Locked to those at Xavier's Mansion

I've been told that many of you here have recently gained abilities from some sort of pulse. My name is Ororo Munroe and I once taught at Xavier's school. I would like to extend my services in helping to teach you how to control your new powers if you wish.

Captain America, Public

[Locked to Captain America]

[It's deleted repeatedly, but someone is going to ask eventually and she'd rather just have it done with.]

I'd rather chop off my fingers. I owe you an apology.

I'm beginning to hate the sight of orange juice.

News: Gotham

[Sunday, Mother's Day, Gotham citizens begin running into the local ER. A highly-decorated officer in Gotham PD, a man on the board at Wayne Enterprises, a high-ranking government official, a lawyer, an elementary school teacher, a man that runs a taco stand, a teenager from a local boys' home, a girl from a local orphanage. They all show up with precisely the same injury: One severed thumb. And none of them will say how the injury really occurred. Most of them claim kitchen accidents, but none of them have the thumbs available for reattachment.

After Sunday Mass, all of the missing thumbs turn up. They're delivered to the local television station in a box labeled, simply, Donovan. And, yes, it would seem that every last non-thumb bearer is on the family's payroll. The story runs on the news, and the Donovans are asked to comment. None of the victims, of course, are talking.]

x mansion, jack's room: luke/jack

[Luke was waiting. He wanted to see Jack, but he wanted to give him space, too, the memory of what he'd looked like in the facility, and how he'd acted, still fresh in his mind. Oh, he wasn't afraid. That wasn't it at all. But he was worried, and he didn't want to make things worse. Hence the waiting. He hung around the mansion, though he hardly intended on settling in. No, he had a home. But he wanted to get to know the place and he wanted to see his friend; both were pretty good reasons to be there, in his mind.

He was casual, outside on the roof, when Max found him, and he wasted no time in following her lead to Jack's room. She left him outside, in the hallway, and he only hesitated a moment before knocking and pushing the door open, just a little.] Jack? [He poked his head through the opening.] It's Luke.
