Alex was distracted. That had more or less been her permanent state since Jacob's body had been discovered - distracted. So much for a relaxing vacation to get away from the stresses in her life. So much for escaping from everything in Patagonia. Somehow her trip had been flipped completely upside down and she'd managed to end up in the middle of a murder investigation. Well, wasn't that perfect.
The night before had been a restless one, and she didn't really get much sleep - instead the vision of Jacob's face was swimming around in her head. She'd hardly even known him - just online, after all, and they'd barely met before he was killed. So why was she having so much trouble with this? Sitting at an open table for lunch, she stared at the menu but none of the information there was retained. Soups, appetizers, entrees, it was all swimming in front of her, and none of it really made sense.
