Marvel: Stark Towers; Avengers
[The second attack had turned into a third, then a fourth and before the fifth could happen, Thor returned to Midgard. He could not be in two, or even three places at once, and no matter how many generals he could appoint there was still only one alive who knew the Asgardian army as he did. He'd have to be watched, but it was past time that Loki left Midgard. He had given his word for the end of the month and that had passed. No more. It no longer dripped from the ends but stuck in both the loose strands and those that had been weaved tightly into braids. More blood decorated his armor and the head of Mjolnir, mixing with dirt and rock dust that had stayed with him since Nidavellir, lingering along with the scent of smoke and death. He set down hard in front of Stark Towers amongst a glowing red circle of Nordic knotwork, the light of the Bifrost catching on the loose dust knocked free by his landing. It was time to get his brother and take him home.
He strode forward.]
