Table Codes
I was going through my game's codes out of curiosity/boredom and though I realized that I took most of our codes from here and modified them due to my own laziness, I have a couple I made myself of which I'm fairly proud, even though they're simple. I figured hey, if anyone's interested, might as well contribute. :)

Both codes are Harry Potter-specific, but could probably be modified to fit other games, especially the first, which is a Hogwarts class schedule for 6th/7th year students only.

When making this table, we decided first of all that all 6th years would have classes together and all 7th years would have classes together. This is done because in the books, (read: Harry's NEWT-level Potions class in HBP), classes seem to consist of students from every house in whatever proportions were the most convenient. If we wanted to really go for accuracy, we'd offer each class several times and take class sizes into account (like they do real class schedules in college/high school). This is certainly doable, it'd just be more work. You could do that with this table, but instead of just having, for example, Ancient Runes in the Monday 9AM slot, have Ancient Runes A, Potions A, and Charms A, and keep up class rosters for each of the classes, offering more sections of classes that are "core"-type classes like Charms, Potions, and Transfiguration, and maybe only one or two sections of "elective" classes like Arithmancy and Muggle Studies.

This would be awesome, if you're a real stickler for accuracy. I, on the other hand, am a lazy fuck, and decided that a 28-person NEWT Charms class was A-OK with me.

One other thing about this table--Divination and Arithmancy are offered at the same time. We did this because it was the neatest way to offer each class for three hours a week, and because both are about telling the future, so it makes sense that students would have to choose one method.

tl;dr - I am lazy and some classes are bigger than others.

Without further ado, code!

My other code offering today is a taken characters list. The thumbnail shows the table with some characters taken and some not taken (to see a live example of this, click here), but the code underneath is for a completely blank table.

At our game, as at many next-gen games, we set the names of characters before the game even began, assigning five students of each gender to each house/year. For your sanity later, if your game is set up like this and you're going to use this table, it's probably best to fill in all the character names, obviously leaving the ? image, the [info]charajournal, and the pb name bits. This way, when you're updating later, you can just use ctrl+f to see where you need to put in your image and information, and you can keep everything sorted by alphabetical order, House, and year, if you're OCD like that (I am). The ? image is uploaded to Tinypic, feel free to save and upload to your own server. You don't need to credit me or anything.

ALSO this is my official cry for help (see, I bolded it, I am very serious). The only thing I dislike about this table is the Ravenclaw section. I am well aware that the colour combination is horrific, but I really, really want to use blue and bronze, to stay true to the book colours. However, I cannot for the life of me find a blue and a brown hex code combination that look good together and also vaguely like Ravenclaw colours. If anyone knows of one, PLEASE share, and I will update this post and my game accordingly, and also give you a million and one thanks.

...man I blabber a lot. Code below. :)

If you feel like crediting for these, that's cool; if not, that's fine too. A linkback to rp_tutorials in your profile/whatever is probably the best way, because that way people can find these resources for themselves, and this comm is one helpful awesome place. :D

Possibly, keeping your original blue because it's pretty, the bronze could be--

Also, your tables are really pretty and simple! I like it. :) Scheduling is so hard, so I admire those who do it all logical and stuff.
