S2 Layer Codes

I recently found several LJ layer codes that compiled without errors when importing to Scribbld. Head on over to this tutorial by [info]wastintime to get installation instructions.

I don't have a paid account here on IJ, so no guarantees if they'll work on anything other than Scribbld.

Scribbld, PUBLIC Skype Chat, DeviantArt

Firstly, there's a work around to accessing Scribbld's admin console. Sometimes, they have a weird re-direct back to their main page, when clicking a URL/or directly entering the console. This works fine now [weirdly]. But in the events that this happens, you can try making a button for it, that links to the console.

Confirming, that the friend add does work here.

Secondly, there's a way to make Skype-Chats public. For those RP Groups that aren't AIM based and seeking another client.

First step: is to make the Chat. This only works if you're the chats CREATOR.
Second Step: type/paste the following in the chat window.

/set options +JOIN_ENABLED
followed by /get uri

You can set other options as well, like when people join but they can view only the chat (read only mode) until you make the member of the chat.
But I've found it doesn't really work so well. :/

You'll be given a link, which you can pass around/link to on your web page.

Thirdly, is there a way to promote DeviantArt based groups? Would you guys know anyone interested in that sort of thing? I'm trying to get my rp group going - and i'm having a bit of trouble gaining watchers/followers/members. :[ I've recently had talks, that apparently the best way to encourage people to join is getting a SuperGroup account. But I really don't want to have to spend so much (60US just for CSS is steep. No thanks!).

FYI: For those on Scribbld

If you happen to be using my Flexible Squares import (aka layout id # 1200), you now have the option of offsetting the year on your posts. Go to Customize Journal -> Customize Theme -> Display -> Presentation -> Additional Options (it's the first one) and enter your year offset. If you want to see it in action, go here: http://www.scribbld.com/users/mynameisjonas/

The offset defaults to 0 if you don't set one. You're welcome. :)

Note: I will be editing more layouts on Scribbld in the coming days.

IF ANYONE WITH A PAID ACCOUNT ON IJ IS INTERESTED IN THIS TWEAK, LET ME KNOW AND I WILL EDIT THE CODE FOR IJ, TOO.

Custom View on Scribbld :: EDIT

So a recent post asked how to replicate this, a customized style page on scribbld.net. They are useful for things you don't want to clog up your journal with and you can put just about anything there.

Note: This can be done in much the same way on LJ and IJ, but you must have a paid account to do it at either of those sites, thus all the links and notes herein will be for Scribbld.

EDIT: I later found a way better tutorial that has images, located here, however I've left the code that I used to make my page in this post (which is a simple table that looks like this) for reference.

Codes Under The Cut )

The code above only gives you that basic, green table I made. Again, THIS POST is the recommended go-to for creating a CustomView page on Scribbld.
