Re: Jack's Cabin: Ashleigh D/Jack R
"I was actually on my way to visit you and surprise you with a picnic when I got, well, for lack of a better word, stuck." Ash gave him a grin, one shoulder shrugging up, the corners of her eyes crinkling in amusement. And then he had to go and compliment her. Ash's life had revolved heavily around her son, and even though she didn't regret it in the slightest, it was nice to have attention paid to her. Her smile softened by several measures and she met his gaze for a long moment before nodding her head in response. "Thanks," she said after a moment, ducking her head as he held the door open to admit her into his cabin.
She was soft steps and careful movements, looking around the place that had just started to become familiar to her before everything changed. It was good to see Jack again, someone who didn't judge or expect anything from her more than what she was willing to give. "You don't have to put anything on," she said as she turned back towards him, the backpack that she had over one shoulder sliding down her arm, heavily laden with treats. "I brought lunch for us, actually." And then there was a pause. "If you have time, that is. If not..." She trailed off with a bite of her lip, uncertain.
