.the city never sleeps.

In December 2010, it began. New York City was the epicenter and gods and mortals of bygone days were drawn there. Shadows of their former selves, not all remembered who they were and none knew that their lives had become playthings for Khaos.

In March 2012, following who knows what manner of tug of war (because it is always, always a game), our gods and goddesses, our nymphs and our angels, our mortals and, yes, even our mythical animals were returned to New York City.

They do say it's the city that never sleeps. It is only natural that the city's puppet-master never sleeps, either.

You can try to break the cycle but whether you're Odin All-Father or Zeus Thunderer, whether you're a Queen of Hell or a Queen of Sparta, you will fail. Settle in, instead, and learn to roll with the punches.

Applications open; 8th (23:59 EST) - 16th (23:59 EST) every month.

Mythopoeics started in Dec. 2010 over at livejournal! For previous events, shenanigans and such please look over at our livejournal communities.

About this Entry
[info]metemmods:

They are all there. Waiting to be found and filled by you. All of you, or as many of you as you can find. It's a race to the finish, godlings. And whoever finds their homeland first. Wins.
"And here is where we differentiate the men from the boys. Who's got the balls to take the reins."
--Poseidon
"I had hoped that mortality may finally remove us forever from this game. Regrettably, I was mistaken."
--Hades
"Chaos ruling just seems paradoxical to me."
--Seth
"...we are brave, resourceful, clever, and more than competent enough to regain the glory of Asgard."
--Sif
"I know my duties and will not forsake them."
--Tyr
"Good thing it's not me, in any event. Leaders never get to have any fun."
--Dionysus
"...if you think the others aren't scheming against you right now, you are sadly mistaken."
--Medusa
"A few red herrings or deliberate misinterpretation of the clues given will provide enough of a wild goose chase..."
--Ariadne

The race has begun.
Whose team will you join?
Who will reign victorious?

X-PROJECT: AN X-MEN MOVIEVERSE RPG

Top Ten Reasons for Joining XP

1) We won't shut down five minutes after you've been accepted. Begun in May 2003, X-Project is one of the longest-lived RPGs on Livejournal and we're still going strong.

2) No character too obscure or too popular! Check out our active characters and our list of socks available for applications for an idea.

3) We're the best of both worlds. X-Project combines the wackiness of forty years of comics canon with the modern realism of the movies to create a gameverse with a life of its own, where the science (and magic) makes sense and where X3: The Last Stand and X-Men Origins: Wolverine don't exist.

4) We have something for everyone. With four teams, a disaster relief program, college politics and an NGO, plus a whole world to play in, there's something of interest, no matter what your preferred genre.

5) You can: go into space; destroy a city; defeat Murderworld; be the last man standing; or destabilise a country. Trust us; if you can dream it up, it can be a plot.

6) Everyone knows your name. With a small and friendly playerbase and only two character per player, you'll never be lost in the crowd. Also, we have players scattered over five continents, so there's always someone online!

7) You can come back from evil and still have friends. Join those who have been possessed, gone evil or succumbed to the power of evil genetics!

8 )You too will know the power of the DOOMTHREAD! With email discussions that have spawned their very own nickname, you can procrastinate your work/school/chores/etc indefinitely.

9) We have the pretties! Check out the fanart! Lots of opportunity to play with Photoshop!

10) We're all as weird as you are. 'Nuff said. :)

11) Bonus Point! We're the only RPG that has its own in-house band! Check out the Harry's Hideaway gig, recorded especially for the game!

About this Entry
[info]yegods_mods:

NYC, 2012— These days, no one believes in the existence of gods like Zeus or Odin. It's about as crazy as believing in magic. But hidden amidst the rush and bustle of the city exists a subculture regular humans have no idea about: demi-gods. In the demi-gods' world, it's not uncommon to find oneself trapped in a book, facing down the undead, or going toe-to-toe with pyro-happy angels. But what they don't realize is that something a lot bigger and badder is heading their way...

[info]yegods is a modern fantasy roleplaying game inspired by White Wolf's Scion setting and Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson series. We're a small plot-driven, log heavy game with super friendly players and a lot of activity, so join today! Join us and experience the adventure, intrigue, and excitement of Ye Gods!

X-PROJECT: AN X-MEN MOVIEVERSE RPG

Henry - better known as Hank - McCoy was one of the school's original students, and left to form an illustrious career as a scientist. When an experiment went horribly wrong and accelerated his mutation, giving him the appearance of the Beast of his codename, Hank sank into depression, nearly killing himself on several occasions in attempts to find a cure. Eventually brought out of despair by his friends from the school, plus colleagues such as Moira MacTaggart, he resumed his career, returning periodically to the school to act as the mansion's inventor and doctor, as well as an X-Man. It was during one of these sojurns that he adopted the son of one of the students, Danielle Moonstar, fulfilling a life-long dream to become a father. With fellow doctor Madelyn Bartlet, he found love, and eventually the couple moved to Edinburgh to raise Billy in a safer environment and further their careers. Hank returned briefly in 2009, but again the conflict between family and duty left him torn. When Billy became seriously ill in 2012, he returned to Scotland.
