quicklog. logan & rogue
Who: Logan and Rogue
What: A quick history refresher
Where: Xavier's
When: after Logan's return
Warnings/Rating: TBD
[He had a lot to catch up with the Professor. A few decades of history, anyway, from 1973's sentinel strike to the present. He only knew the history he had experienced, and seeing as how everyone was still alive, his history changed a lot from the one everyone else remembered.
[Everyone had warned him that he'd be a stranger in a strange land if it worked, and they were right. But after decades with the X-Men, and his own shady past before, he was used to never quite feeling like he fit in.
[And now, at least things were better. He didn't mind getting a few weird looks from people who had been dead.
[But it wasn't to last. Before he could learn a goddamn thing since he drowned in 1973, he found himself back in the mansion. Back in this hotel world with a strange journal and a key. Had he been gone for twenty years here, too? He used his senses to catch the trail of Rogue, and he followed it. He thought she had died, killed by the things Trask had done to mutants to make the best Sentinels. He had seen her fleetingly at the mansion in the real world, but he had to see her again.]
[It was questionable whether Rogue was going to be happy or sad that Logan finally remembered because it was a bitch to try to explain all of her hang ups. She could still remember that she used to like the school and that she used to (somewhat) trust other people. But it had been a while, a lot of things had happened and that had all changed. And she was left trying to explain all of it without going into too much detail.
[She found herself wandering the mansion, jumpy as all get out, even though she could flatten a semi truck with her fist. Super strength hadn't served her well with Trask's goons so she didn't rely on it here.]
[Logan was in a much better place to understand Rogue's attitude now, but since he had survived through the alternate world, he was annoyed that Rogue couldn't have remembered the good version of events where she hadn't been tortured and the mansion overrun. That would have made his life too easy, though.]
Rogue. [He said gruffly when he finally saw her down the hall.]
[Rogue had been worried sick about Logan when he'd disappeared. Of course, she hadn't mentioned that to anyone. She didn't trust anyone. Except for the person who'd vanished. Who was she supposed to tell? In her mind, there was always the chance that they were responsible for Logan's disappearance.
[So, no. They weren't options.
[Needless to say, it startled her when she heard Logan's voice. And, for a brief second, she forgot that she needed to be suspicious. That, maybe, this whole time had been a trap. An elaborate one, but a trap all the same. And that she'd been fooled into thinking this was real when it wasn't. For that one single moment she was simply ecstatic to see Logan.]
Logan? You're okay -- you're...
[That brief joyous light in her eyes went out a moment later, and she was unable to keep her eyes from narrowing suspiciously.] Where have you been?
