Re: Corner Couch: Jason/Banner
Jason and Stephanie didn't see eye to eye on some things, and Eddie was one of them, whatever good things he'd seen the man do and however solid his reform appeared to be. But that was neither here nor there. He wasn't going to miss her wedding. He just wasn't. He might feel uncomfortable in a suit, and strange being there when there was so much strife in the family and he could see Damian across the room, but he was still going to be there regardless.
It was a nice ceremony, or it definitely seemed nice. He could only think of maybe one or two other weddings he'd ever been to, and never as a real guest, so it was a strange, normal thing, being a part of a wedding party. He had picked up a suit from a rental place, but his did fit him, and it was of halfway decent make. The last suit he'd worn was the one they buried him in, so he didn't exactly have one sitting in the closet.
He arrived at the reception and picked up a drink, a rare vice for him. It was a special occasion, though, and this event was going to need a little softening around the edges for him to get past the crippling idea of 'mingling' with people. Then he saw Bruce, and with a clear indication of 'oh thank god' in his speed, made a beeline for him.
As he drew closer, he started to see just how dejected the guy looked. He was sitting alone, with a glass of water, staring at nothing and waiting for the night to be over. He might not be too enthusiastic himself about the prospect of a party, but Bruce looked positively miserable
He dragged one of the plush chairs closer and sat down hard, keeping his drink, miraculously, steady, not spilling a drop. "Are you usually this much of a social butterfly?"
