Yeah, they do that. Keeps going a real long time, family told me.

You might not want to go telling people you've got a kid home, honey. Folks on here aren't always nice. Some of them are sour, some of them are just damn evil. Babysitting's something you want a background check and good references for, not some magical shit that has doors opening and closing on their account.

He's getting towards that point where he doesn't like to listen to a word I have to say. I think school made him too independent!

Yeah, I know. His daddy's one of the bad ones, and I'm still not sure that he's here or not. Might be trying to tempt him out or something. And if I did find someone on here to sit him, I'd be sure to check them out. But seriously - thanks for the advice. Sounds like you have one of your own?

Might be, or are? And what do you plan to do if you do? Because unless you've got someone standing at your back who has a plan on what to do if his daddy shows up and wants to know where his kid is and get involved, you're screwing yourself over, and your kid. It's not something to go jumping into on a whim. If he's real bad, not something to jump in on ever, unless you've got a way to go disappearing. And it might be hard to look anyone here up legit, given the hotel makes up our lives half the time.

Okay, I am. But I'm beginning to think that he's not here, which is probably for the better. And I've my brothers around, and no one but family knows what door I'm staying in. I've been extremely careful to keep that under-wraps. Though I should probably be more careful, now that you say those things.
