Re: jurassic world: selina/steph -- escape
[Selina stopped when Stephanie said she wished it was that easy. Nothing was easy, and didn't they know it? Once upon a time, a good run on a rooftop had been able to soothe the kitty cat's ruffled fur, but those runs on rooftops didn't happen anymore, and Selina wasn't sure she'd even know how to get back to being that kitten she'd been once. Going home wouldn't do it, and she knew that better than she knew anything. Marvel wouldn't do it, and this Gotham wouldn't, and that left her stranded, and she didn't like it. If the world could just rewind, go back to February, but life didn't work that way, did it?]
I thought what bats did best was judgmentally look down their noses at everyone else. [That was lush, teasing, and the chuckle that followed made it obvious Selina was joking. But a deep breath came next, and Stephanie was squeezing her fingers. Selina? She squeezed back.] It's hard, isn't it? When they stop calling, wanting to talk, wanting to see you? [Oh, it was time to face facts. And the blonde bat? She'd been left behind, just as surely as the kitty cat had.
Selina shook her head, even as Stephanie wrapped arms around her middle. The kitty cat started walking again.] No. It'll take time, but he'll fit in. He's Damian. He'll fit in.
