeping track of your writing in your CDJ on a cute little progress bar, go here to get one! Thanks to [info]chthonian for the link.

As a reminder, you should plan on averaging 1,000 words per day in order to hit 30,000 by the end of the month. Obviously on some days you write more and on some you write less, but that's a good goal to keep for yourself. I'll try to update this community with prompts and ideas as the month goes on, and please feel free to do the same!

Have fun!

EDIT: Also, if you happen to write narratives, drabbles, or logs of which you are exceptionally proud, I encourage you to make a post in this community with a link and share it with everyone! Nothing wrong with a little inspiration. :)

First Post! [

Hello, everyone!

This community will serve as the official RPWriMo community. Obviously, this is our own invention -- an opportunity for writers who WANT to push themselves in a NaNoWriMo fashion, but would prefer to do it in their own way!

Here are the basics:

1. The word count goal for RPWriMo is 30,000 words. This is significantly lower than NaNoWriMo, because RP inherently involves the participation of others. There's a significant amount of waiting for people to tag logs that needs to be taken into consideration. For this reason, we felt that 30,000 words was a much more manageable goal.

2. Anything you write for a character counts toward the 30,000 word goal. This includes (but surely is not limited to):
          - Logs (The words that YOU write, obviously, and not the entire log)
          - Narratives
          - Backdated narratives
          - News articles, blog postings, etc.
          - Phone conversations (again, your sections)
          - Drabbles. These generally involve another person's character, but are often very useful in character development.

3. We are not counting comments or text messages, because, by nature, these things are short and purely conversational. Plus, who really wants to count up every single comment thread that they participate in?

4. Feel free to use this community to share drabble prompts or relay your experiences and ideas! You can also post when you've hit your goal -- and of course, there will be individual banners made for everyone who completes RPWriMo!

5. Please feel free to ask any questions that you might have. This is a work in progress, so we're happy to tweak things as necessary.

6. PROMOTE RPWRIMO! Because RP is collaborative, this will work better if lots of people participate -- more people to log with on a daily basis! Please feel free to post the banner at the top of this post in your own journal, and link back to [info]rpwrimo!
