Re: Dream: Selina & Tony
"Do I want... what, the lives?" He shrugged. Tony did not have a death-wish. He was careless with his own safety, reckless and thoughtless, but he didn't go after death with a wayward will, the way some people did. He didn't even do it for the adrenaline, which some might theorize held additional draw. "I only really minded that time when I got all sappy with my will." Sigh. "That was stupid." He glanced around the cave. "I hadn't done any of that this time. I was still invincible."
Long stare. "Catch." He wasn't going to give in.
"Maybe once or twice," he answered evasively. "It's true. You'll see, one of these days." For a scientist, Tony didn't feel much compelled to justify his opinions on such things.
He stopped smiling, and caught her hand. His grip was firm, and he took her elbow and wrist, too. The spicy scent threw him, but only slightly. He had one arm around her shoulders as soon as he could get away with it, drawing her deeper into the cave as he stepped back. His voice acquired a note of panic. "I didn't say we die. I said you die. No. No, we stay." Tony looked at the red suit that had appeared in one corner. It came together in joints and pieces. It watched them both with lightless eyes.
