Coffee. Coffee and mystery would be what kept him awake. Sleep was forgotten, even if it had only been a few hours. He had more important things to do, make progress in a case that was already steeped in rumor and gossip. It was only expected, Salto Chico (truthfully, nearly all of Patagonia) was decrepit of scandal such as this; it was a quiet area of Chile, few mines, less people. It was a recluse even for the often forgotten country. Now it was a buzz with a murder of an American tourist and it was his soul job to solve it. Upon coming up the night before he done as much as possible at the physical scene but now it was time to talk to those involved. Since it was such a limited space it was likely the murderer was still in the hotel, which meant everyone there was a suspect. Starting with those that had last seen the victim. The priority of which were those that had been on the riding tour Mr. Jones had gone on the day before. The same riding tour lead by a Ms. Addie Morales; the first person on his list to talk too. With a hand brushing down his suit jacket, files under the arm that held his life-giving coffee he entered the room he'd asked to have prepared for him for this very purpose. He gave her an amiable nod as he shut it behind him; "Ms. Morales, coffee? I am sorry to pull you out of bed so early, but I'm sure you've heard the conundrum we're in, yes?" |
