Re: Fenway Park, an hour or two into the fighting—Peggy/Captain America
[Peggy has considered the possibility of gathering all these civilians in such a public place as a bad idea, but split-second decisions needed to be made regarding the safety of the citizens of Boston. She isn't familiar with the city much at all. Not only in present day, but in the 1940s as well. A lot of her decisions are now educated guesses based on her military experience.
It isn't the best decision, but it is the best option at the moment. To her, it is easier to protect a concentrated group than civilians scattered across the city. Scared refugees and emergency workers fill Fenway Park to the brim, and S.H.I.E.L.D. and the National Guard are securing the area. It is a natural place for the Marauders to attack, if only to take more people hostage.
Peggy expects that, but that does not discount how cross she is about the situation. She is placed on the front lines, protecting the entrance and moving around the perimeter of the stadium. Her curly brown hair is pinned back, swept back and somehow still neat, and though she has scratches and bruises on her face and she looks more tired than humanly possible, there is a fresh coat of lipstick on her mouth. (She has, of course, her compact on hand. You never know when you'll need to look around corners.) Her red blouse has tears and stains of questionable origin across it, not quite in tatters but clearly worse for wear. Still, somehow, despite the war-torn look, there is an elegance about her not from the twenty-first century.
As she rounds around once again, rifle pressing against her chest as she ran, she comes across the Marauders piling up on something. It isn't until she shoots at their feet to break them up slightly that she sees who is underneath the pile. Mouth screwed up, she shoots again and again, at shoulders and heads of Marauders as she tries to break the wave of aliens attacking Captain America. Her eyebrows are furrowed, and her prim British brown eyes concentrate sharply on her targets. As she shoots at another's head, she moves in closer and closer to Steve and the aliens.]
