History Slash: How about those Fathers of Confederation
According to Will Ferguson's Bastards and Boneheads, the boat of delegates was loaded with cases of bubbly, and they spent the first weeks drunk and partying and trying to seduce each other's wives.

If they were REALLY drunk though, or maybe it wouldn't take even that, maybe they slept with each other!

I'm rather enamoured of the John A. Macdonald and George-Etienne Cartier pairing, they were co-premiers!

...and if Louis Riel was the romantic figure for French Canada, I think that John A. was certainly English Canada's;

So somebody on some comic forum thread suggested Louis Riel / John A. Macdonald, but nothing came of it...and how would that have worked anyways? Drunken one night stand at some dingy room above the bar? It'll make the ending that much more morbid...

I much prefer the picture of Cartier cuddling a drunken Macdonald on a cold Canadian night, every other night in winter.
