Sometimes Ruby ate because she was bored, sometimes it was to weird Sam out (she liked odd food combinations), sometimes it was because she had an obsession with fries. Usually she ate because she didn't want Sam to eat alone. It wasn't like she needed to eat. But it was just one of those things that added up to the ridiculously normal life they were living. They were all domestic. And somehow managing to avoid all the other drama that was going on around here. And so far Ruby hadn't freaked out about it once.
So when he got all happy like that, just grinning at her, all she could think was that he was about to get emo sappy. She rolled her eyes before he even started talking.
"Tired of hearing your brother's harem banging the bedframe against the wall?" Not that he was home that often anyway, but Ruby still wasn't exactly comfortable verbalizing her feelings. Sure, they snuggled in bed, even when there wasn't sex happening. They held hands sometimes. It was ridiculously adorable. And she was okay with that, as long as she didn't have to actually vocalize how she felt.
