Re: jurassic world: selina/steph -- escape
[The kitty cat? She'd done the hiding thing. She'd done it for a very long time. She'd shut off the world and everything in it, and she'd sought refuge in a door where she could swashbuckle and not think. It had helped at the time, but it had been a momentary thing, and hiding here? Hiding here would be the same.] You don't want to stay stuck here. I've done something similar, and you just have to deal with everything and everyone once you're back out. And you do have leave eventually. Better to just do it, kitten, build a scab that sticks. [It wasn't the most positive bit of advice, but it was practical, it was survival, it was very Gotham.]
I don't think I'll be going back to Gotham.
[There. She said the words. What was there to go back for? She'd have to make up ground with the mobs, re-earn her place on the streets. None of the rogues trusted her anymore, and the bats? That was a laugh. Without Bruce? She didn't have a place, and that stung, but it was true. And the kitty cat preferred truths. She ignored the blonde bat's little question, the one about not knowing what Bruce's problem was. It wasn't a problem, really. It was lack of interest. She was much too far down on the ladder of significance to bother with, and she'd rather not be bothered with at all if that was the case.
No, she wasn't planning on going back to Gotham. But she was a fickle kitty, and that could change in the swish of a tale.
She touched sweaty fingers to the kitten's cheek and, honestly, the kitty cat was tired. It happened sometimes, since Robert and the radiation, and she just wanted a hot bath and a nap. Marvel. The penthouse there was clean, and she could sleep without anyone bothering her.
Then, she tugged on Stephanie's arm.] Come on, kitten. It's time to go home.
