So, I saw this going around Tumblr and even though it isn't 100% roleplaying related, a good number of people here have Google accounts and this is pretty terrifying. (Mine had logged search results from as far back as 2008.)

In a few hours, new policies will take effect at Google, endangering your privacy.

Tech publication Gizmodo reports, “things you could do in relative anonymity today [like your web searches], will be explicitly associated with your name, your face, your phone number come March 1st.” And this applies retro-actively if you don’t act today.

USERNAME PURGE! Usernames that have been inactive since January 1st, 2010 are being purged. This post is devoted to ... basically anything related, I guess. You can also reply to this comment if you'd like to give away names or something.

Rename Your Account: Where to go and instructions for how to rename your account.
List of Your Usernames: If you're trying to figure out which screennames are yours, you go can go here and enter your e-mail address. A list of screennames associated with your account will be sent to you. Then, you can log in unless you have one of the usernames I want and update or something so it won't be deleted.
Wayback Machine: Doesn't always work, but sometimes if you want to access a page of an account that's been deleted (like one of icons), this will pull it up. There are some alternative sites here.

Icon Requests: Need icons/want to provide icons from a purged icon maker's account? Do so here!
Deja Click. If your passwords are all the same, you can record your actions from entering your password, reactivating your account, and signing out on and it it will save you all that clicking. All you have to do is paste in your username.

Helpful Info
For asylums: if you find an asylum that is inactive and you would like to take over maintainership, open a support request as there is a process to handle this.
LJ-Login. If you are using a cookie manager to switch accounts, it is likely that you aren't triggering an event like typing in a username/password would cause your account to be counted as active.
