Who: Alice Cullen and Jacob Black
What: Alice is helping out the naked shapeshifter
When: Early afternoon
Where: Out in the woods

Alice had managed to scrounge up a pair of sweatpants that she assumed would fit Jacob. The first pair she'd found had the word "Juicy" stamped across the butt, and she almost took them just to be funny, but when she found another pair that was gray, she took those instead. She'd be nice this one time, since he had just gotten here and Alice would inevitably have to tell him some things he didn't want to hear.

The petite vampire followed Jacob's scent through the forest, pausing every so often to make sure she was actually following him and not Leah. There were subtle differences in their scents, but they could still get mixed up if she wasn't careful. She also kept her ears open, just in case someone else was out here. It wasn't like she expected to be staked or anything, after all most of the guests seemed more interested in autographs. But survival was too deeply ingrained in her to let her guard down.

"Jacob?" she called. She was close now. "If you'll make a noise, I can toss these pants to you. I don't need to see anything." Her nose wrinkled slightly. Yep, that was definitely something she didn't need to see. But better her than Bella or Leah, she supposed.

It was hard not to wrinkle his nose as she got closer. Oddly enough he liked her a good bit more than any of the others. She was little but she was fierce, you had to respect that. And she was willing to help him, something he doubted Edward would do without some prodding from Bella.

She didn't have to speak loudly for him to hear her. And once she was close enough he straightened up from behind a shrub. The leafy greenery kept him from being exposed, but he still cupped his hands over his more sensitive parts. Poison Ivy would be really bad to brush against, even if it didn't last long.

"Right here. Thanks for this." His lips pursed, he knew what came with this help would probably be something he didn't want to hear. She was the fortune teller... He knew his future was blank to her, but she could see Bella clearly.

Alice nodded a greeting to Jacob as she pulled her arm back and threw the sweatpants over to him as hard as she could, her aim perfect. "No problem," she replied, a small smile tugging up the corners of her mouth. It was nice to be owed a favor from one of the shapeshifters, whether she would actually cash it in or not. And besides, Jacob wasn't so bad. Alice tended to tolerate the shapeshifters more than some of the rest of her family.

"I need to tell you right now that Leah and I are from your future." She stated it plainly, though she was pretty sure it would come as either a shock or Jacob would think she was kidding. "And Bella is from your past. She doesn't want to know what happens to her, so don't you tell her or I'll make you regret it." She smiled to soften the threat, but it was a threat nonetheless.

"If you want to know what happens, I can tell you. Or I can keep you in the dark as well. Though, just a fair warning, the guests may or may not be as kind."

He caught the sweats with one hand. It took a minute but he dawned the too short pants, which he pushed up to his knees so that it wasn't completely obvious that he wasn't wearing something that belonged to him. Stepping from around the bush he brushed his hands over the tops of his thighs, removing the sweat and clamminess.

"From my future..." From the discussion he'd had with Angel it didn't surprise him too much, he nodded slowly accepting it as just more weird shit that he has to go through. "All I can tell her anyway is that Victoria vamp is dead and She's in love with me." He offered the last with a bit of a grin.

Did he want to know? What was there to know? Well sure there was plenty, did he really want to know Bella's heart had stopped beating? That he'd lost the fight to win her heart... "How bad is it? I mean..." He sucked in a deep breath before slowly releasing it. "She chooses him anyway doesn't she?"

Alice stood perfectly still. Usually she was really good at keeping her face neutral, no matter what, but she had known from the beginning that it would probably be her that told Jacob what happened. She bit softly on her lower lip and looked away for a moment. She really didn't want to have to tell him this, after all, he wouldn't listen to the reasoning behind it. But someone would let the cat out of the bag sooner or later. He at least deserved to hear it from someone he knew rather than a guest.

"Yeah, she does," the petite vampire said softly, giving Jacob a sympathetic look. "But there were reasons. And good things happen for you after, I promise. I was there, after all." She didn't know if he'd listen, but she could at least try to soften the blow a little.

He stepped back a little bit, feeling the heat grow in his belly. He felt his hands vibrate. The wolf wanted out, with that bit of information. His eyes closed as he steadied his breathing. Not wanting to change this close to her, even if he couldn't damage her hard skin, he wouldn't risk it. Oddly enough, Jake could honestly say he liked Alice.

Once the vibration stopped, once he had himself fully under control, he closed the distance. "Good or not... I don't want to know anymore, I don't think. I... I don't think I'd be able to act like me around her if I know to much." His eyes opened, a small forced smile curved the corners of his lips. "I know it's stupid knowing I have little to no chance, but I still love her. And to keep something monumental from her I'd have to not know about it, I don't coddle her like he does."

Alice stood still while Jacob came to terms with what she had told him. She wasn't sure if he would actually change or not, after all she couldn't see his future, but if he did, she was ready to jump clear and let him go. Protect the others if she needed to. But it certainly was a relief when he calmed down. She really didn't want to have to dodge an angry wolf or do damage control for one. She may have been tiny, especially compared to him, but she could take care of herself.

She was tempted to give Jake a hug or at least pat his shoulder or something, but she had the feeling that he might not look too kindly on that. His heart was clearly broken, and Alice felt a little responsible. She felt bad for him.

"Please don't tell her what I told you," Alice asked quietly, knowing he could hear her. "She doesn't want to know anything about the future. She doesn't remember anything after we came back from Italy. I don't know how long it will be until the guests tell her what happens to her, Leah and I are trying to keep that from happening, but we can't be everywhere. And we can't keep her from reading the books about us. The manager has copies." The petite vampire shook her head sadly. This was a losing battle she was fighting, trying to keep the future from everyone. Suddenly, she imagined this must have been what her human life felt like.

"I'll tell you anything you want to know. If you don't want to know what happens to you, then don't let the guests talk to you about it, and don't read those damn books. They're way too detailed for comfort."

He might not have minded the hug to much, the smell would have been what go to him most. He sniffed and shook his head to clear the rest of the heady emotions away. His hands coming to prop up on his hips, bared because of the smallness of the sweats.

"I'll help run interference from the..." It was a strange word for the people he'd seen between the door he'd left and the edge of the wood. "guests. If I can't keep her busy, and keep them occupied then I wouldn't be much of a friend." What he didn't tell her was that there was no way in hell he was going to give up, without her 'brother' there... That spot was definitely open in his book.

"Yeah I'm not much of a reader anyway, so staying away from books wont be too hard. But if there's something you don't want her to know, you'd better not tell me. I wouldn't do it intentionally but I can't say something wouldn't slip accidentally..." He knew there were plenty of times he'd said something to Bella that he shouldn't have. Telling her about what the Cullen's were was one of them. Even if it had been before he knew the legends were true.

Alice smiled at the shapeshifter. "It constantly surprises me how you can not be bothersome sometimes." She had the feeling, though of course she couldn't see his future, that Jacob would try to use the fact that Bella didn't know about the wedding to his advantage, but what happened happened. She didn't really feel like she should try to make sure things happened here the way they would have happened back in Forks, but she didn't want to think about what would happen if things changed and then Edward ended up here. It would be a bloodbath.

"I won't tell you anything, then. Trust me, I've gotten good at that." She tilted her head to the side and flashed an ironic smile. Sometimes the future just needed to stay a surprise. "Make sure Leah knows that you don't want to know anything. She knows just as much as me, if not more."

He couldn't help the grin that broke through, it was a little impish. "Yeah, it surprises me how little you stink. I mean you're so much more tolerable than any other vamp. Maybe because there's so much less of you than there is of them." It was a tease, she did smell as strong as the rest of her coven, she just didn't smell as strong as the red eyed vamps. And she was just as strong as any of them, even with her lack in size.

That might be a problem with Leah, basically because anything she thought of he would see when they shifted. He ran his hand over his face trying to scrub that sort of frustration away. "That might be a little easier said than done. If she has the thought of something I wont want to see, I'll see it anyway. Maybe it's better to not tell her, so I don't give her the idea to think it. That way she wont... Maybe." Seeing it that way might not be as bad as hearing it from Alice, or one of the guests... But he'd cross that path when it came.

Alice's eyebrow arched delicately and she suppressed a snicker. "Well, at least I don't have to beg for clothes out in the woods." True, she was small, but she felt it worked to her advantage more than her detriment. People underestimated her. It was actually kind of funny when they did.

She hadn't really considered the pack connection that Jacob had to Leah. It was most likely only a matter of time until he learned everything that happened, but maybe Leah could keep it from him. Alice had learned how to keep things from Edward, after all. Maybe she should teach some of the techniques to Leah.

"I had to learn to guard my thoughts against Edward. If Leah needs any help in that department, she can let me know. Really, it's just about discipline. You have to think about anything else. The stranger, the better." She grinned as she thought back on all the things she'd thought about to keep Edward from seeing Bella's wedding dress in her thoughts.

"Yeah well those are the breaks. Maybe I'll hide some out here just in case so I don't have to beg anymore." He was tempted to ruffle her hair, something he would have done with his younger pack members. He was actually really surprised that anything of hers had fit him at all.

"Don't know if she'd go through the trouble..." He wrinkled his nose remembering all the things she'd put in the pack mind. Things they didn't really want to think about, or remember... Or see. Though she did seem a little different from what he remembered. "I'll ask her though... But I wouldn't count on it. She used to like making us all uncomfortable with the things she would think." He mussed his shaggy hair a bit, before he bent down to pick up the package he'd been given. Having dropped it after he reached cover, so he could change back to being human.

"Thanks again Alice. I think I'm going to go find the bed I'm supposed to crash in... Everything is kinda piling up on me now." Kissing Bella, then the fight with the newborns, and now this? Top it all off that he hadn't slept very well to begin with, even if he had enjoyed sharing the sleeping bag with her to keep her warm.

Alice chose not to comment on whether or not Leah would actually bother to keep things secret from Jacob. After all, Leah was a bit headstrong... could even be a jerk, though she wasn't all bad. However, this was pack business, and she felt like Leah would probably try not to let Jake in on what happened later in his life. It would make it awfully hard on Bella, after all, and Leah had been the first to warn her that Bella didn't want to know anything that had happened after Italy.

"No problem," she replied with a smile. "You go rest. It's a lot to take in, I know. But this place might just grow on you eventually." It wasn't so much that it was actually growing in Alice, just that she was trying to keep a positive attitude so she wouldn't go crazy.

He offered her a smile, just before a yawn that he'd been fighting parted his lips. "Watch out for those other vamps... Not that you can't take care of yourself but... He seemed kinda set on controlling me too." He snorted softly like he needed a handler. Some how he doubted he and Leah would be the most of the hunters worries. He knew Alice could take care of herself, but that didn't mean he liked the idea of anyone giving her trouble either.

He offered a bit of a wave before he tucked his head to cut through the trees. Heading towards the cabin he had been assigned.
