WHO: Bella and Rachel
WHEN: Evening after this
WHERE: Cabin 007
WHAT: Pizza and a movie
RATING: TBD
STATUS: Incomplete

Bella approached the cabin tentatively, the large pizza box balanced between her arms. There was no way she'd be able to carry it in one hand and not trip over something. She was far more accident prone in the dark and she hadn't bought enough money out with her to go back and get another pizza.

She was a little apprehensive about meeting this Rachel. She seemed nice enough, but then so many people seemed nice. If she hadn't known Aro was so dangerous when she met him, she might have been endeared by his jovial attitude. Under the circumstances though, she had known enough to be very wary of the ancient vampire. Still, Rachel couldn't be anywhere near that dangerous. And she ate pizza, so she clearly wasn't a vampire.

The hood of her sweater was up, stopping the wind from snagging her long, chestnut hair as she stopped outside the cabin door. The weather had been pretty much good since she arrived here, such a change from Forks, and it shocked her to realise she was actually starting to miss the rain. The air in Forks was always so fresh and clear, not muggy like here. Even in Phoenix the heat was a dry heat.

Making sure the pizza was safely balance on one outstretched arm, she raised her free hand and knocked on the wooden door. She was wearing her brown, fingerless mittens which muffled the sound a little, but the pizza box was wabbling dangerously so she needed the free hand to hold it still.

Rachel had been cleaning the cabin all day. It had looked like a tornado had gone through the place and she didn't want guests coming over to see it. She ended up vacuuming and sweeping the hardwood floors. She was working hard, since noone was in the cabin, at least to her knowledge, Julie had already left and she didn't know about Eddie, but it seemed pretty quiet.

After she sighed and was sweating from all the cleaning she decided to take a much needed shower. About 20 minutes later she stepped out of the shower and felt clean and smelled nice. Going into her bedroom she put on a skirt and a nice sweater like she would on any other day. Finishing getting ready she went and grabbed some movies and some sodas.

Setting everything on the coffee table she finally heard a knock on the door. Opening it she saw Bella standing there with the pizza. "Hey Bella, ummm need help?"

Bella looked up as the door opened, smiling at the girl. She didn't look dangerous at all; that, at least, was concerting. "Hey," she said, stepping up into the cabin, peering around the large pizza box to make sure she didn't trip. "I'm alright," she reassured the girl, hoping she wouldn't have to bring up her clumsiness. It wasn't exactly an endearing quality.

"I just got a plain pizza," she said, giving a small smile. "I hope that's alright." Ironicly enough, considering her boyfriend's diet, Bella wasn't much of a meat eater. She used to love Harry Clearwater's fish fry, and she always enjoyed the fish Charlie bought back on a Sunday after a day on the river bank, but processed animal carcass didn't really appeal to her.

She stood awkwardly in the doorway, waiting to be invited in properly. Back home she'd never really made friends easily, and even here, she hadn't met that many people. But Rachel had seemed enthusiastic to meet up, and she'd thought it would be good to get out and get her mind off the lack of Edward. She'd been spending a lot of time with Jake, like last time, but he was with Leah now, and she couldn't rely on him too much.

"Erm, where should I, you know, put it?" she asked, her eyes flicking between the doors to the kitchen and living room.

Rachel had a big smile on her face. Thank god she had something going on tonight otherwise she was going to just going to have a boring night of watching TV, but not GLEE she still refused to watch to see what happened. But she still was curious but she wasn't about to do it alone. "Come on in. I just cleaned, it had looked like a tornado had went through the inside. Very messy."

"Oh plain pizza is fine with me, I'm a vegetarian. So the plainer, the better." Yeah she was caught eating pepperoni pizza one time during Glee, but that was the first and last time. She didn't like to eat animals, what harm did they do to land on somebody's plate.

Just then she asked where she could put the pizza and she motioned to the couch and the coffee table. "Oh you can just put it on the coffee table over there. So how much do I owe you for half the pizza price?" She asked.

Bella didn't really mind mess. She always made sure her bedroom was reasonable, and Charlie wasn't that good at housekeeping so she'd got used to keeping the house tidy, but she was by no means a clean freak. Still, she appreciated Rachel tidying the cabin. Her own roommates seemed not to make much of an impression on their cabin, but she could imagine what living with a load of messy strangers could be like. And Rachel did seem rather enthusiastic, even about the cleaning.

Making her way into the living room, Bella put the pizza box down on the table. She couldn't help but smile slightly when Rachel mentioned being a vegetarian. The edges of that hole in her chest throbbed slightly as she was reminded of Edward, but she was determined not to let it rip her open like it had when he'd left her. He wanted to be with her, he loved her, she knew that now. She still couldn't quite comprehend such a wonderful being loving someone as plain as her, but she was confident in the fact that he did now. He'd been willing to die for her memory, not because of guilt, but because he couldn't face existing in a world where she wasn't alive.

"Oh, don't worry about it," Bell said, straightening up to face Rachel again with a small smile. "It's your cabin, so..." She didn't mind paying for the pizza. It wasn't a lot of money after all, and apparently Petersen had been impressed with the work she'd done at the hotel since she arrived. She wondered if he'd been generous because he knew about all the unwanted attention she'd recieved from fans... and, of course, the Twilight-haters. Everyone seemed to know who she was, but some of them had been rather mean, about her and Edward. She'd learned that, amoung the fans, there were two camps; Team Edward and Team Jacob. She didn't like to think about that; people routing for her to end up with Jake. Of course, she'd thought about it while Edward was away, but she could never leave Edward for Jake. The books made that clear. She wasn't sure why some people payed no attention to her feelings.

Looking around the cabin she gave a warm smile. She had done some good work for still only being in high school. But she was more mature then some high school kids could ever be. She was smart, knew what she wanted in life, was in many clubs, and motivated. She was glad that Eddie wasn't around, he kind of creeped her out a bit.

When Bella put the pizza down on the coffee table she began to sit down. She was getting hungry but didn't want to take the first slice, so she waited but she did open up a can of soda. "So you said that you are dating a vampire named Edward was it.? Tell me, how is it that you are dating him but yet he doesn't bite you? Isn't that what Vampires do, feed on blood of humans?" Yeah she was asking a lot of questions, but she wanted to know because she was well, her curious self. "I'm sorry if I'm asking too many questions, its just seems so strange to me."

"Are you sure?" She wanted to make some contribution to the pizza as she was also going to be eating it. Thinking about what she had said about the movies, she wasn't going to play whatever Bella was in and she certainly was not going to be putting in GLEE. What if Jesse ended up breaking her heart, and what if they lost regionals, she couldn't handle those things if they were true, and she didn't want to have a breakdown either. So she sighed. "Okay, I have lots of movies here, romantic comedies, horror, thriller, action, comedies, what kind of movies are you into?"

Bella waved her hand, nodding. "Yeah, sure," she said. Taking a seat beside Rachel, she deliberatly took care over her movements, putting off explaining about Edward. She'd known this was coming. After all, she'd said she'd explain. It was just still so strang to her, to be able to share this sort of knowledge with people.

Reaching forward, she opened the pizza box and took out a slice, making sure none of the hot cheese was dripping, but not eating yet either. "Yeah," she said eventually. "Edward's a vampire." She took a deep breath, her eyes always on Rachel, watching for any reaction. "He's a..." She was about to say vegetarian vampire, but with a real vegetarian in the room, she thought better of it. "He's a good vampire, I guess. Most of them drink human blood, but Edward and his family live off animals."

Bella looked back down at her pizza. She didn't know how to explain how she dated him without being bitten. In fact, since she'd been with him, she really had been bitten. She had just been lucky Edward had saved her. At least, lucky in his eyes. He hadn't wanted her to make the change, even though he knew it was what she had wanted. She wanted to be with him forever, the way they were now. Not her old and grey and him as beautiful as ever. But still, she had never been bitten by him, and that in itself was a miracle. If it had been any other vampire, any other "la tua cantante", she would have been dead that first day in the Biology lab. But Edward was different. He had tried and tried and tried to control himself until he could stand to be around her. She knew it must have been, must still be, a constant struggle for him, but he did it because he loved her. "Edward has... epic self control," Bella muttered, lifting the slice of pizza to her lips and nibbling.

And not just about blood, she thought to herself. She shook her head slightly, trying to get rid of thoughts like that, taking a larger bite of pizza. Ever since starting to read Breaking Dawn a few days ago, she hadn't been able to stop thinking about Edward in that way. It was probably good he wasn't here right now. He'd no doubt be getting so frustrated about her constant want and need to touch him, kiss him... God, she wanted so much more. It was so painful to read about how they'd made love and know that it might never happen for her, not in this world, at least. If Petersen really couldn't get Edward here, she'd probably end up dying a virgin. There was no one else she'd ever give herself too. She was his.

Bella took a deep breath, Rachel's question snapping her out of her thoughts. "Not romance," she said at once. She could only safely watch romance when she was happy and secure in the knowledge that she had Edward and he was close by and she'd be able to drift off to sleep in his arms and have sweet dreams. If that wasn't the case, and it wasn't here, the romance would just taunt her and terrify her, twisting in her nightmares to form thickets of sorrow. Even since being here, only twelve days, she had barely gone a night without waking in tears. She was good at blocking thoughts out during her waking hours, but at night her imagination took revenge. "Perhaps comedy?" she suggested. She would have liked to go for a bloodthirsty horror, but she could distinctly see vampire teeth on the cover of one of the dark coloured dvd cases and decided that was very definitely a bad idea. You couldn't go too far wrong with comedy. She thought she could maybe even handle a rom com, but she'd rather not.

Rachel was sitting down on the couch and she had grabbed a slice of pizza and put it on a plate and looking at Bella listening to her story. It was quite fascinating and she was trying to think clearly on how the system worked. Between her and those scary stories of vampires, it sounded as if Edward was a nice man that wouldn't hurt anybody, well, she didn't know that from a fact cause she has never met him or anything. But if he was going to feed on only animal blood, and can have control over not biting humans, then it was pretty fascinating to hear.

She finally put some pizza into her mouth as she chewed she continued to listen. When she was all finished she put her plate down and then wiped her mouth with a napkin. "Wow, that story is really interesting. I guess cause I heard all of the stories about scary vampires, that I never really knew those type of vampires actually existed, the ones that only feed on animal blood and not humans." She shrugged her shoulders.

"So tell me about Edward. I mean you don't have to tell me the whole story or anything, but he seems like an interesting person. Like how did you guys meet and everything?" She smiled over at her. While she was waiting for Bella to tell her the story she went ahead and went over to the DVD collection, "Well, we have 50 First Dates, Benchwarmers, Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison, wow, I guess this person who got these DVD's loves Adam Sandler movies, Oh there's also Dance Flick, Knocked Up, Superbad, The Hangover, and oh there's one more comedy here, oh yes, She's Out of My League. So which one do you prefer to watch?" She looked over at her.

Bella smiled a little, thinking of Edward. He was far better than any story. If she'd been told about how wonderful he was instead of experiencing it herself, she'd never have believed it. Still, the Cullens were unique of their race. The majority of vampires were startlingly like those in the horror films; ruthless, cruel and deadly. She hadn't met that many other vampires, but the ones she had met had made a lasting impression; James, Victoria, the Volturi. She shuddered slightly.

"They're not all like Edward," she said softly, looking down at her pizza, not wanting to meet Rachel's eyes. "Some of them are very... Dracula." She licked her lips, picking a strand of cheese from her pizza slice and popping it into her mouth. She chewed carefully for a moment, thinking of how to explain.

"Even for Edward, it's hard," she shrugged, her eyes still looking anywhere but at the other girl. "I know he wants my blood, but he loves me too much to hurt me." Ok, so he had hurt her when he'd left her, but he'd believed he was acting for her good. She hadn't quite completely forgiven him for the pain he'd caused yet, but she was well on the way to it. "We met in Biology on my first day at school in Forks. He..." ...wanted to eat me? "It was hard for him, that first day, but after a while he learned to control the... you know, thirst."

Okay, she had definitely had enough of talking vampire for the time being. Not only was it making her miss Edward like hell, it was making her head spin, thinking about it all. There was so much she still didn't understand about Edward's world, and that hadn't really been a problem back in Forks where she had to keep it all a secret. Here, people were questioning her non stop, and a lot of the time it made her realise how little she actually knew. It was clear she knew more than most humans, but not enough to explain properly.

"How about Superbad?" she said, trying to indicate with her voice that she wanted to change the subject. She'd seen a review for Superbad when it had come out in the movie theatre in Port Angeles. Back then she'd made sure she read up on films before she agreed to see them, to make sure there was nothing that would rip her chest open with missing Edward. Superbad had looked pretty much safe, so she was sure it would be okay now.

Rachel picked up her pizza again and started to eat it. For some reason she was starving. But she wanted to get to know this Edward by having Bella talk about him. It was just an awesome story and that made her think that maybe since she had the time on her hands that she would read this Twilight series or whatever you call it. She then began to think that she would need to watch her show first to find out what went on with the Glee Club and Jesse and Finn. It was time that she found things out for herself, but not right now, right now she was enjoying her night in with a friend.

"Oh well, that makes sense then. Sorry I guess after you said all that I just kind of figured. But I get it now, so there are vampires that eat people but then there are vampires, such as Edward that only feed from the blood of animals." Yeah it made perfect sense, cause of course there would have to be vampires that eat people too, thank god she was a vegetarian otherwise she would not even had lasted a slice.

"You guys must really love each other then if he is controlling his thirst for you. It almost sounds romantic in a way." She sighed, Romance, she had a good thing going on. She started thinking about Finn and what he would be doing now, she still had feelings for Finn, BUT she was with Jesse. "You know before I came here I was going through this thing with two guys, I'm going out with this guy Jesse, but before I was in love with this guy Finn. Finn broke my heart and I found Jesse but you know its hard cause I still feel something for Finn." She then shook her head. "I'm ranting aren't I." She laughed as she got up from the couch and smiled.

"Superbad it is then. I haven't seen this movie, I hope that its good and funny. Its kind of what I need at the moment, a good laugh." She then put the DVD in and hit the play button. "So what is your job here?"

"Yeah, that's just about it," she said with a shrug. Obviously, it wasn't as black and white as that, but it would do for now. She finished off the crust of her pizza chewing slowly.

"I love him more than anything," she said after a moment. A few weeks ago, she would have said it was one sided, but after Italy... He loved her, he really did. He hadn't wanted to be away from here. He hadn't wanted to hurt her. She knew she should still be annoyed at him, but she just couldn't do it. She took a deep breath and smiled. "And yeah, he loves me too. I know it's really hard for him to control himself, especially when he's so close to me, but he really does love me, so he puts up with it."

She was just leaning forward, picking up a second slice of pizza, when she heard Rachel's words. They rang surprisingly true. She knew what it was like to be caught between two men. "No, no, don't worry about it. I know what you mean." She took a bite of her pizza to buy her a moment or two while she chewed. "Edward left me for a while. He thought it was for my own good, but I guess that's another story... While he was away I got pretty close to my best friend, Jake... I hate hurting Jake, because I know he likes me, but... I guess I just belong to Edward and there's nothing I can do about it."

Bella sat back on the couch, kicking her shoes off as she pulled her legs up under her. "Hotel front desk," she replied, looking at the screen as the adverts began to play. "You?"

"Wow, I have to say that's really kind of interesting. And kind of neat, I mean that there are some that try and at least not feast on people." She looked at her as she stuck some cheese in her mouth.

This got her thinking about Finn. She loved him dearly, but he was the one that broke her heart and then he went off with Santana. She didn't think that she could go on after that, she was thankful that she had found someone that got her and even moved just so that he could go to school with her and be with her. "That's great Bella. Looks to me that you really hit the big time with this guy, he sounds great." She laughed. "I'll have to pick up the books, or aren't they also made into movies, I saw Eclipse was playing at the theater?"

She was in the same predicament as she was or still is with Jesse and Finn, being with Jesse but always thinking about Finn. She felt as if Bella could get what she was meaning in that category. "Sounds like you already made your decision with Edward. But I get it because you always have that what if on your mind, which just confuses you all over again."

When watching the the screen and seeing the first part, this movie was pretty dirty. Lots of language and sexual matter, but it was a movie and she didn't have to think about anything or anyone. "Really? Then you must know my roommate Julie Stark? She works at the front desk as well." She smiled. "I'm a singer at the Ice Room."

Bella nodded. She had made her mind up. She'd made her mind up nearly two years ago when she'd met him. There was nothing she could do about it. Perhaps if he really had left for good, really didn't love her, she'd have been able to move on eventually. Jacob made her happy and helped heal the hole Edward had left in her heart, but she knew she could never have felt the overwhelming love she felt for Edward with anyone else. He had said she was his own personal brand of heroine, but he was hers too.

"I hate hurting Jake," she said, shaking her head, looking down at the pizza for a minute, not paying attention to the movie. "That's the worst thing. I don't want to hurt him, but I know, if anything happened with us, the fact that I love Edward would kill him in the end..." And that was if Edward didn't get to him first. She couldn't win either way. It wasn't so much confusion as guilt. She had let things go too far with Jake, let herself get in too deep and depend on him. But now she was stuck. She couldn't live without either of them; Edward as her soul mate and Jacob as her best friend.

Bella nodded, snapping out of her trance-like state to look back at Rachel. "Oh yeah." She hadn't been on the same shift as Julie yet, but she was sure she'd met her once or twice. "Singer, huh?" she said, able to tell that Rachel was proud of her job. "You do a lot of singing back home?"

She found Bella pretty interesting, dating a vampire and then having to choose between a vampire and then of course someone that she also cared about. It was almost like her story except there were no vampires, just high schoolers. This got her to think about all the things that had happened while she was at McKinley High, lots of great music and her growing verge to become popular and having people like her. Sometimes it got to her head a little too much.

"You know I hated hurting Finn, but I he broke my heart first and then when I found someone else he finally realized that he still cared about me. But I had to let him down, but we still stayed friends, and Finn was always there for me." This got her to start thinking about Finn, on how they were first alone together, and then of course there was the picnic that she made on the auditorium stage where they had kissed. "But you know sometimes you have to let someone down in the end. It sucks but in the end someone is going to get hurt."

Finishing up her second slice of pizza, it was really good. She took a drink of her soda and taking her head away from the movie, it was funny, but really really dirty. "Yeah, she works tonight. We sometimes have movie night here as well. She's a very nice and funny girl." She laughed. "Yeah, I'm a singer. I have been singing since I was in diapers. I'm going to be a star one day, well, after my first show at The Ice Room, I pretty am much a star. So yeah you can say that I do a lot of singing back home. I'm our main soloist in the GLEE Club and Finn is the male lead, its sometimes hard to sing with him because of that tension, but we make a great singing duo."

"I know," she sighed, looking down. She'd known that all along, but originally she didn't think she'd have to make the choice. Edward had left her, she thought for good. When she had started hanging out with Jake, she hadn't imagined that one day she'd have to make the choice between the two people she loved most in all the world. She had been so sure she wanted to become a vampire after James' attack, but that would mean leaving Jake. As much as she wished she could follow her dream of being with Edward forever, sooner or later she would loose Jake, especially because of what he was. It had been hard enough to come to terms with leaving behind the humans she loved, but Jacob was a werewolf, and a sworn enemy of vampires. How could she keep her best friend if she became the exact thing it was in his nature to hate?

She took a deep breath, putting the rest of her half eaten pizza slice down on the spare plate on the table. She suddenly didn't feel much like eating any more. She tried hard to concentrate on what Rachel was saying. She talked a lot but Bella prefered listening to talking anyway. In some ways, Rachel reminded her of Jessica. Still, she promised herself she'd try to pay more attention to her new friend than she had to her old one. It was rude to just get lost in her own thoughts, no matter how important they seemed to her.

"I guess I'm jealous. I've never been able to sing well." She didn't even sing along with music when she was alone, unless she was in a particularly good mood. Besides, Edward was a much better singer than her. She loved listening to him humming as she fell asleep. It would be a shame to interrupt such a lovely voice. "I've never been outstanding at anything, really," she said with a small smile. She was okay at science, and brilliant at getting herself into trouble, but apart from that, she was nothing special. Still, she had never wanted people to take notice of her. If people payed her attention, it would just mean she had a larger audience when she tripped, or fell, or injured herself somehow.
