[If there was one thing James was grateful for, it was long missions. Back home he pushed his team to go on fights for several days before taking a few days break before going back at it. Even if Ultron was gone, the threat of its forces still remained. Thankfully though, back home, the rest of the survivors of the United States and Europe were starting to fight back. Other countries that hadn't yet fallen to Ultron were joining in finally. James couldn't fault them though. It could have been an Ultron trap. But that was then, or will be, and he was in the past. Present. Whatever. Time travel was tricky. James had suggested going back in time and having past!Hulk rip Ultron apart and the pieces being thrown into the sun but Tony had begun rambling about all the different problems of time travel and then paradoxes.
James was concentrating on the now though. There was another invasion of the Marauders and, after getting some coffee and a quick bite to eat, James was feeling fueled up and ready to go. Once they were in Boston he couldn't help but pause to take in the sight. This was one of the places where America had first fought for it's freedom. And seeing this place, in it's glory, reminded James of how much rebuilding was still left to do back home. And like hell was he going to let these pirate bastards sully more of America's historical cities.
Tugging his shield off of his back, he began heading for the Massachusetts State House. He had learned enough history to know that the dome was covered in 23 karat gold. If these alien bastards wanted precious metals, the dome would be a good place to start. He hated he couldn't fly but Torunn was up above with others. They could stop any ships from carting off with the entire dome which meant that foot soldiers would come to try and take it. And James was ready.
When the first wave began James fought tooth and nail with his shields, showing off how skilled he was at using them both at the same time. When the first team of the Marauders failed James took the small breather he was given and took a few sips of water from a small flask to stay hydrated before he heard the next wave coming.]
It's going to be a long day...
[He kept fighting as the day wore on, using the lulls to take whatever break he needed, food and water, bathroom, just a plain old breather, whatever. In bout five, James was taking on a particularly strong and powerful Marauder. He kept fighting though, refusing to give up. He hadn't given up with Ultron and like hell he was going to give up now. Not to mention his father never gave up.
But the slashes from the Marauder's claws got past his guard and he cried out in pain. He fell to the ground, bleeding from the wounds. He flung his left arm towards the Marauder and watched as the energy shield sliced through it's neck, beheading it. He dropped his arm as the energy shield disipated.]
