Alice stood perfectly still. Usually she was really good at keeping her face neutral, no matter what, but she had known from the beginning that it would probably be her that told Jacob what happened. She bit softly on her lower lip and looked away for a moment. She really didn't want to have to tell him this, after all, he wouldn't listen to the reasoning behind it. But someone would let the cat out of the bag sooner or later. He at least deserved to hear it from someone he knew rather than a guest.
"Yeah, she does," the petite vampire said softly, giving Jacob a sympathetic look. "But there were reasons. And good things happen for you after, I promise. I was there, after all." She didn't know if he'd listen, but she could at least try to soften the blow a little.
