I... have a question. I'm not really sure what kind of question it is, or if it belongs here, but I figured this would be the best place to ask.

So, I'm slowly putting all the pieces together to start up my own game. The layout is finished and installed and looks just fine on Firefox-- but doesnt work at all on Explorer  (which I knew from the beginning, I just got distracted by how much I loved the layout). But is that okay? Most people use Firefox, from what I hear, but should I still make it accessible to those that use IE?

The layout, by the way, is by the super amazing [info]splott and is HERE. And here's the journal I have it customized and installed in: [info]zoombag

Thanks so much for your help! And very, very sorry if this isn't the right place for this kind of question.

icon question!

i have no idea if i can even ask this here, but since i've been wondering for a while and i figure some fine people here might know, i might as well give it a shot!

what i'd like to know, is how to make icons like these lovely ones. from what i can tell, if it's photoshop they're using, it's a little more complicated than just gaussian blur > darken, etc. but even playing around, i haven't been able to figure it out!

i'd really appreciate any tips. i'm usually a diehard picnik user since my laptop is slow enough as it is, but i'm always looking for new ways to make icons. and while we're at it, what about these?

thank you a ton in advance!
