Community Rules

This comm is open to anyone to post codes, layouts, resources, tutorials, and requests for help and content. Of course, we do have some rules, so please read through them before jumping in; thank you!

■ Treat others the way you'd like to be treated. This is not a drama comm, and we expect you guys to be awesome and stay civil. If a situation gets out of hand, please contact a mod, and leave comments intact so we can accurately handle the situation.

■ Please tag your posts and check out the tagging guide if you have any questions!

■ Very long posts or posts formatted with your own div styling for organization should be behind a cut to save people's f-lists.

■ Work safe above the cut, please!

■ If posting codes, guides, etc. absolutely do not post content that you did not make. That's stealing, and it's super uncool, bro! If you are posting expanded/edited codes made by yourself using another user's coding as well, please be sure you have their permission (You do not need direct permission if they allow edits to be re-posted in their blanket rules.)
■ Do not post tutorials/links to tutorials that show people how to steal codes from other users. Again: Stealing. Not cool.
■ When asking for help with something, please check the help tags (help: coding, help: graphics, help: icons, help: layouts, help: other) first to see if your question has already been posted and answered to avoid duplicates.

■ We do not allow game ads to be posted on this comm since there are so many communities specifically for that already; if you're pimping a game as an addition to a regular post, that's fine. (OK: You post an RP code and mention in the post, oh hey, also I'm running this game! NOT OK: Posts dedicated to game promo.)

■ We do allow other types of community promos if they are related to RP (icon comms, other types of resource comms, etc.) Just shoot us a comment in our dropbox beforehand and we'll let you know if it's cool to post!

long time no post! and it looks like this one is a bit timely XD i've been meaning to share this instagram gallery code i've done like...ages back, maybe around august last year? but i never got around to doing it so now i'm paying my due and putting it right here for everyone's benefit ♥

now for some inevitable notes!

  1. this code actually makes for a nice cast list! here's mine if you guys are looking for ideas. if you'd like the code i used for my cast list (if you notice, it has some functioning links), pls get in touch with me and i shall send it over! ♥

  2. as you might observe from the code, this doesn't make use of the image tag. my intention for using div backgrounds instead is that it allows me to use the background-size:cover; property. meaning if you don't have time or you don't know jackshit about image editing, you can just look for a picture of any size (for maximum effect, make it larger than 290x290) and plug them in.

  3. the default orientation of this code is center from the top. for more options, pls refer to this. if you prefer my assistance, pls get in touch with me and i'll whip one out as quick as i can ♥

  4. here's a glossary of replaceable texts:

    • [profile pic url] - the url for your profile pic (in the live demo, it's this

    • [username] - your instagram username or whatever kind of username you want to display!

    • name - i mean the one under [username]. basically your nickname or first name, etc.

    • optional profile/quote/lyrics/thing. - self-explanatory

    • ### - basically a number lol

    • [image url] - the url of the photo in the gallery (in this live demo, the wild animal, the books, the cars, the city, etc)

    • [alternate text] and [title text] - i always make it a habit to include the alt and title tags in my images and in the absence of any printed captions in this code, you can use this!

  5. the 'load more' obviously doesn't load more, lol. in my cast list, i linked it to my dropbox.

  6. for that matter, this is not an exact copy of the instagram gallery but it's close enough!

  7. i realized i didn't leave any line for credit bc doing so would ruin the effect i think? so it's up to you if you want to credit me! ♥

  8. pls be courteous towards your friends and put this under a cut, it's a huge code ♥

  9. images used for demo are from unsplash.com!
