|Exhaustion was high for the Detective that was used to more mundane crimes in his years since transferring to Chile. Gone the night before with little sleep, a murder case that most definitely had his full attention (but was still keeping him up till the wee hours of the morn'), he was desperate for a moment to rest his eyes, if only for five minutes. (Which truthfully was going to be close to the truth, he had a feeling.)|
Douglas had been given a complimentary room for the investigation and he had every intention of using it, but not tonight. Tonight he had other plans to indebt his weary body. Long ago had he stopped feeling massive guilt about his lover; but then, it had been a long time past that he had given up his conscience; an affair was hardly the darkest stain on his black soul.
Douglas was nearly sleeping on his feet by the time he got to the well-known staff quarters, even more so as he knocked and then leaned on her doorframe, head wanting to droop down to fall, cradled by his shoulder.
