He tilted his head at the first words she offered, the simple statement that she wasn't the one who killed him. Maybe she thought he was out for vengeance for his father's death, but that wasn't the case. Elliot, he hadn't really known the man, just known of him, and he hadn't even met him, not once that he could remember. So that emotional attachment wasn't there, nothing worth killing for, at least.
"Do you miss him?" he asked after a moment, meeting her gaze, unmoving from where he stood, letting her approach him, step by step. There was no danger to her, not if she remained as she was.
