Christmas Cheer. The Decor of the resort has changed!

Due to a good bit of Christmas music being played on the radio, someone was feeling the festive spirit. And so it he decided that it was time to decorate. A dusting of white coated the ground, though surprisingly it wasn't cold like snow should be, beyond that it held all the other qualities that snow should have.

Much like the year before the pathways were lined with fencing and arches stretched, lined with lights, over head.

Trees were rapped in festive lights.

The fronts of the cabins, and houses alike, were also bound in lights. (Unless a request was made, by the owners of the house, for it not to be done. Make a note in this post. If individual decorations are added to mentioned houses please make note of them here.)

As were the backs of each.

Inside a tree nestled near the fireplaces, the mantle of each hung a stocking for each person in each cabin, or home.

The lone difference was: Anyone that dare sing a Christmas carol, for the whole of December it would be echoed over the whole resort, good and bad singers alike. The source of the amplification invisible to the naked eye.

Plot End!

As the clock chimed midnight over all of Ridgeway, the objects that were attacking stopped. Every inanimate object returned to being inanimate. Some falling to the ground with a clatter. By morning if anything was destroyed for protection. The were restored and returned to their previous homes. The things that were not destroyed would remain where they fell.

(OoC: This marks the end of the animated inanimates plot. If you guys wish to play in it a little longer just backdate it.)

Plot Start!

Having read over a few of the messages made by the people he had collected, he saw that a few had grown bored with the lack of action, with the cooling temperatures yet pleasant skies. There were a few that had their own little dramas to fill the lull between now and the last thing that had happened here. Now it was time for him to do something, to add a little twist to their lives once again.

With a snap of his fingers things began to shift, the guests sent back, with a brief apology and a promise to allow them to return and continue out their fanatic fantasy. As for his employees, those that slept were scattered safely, those who were awake would experience a brief moment as if they had blacked out. When they awoke they would no longer be within the confines of his beloved resort. They were now placed separately within the vast city of New York. The city that stretched across Staten Island.

The city would be as it is in the present time. Cars lining the sidewalks, shops stocked, hot dog vendor carts on every corner. The only thing different is that every single person that made up the over eight million strong population, would now be gone. Domiciles left as if the person had simply gone on vacation, or to work, yet every single being within it had done so on the same exact day, at the same exact time. The population was now replaced by the 59 people that made up his staff.

There were, what he considered, 'small' changes to the island, the vast bridges that linked the island to the rest of the country lacked a large, impassable, section from each. Each of the tunnels flooded, and anyone who knew the Hudson River would never dive into it's murky depths, even if it meant freedom. Those who could fly wound meet an invisible force field ten feet from the opposite shore, another reason no one would want to swim the polluted waters of the rivers that make up the city and island. The only exception being the two little islands that make up the delta, the two most noticeable landmarks before the trade towers had come down: Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty. They could be reached by boat, but nothing farther than the two. The boats, or ferry's, will die once they go past five miles from the farthest point of Statue of Liberty island.

He hoped each and everyone of them enjoyed their holiday in New York city. It would be the only time some of them would see it, and some it would be the only time they would see it decorated for the holidays. The large tree in Rockefeller Center, trimmed up and lit-at night. The Ice Skating rink ready for use. Just in case he would keep an eye on them. Should anything go wrong, he would return them back to the Ridgeway as if they had never left, all they would have is the memories.

Official Beginning to Soul Mates Plot!

James sat up straight in the wingback chair he had placed by the fireplace in his office. He had been awake most of the night because he could sense something was going to happen. He just didn't know what it was, but in that moment, he knew it had.

With Kaelyn having dissappeared once more, away from his domain, he had been enjoying the last week, but dreading this night. Someone was messing with his employees. His people. He knew it, so he sat up straight, concentrating on his people, trying to pinpoint what had happened. Then he saw it, clear on the wrist of one of his favorites, Dawn Summers. That was a band he had seen before, and he knew he would not be able to remove them. Hephaestus must have been circling his world and decided to teach these people a lesson. Only he or they themselves could remove them from thier wrists, but it was impossible to tell what would do it.

He sighed, and sat back in his chair, reserved to the fact he couldn't help them. There would only be one way to find out if it was indeed what he believed, and that was to wait for morning, when they would all awaken.

A little pinch of this, a little dash of that and the antidote to the truth serum was sprinkled into the water supply. By morning the water would be clean again, and slowly his employees would gain their ability to avoid the truth once more over the next day. It was so odd how they were so angry over the simple truth.

Though in the end some good things had happened, or at least he had hoped. Dracula was no longer 'Matt', though he had not been affected by the serum. Pike had told the small group of his problems, thus endearing a few to him no doubt. The legendary couple, Robin Hood and Maid Marian, had moved in together; he only hoped the close quarters would not alter their feelings for one another in a bad way, he wanted nothing but good things for the group. There were a few other little things that had happened. All in all the experiment had not been a disaster. He was happy with that.

(Ooc: The truth plot is officially over. Depending on how you played things your charries should go back to normal over the next day. I hope it wasn't too painful! <3 your mods)

Truth was hard to come by...

He often read the lies between his employees. It was hard to see them, and know that they weren't being honest with one another. There had to be something that could fix that problem. And instantly he knew what he could do.

After preparing the mixture, he took the short trip to the water source for the whole place. The whole of what he'd created was poured in. This would insure there were no more lies. No more unnecessary secrets. Everything would be put out into the open. Only then would old wounds heal, only then would friendships ring true. Only then could the clean slate begin.

(OoC: :D time for another plot! more description will follow)

Closing the portal.

Who: James Petersen
When: Midnight May 12th
Where: The middle of the lake
What: It was time to close the gate he'd opened.

He stood at the very end of the longest dock along the lake side. Expensive Italian loafers removed from his feet. Taylored trousers rolled up half his calves, silk socks removed and tucked within the shoes that sat on the dock. The reanimated corpses around him seemed not to take any notice of this man. James would not be their usual meal, thus he would not even register on their radar or senses... How ever they found the beings they hoped to feed on.

He had thought a stroll over the smooth surface might suffice, but with the dead floating about in it fowling up the water it was decided that that course was not the best. So instead he stepped down into the dinghy closest to him. Shrugging out of his suit coat he lay it across the dock, hoping that the dead would leave it be and not risk him having to dry-cleaning an Armani suit. Rolling up his sleeves he simply rowed out to the center of the lake.

He remembered a day when it was the most scenic point in the whole of the resort. Now... Now it spoiled by the stench of the zombies, the landscape painted with blood and other bits that he would rather not name. Closing his eyes he began to channel all his known power. He felt quite strong and very able to shut the tear now that he had rested.

Closing his eyes, he did not exert any strain, he simply focused on the tear he knew was there in the deep watery depths. As the portal began to close the waters began to glow, an unearthly blue, growing darker as the waters grew deeper. The glow grew bright enough to envelope the entire resort. Only the darkest of windows were left untouched.

As quickly as it shone, the light went out. With a great gasp his eyes snapped open. It had taken far more than he suspected... He felt them leave. He could name each of them.

Some had been there only moments, others had been there long enough he had grown quite attached. A sadness took him over, and like his mood gray clouds moved in. The rain started as a sprinkle, and slowly developed into large drops, not abnormally sized... And the shower was like any other that would pass through.

(Ooc: Okay if you want to ICly mark those characters gone it's up to you, but they are gone, and most likely not coming back. The rain will end in a few hours time leaving behind cleaned redead(the no longer animated zombies), and a clean earth. The portal is closed but there are most likely some shamblers roaming round, it's all how you want to play it.)

Music to soothe the savage beasts.

After his 'conversation' with Cordelia he had his choices. Either he could take it out on her and her fellow 'man' or he could soothe himself. It was easier to take the higher road. Perhaps it would even effect the Zombies, who knew?

He found himself down in the Grand Lobby of the main house, where a rich expensive black grand piano sat. It was an antique that he had picked up around the time the things were first created. He had loved it the instant he had set eyes on it. Taking a seat at on the bench, he lovingly caressed the ivory keys.

Before he knew it his fingers began to drum out the well known composition 'Poet and Peasant' by Franz von Suppe. The sound, though locked away behind the large oak doors of the lodge, traveled over the entire compound. Not an inch of the Ridgeway was untouched by the classical music, as if it were over loud speakers. There wasn't a note out of tune, not a single miss-struck.

The furious way the music swelled, spoke of his temper. As it slowed and lulled it drew his anger out with it.

(ooc: since my zombie expert is a sleep, I figure you can decide if your characters and the zombies they're fighting are effected or not.)
