[info]standconfounded

I just got a new Mac, and I can't find the screencap program that I used on my old one.

Does anyone have any good suggestions for screencapping?

Screencap Community?

Is there a community or journal that posts screencap resources? I have a lot of time on my hands and I recently screencapped Les Mis, but I don't actually make icons or graphics of any sort. I was only doing it to be helpful in requesting icons. Since I do have the time, I was wondering if there was already a place where I could screencap things people might want or if there were people willing/interested in iconing the movies/tv shows I cap?

Alright amazing people!

Does anyone have any tutorials on how to cap movies? I've used my caps before for icons but they always end up a lot worse than when I use ones others have made but its so useful to do at times.... So help?

Edit: As far as I I've set everything up the way it says in the tutorial I found when I got the program. I use KM Player too if that helps.

VLC Screencapping [Solved]

I've seen a few questions on how to screencap videos posted here. I even viewed this tutorial and downloaded an older version of VLC in order to complete the tutorial. However, I'm still stuck when it comes to changing the "Video output module" to "Image video output." Even though I downloaded an older version (1.0.0) I don't have that option. I'm trying to screencap a few music videos in order to make icons, so any help here would be appreciated.

BIG THANKS TO [info]ckletricity! Finally got an even older version of VLC to work with screencapping.

I was wondering if I could get some help with my screencapping programs. I've tried using both VLC and KM Player and I set everything up just like the tutorials here and here say (I even downloaded that version of VLC), but I still can't get them to work. VLC only opens my DVDs when I don't check the option to skip the menu, but then I don't have a screen to play the movie; when it does "screencap" the menu, the "caps" are blank jpeg files. When I try to set up KMP to cap, it tells me either the program can't work at super speed mode, or there is no KMP transform filter.
