Community Rules

This comm is open to anyone to post codes, layouts, resources, tutorials, and requests for help and content. Of course, we do have some rules, so please read through them before jumping in; thank you!

Treat others the way you'd like to be treated. This is not a drama comm, and we expect you guys to be awesome and stay civil. If a situation gets out of hand, please contact a mod, and leave comments intact so we can accurately handle the situation.

Please tag your posts and check out the tagging guide if you have any questions!

■ Very long posts or posts formatted with your own div styling for organization should be behind a cut to save people's f-lists.

Work safe above the cut, please!

■ If posting codes, guides, etc. absolutely do not post content that you did not make. That's stealing, and it's super uncool, bro! If you are posting expanded/edited codes made by yourself using another user's coding as well, please be sure you have their permission (You do not need direct permission if they allow edits to be re-posted in their blanket rules.)
■ Do not post tutorials/links to tutorials that show people how to steal codes from other users. Again: Stealing. Not cool.
When asking for help with something, please check the help tags (help: coding, help: graphics, help: icons, help: layouts, help: other) first to see if your question has already been posted and answered to avoid duplicates.

We do not allow game ads to be posted on this comm since there are so many communities specifically for that already; if you're pimping a game as an addition to a regular post, that's fine. (OK: You post an RP code and mention in the post, oh hey, also I'm running this game! NOT OK: Posts dedicated to game promo.)

We do allow other types of community promos if they are related to RP (icon comms, other types of resource comms, etc.) Just shoot us a comment in our dropbox beforehand and we'll let you know if it's cool to post!

Hey guys! I was just talking with a friend about Tumblr's news of banning mature content and we've been seeing a lot of strangely non-mature content being flagged, and it brought up the issue of the future of images.

I have absolutely no confirmation for this, so please take me with a grain of salt here, but there's realistically a good chance that the gifs and other images you use from Tumblr in your layouts, bios, etc., could wind up deleted, especially if they are something Tumblr deems adult in nature or are flagged for review and mistakenly deleted if the original poster is no longer around to contest it.

My point: You may want to rehost images that are important to you to use in your layouts and other RP materials if you're using Tumblr URLs, or save them locally in advance in case the URLs end up broken in a few weeks time.

Yeah, I usually do, but I definitely have some older layouts and aesthetics codes that use tumblr URLs haha. (Welp...)

I was going to tell you about a fix for broken Tumblr URLs that involves not having to search down the image again, but I went to grab one of my journal gifs to show it to you and it leads to a 404 now even though the image still shows in the layout so... I'm not sure, but seems like It Has Begun.

Anyway, this may or may not still work, and it's likely an entirely moot point at this stage, but with image URLs from Tumblr you can (could?) remove the first number subdomain from the URL, so if it said http://68.media.tumblr.com/etc you could remove 68. and it would right itself. I'm sorry you're getting this tip only after it probably doesn't matter anymore LOL.

Oh, I'm sure that despite my more recent decision to do this, that there are still definitely layouts that link to tumblr and it's going to show up and I'm going to make the angry emoji face at them, lol.

But that's a good idea, and if I got to the image at least it could be saved and put elsewhere, I'll keep it in mind and I have no doubt that it probably WILL come in handy.
