Re: jurassic world: selina/steph -- escape
[Bruce hadn't actually offered the information up, because getting anything from Bruce these days was like pulling teeth with her fingers, no tools and only tugging. But she'd asked, and he'd made sounds of concern, and she was learning to interpret this Bat using even fewer words than in the past.
It didn't mean she liked it.
As for Selina, she had no idea where to turn. Gotham (and the bats) they didn't feel like home now, not since Babs and the whole world turning on her overnight. She'd learned a hard lesson then; her standing? It was all about Bruce Wayne, and with Bruce gone? She stopped fitting in. And maybe it was a lesson she should've learned a long, long time before, but it had been a little hope, maybe, and now that hope was gone.
She was stuck. Home, and she'd need to be a rogue. Marvel, and it would never feel just right, and she wasn't really feeling an in-between. But she was glad Damian was back, and she was glad Stephanie was talking to Bruce, and she was glad Jason had his family, and she was glad Dick had returned. However much she didn't belong? She still knew the batfamily belonged together, and maybe that would happen now.]
How about no aliens, and no vampires. [Selina grinned, because she knew they wouldn't get a choice. After all, when did they ever get a choice?
She eyed that log, and she considered flipping over it, but she was much too tired in the end, and she clambered and made the turn toward the edge of the forest and the docks.] You can try. She's older, and it might be alright. You could adopt one of your own, see if it helps. One of Jay's kids, if he gets them back. I know it's not the same, but it might help two of you in the end. [She let the idea sit.] You never know.
