Who: Heather, Robin and Gabriel(?)
When: After this.
Where: The Titanic!
What: Robin has lured Heather onto the ship. Though it didn't take much.
Warning: None!

Heather was practically bouncing on the balls of her feet. It took every ounce of her will power not to do her little nerdy dance right there. And not to squeal. She was geeking out almost as much as she did when she first met Robin. But of course he didn't see it cause it was on the network.

Okay so she wasn't all that excited about seeing the captains cabin. The bridge would have been better, in her opinion. Not that she wasn't interested in historic papers and charts and all that. She was... just a little less than she was in the mechanics of the ship... Or what was in the cargo hold. But Robin wanted to go, so she'd go. Maybe there was something nifty in there...

She stood at the front of the bow. Itching to climb up on the very point and spread her arms. But she was resisting that too. Because... she hated that movie... didn't she?

"We're on the freaking Titanic!" Okay she couldn't hold back anymore, as she squealed with girlish glee.

"I don't think you get to decide what he does, do you? Here forever is still better than nowhere and you don't get to decide who lives and who dies. Yeah people died on your watch but none of that was your fault. You save some, is what you did. Put 'em on boats. Let 'em go.

You don't have any deaths on your conscience so don't start now. You need to keep him? Fine but shooting him will only make the big man mad."

And Gabriel dropped his voice.

"I know you're trapped too but... maybe you don't have to be." Maybe if he was capable of what he thought was kindness he was also capable of self preservation. Gabriel's voice was calm. "You know what we are. Won't be easy but maybe we can do better than dead on the floor, yeah?"

No Heather couldn't let Gabriel make that kind of deal. Not with some sort of stipulation. Heather moved so that she stood right outside the door, right at the line of salt. "Can he hear us Murdoch?" She knew she said some pretty mean stuff, but he was using her as a hostage. What do you expect from an almost redhead pregnant woman?

Her arms crossed over her chest. She wouldn't speak her mind unless she knew Smith couldn't hear her.

"Don't try and confuse me," he told Gabriel angrily. "Don't patronise me and tell me I did a good job." The gun, however, did waver, lowering slightly. He knew the angel was right. And he'd be better off staying inside this one.

He didn't understand what the angel was offering. A way out of this cursed place? He doubted that was possible. At first, he wasn't sure if Heather meant Robin, or Smith. But then he caught on. He glanced over his shoulder, at the other entrance to the cabin, before looking back at them both, the gun lowering right back to his side this time, though still firm in his grip.

"Not yet."

'Dammit, Heather, why are you still here?' The message was sent telepathically and had a long-suffering urgency to it. He wasn't angry but he was very, very worried. Why don't they ever listen?

He returned his attention to Murdoch. "You met me before. You think I'm the kind of guy to make shit up to make you feel better? Hell, I'm not your therapist or your mum. I do think you deserve better than this hand-maiden to the starts crap." He met Will Murdoch's eyes. "And I mean that. So, yeah. If there's something I can do for you I'll do it."

Heather jumped at the voice in her head, almost like she'd been shocked, her whole time here and she'd never heard anyone's voice in her head quite like that. Not quite sure how the telepathic stuff worked she simply thought her answer a bit harder than she would have. 'You know why. I'm not gonna go through all that crap for a bunch of people who didn't quite care weather I lived or died, to turn my back on two people who mean more to me than one of them.' She wasn't about to cross that salt line. She might carry a certain amount of stupidity with her, but she wasn't that dumb.

"And besides I was kind of being a bitch on purpose. I wanted you to let me go. Anything to get you to make a mistake. Besides, you're hailed as a hero... Back in your home town. They have a memorial to you and everything. Think they woulda done that for a screw up?" Her eyes went stony. "But that doesn't mean you get to cross this salt line in my brothers body. You want out, you gotta find somebody else to inhabit. We have to face a bunch of guests everyday that want our autograph for some reason or another... You can have one of them. Hell they'd probably love going for the ride. But that's the only way you're getting off this ship." She wasn't about to let him out in that meat suit.

Gabriel's words interested him. For the most part, he ignored Heather's. Because there was no way he was leaving this body. Not while he was so vulnerable to attack. But if he could leave this hell, if he could get off the ship, he might finally be free.

"I've heard others on the ship. They haven't come this far yet so they've managed to leave. But you know that won't last long." Here he paused for a moment, meeting Gabriel's eyes. "This one trusts you. And you as well," he directed at Heather. So maybe he could trust them to strike a bargain with him.

"I'll tell you how to save them from him. How to get them off the ship if he turns them. But in return you must take me to sure." And here he looked at Heather again. "Right where I am."

"Heather, calm. We don't want him angry right now. We want that spirit out of that body. We need him to feel safe."

It was a reasonable deal, though Gabriel was pretty sure Heather would disagree. "I would be willing to do that," he said sincerely. They only had to free the spirit. They could always remove it from Robin later. Sent it so where it was meant to be. Gabriel was really starting to dislike Murdoch's captain.

"You have my word. Your help for mine." He waited for Heather to protest.

"What about Robin." It was more of a statement than a question even if she just thought it in her head. Eyes cutting to Gabriel. There was no way in hell she was gonna let William Murdoch live in Robin's body, it just wasn't going to happen.

Why not put that question to the man himself? Setting her jaw she glared down her nose at the man. "And what would happen to Robin? He's got a family. Your family is long gone, and even if they weren't they aren't here. He doesn't just have me, he has a wife, a daughter, a son... Two nieces and two nephews on the way." Okay she played the anger card... Now it was time to try the sympathy card.

She and Gabriel were talking. Her look to the angel made that clear. And this was taking too long. He glanced over his shoulder at the other door again. Perhaps he should trust in his Captain after all. Would he lead him astray? He would be here soon anyway.

"Wouldn't you rather he see them everyday then remain here, away from them?" His own expression darkened when Heather glared. "Don't forget I can kill him now. And leave you both to try and escape the Captain."

"Trust me," Gabriel sent her but it didn't matter. It was damn hard to do his thing with accompaniment. "And maybe stop talking. Where at cross purposes here. Unless you think I'd sell Robs down the river, shhhh."

He turned his attention to Murdoch, watching his gaze. "Yes, we'd rather. It's easy. All we have to do is get up on deck and I can take you to land with a snap of my fingers. So why hang around here? Wait till you try Twinkies." He grinned casually and held out his hand.

"I trust you." Of course she trusted him. "You don't think he'd get a touch suspicious if I just shut up and gave in?" Heather schooled her expression a little more than she had before. Trying not to give way that she and Gabriel had the inner conversation. The look could have been explained away, after all she didn't like the idea of Murdoch in the drivers seat in Robin's head.

"I would, of course, rather see him. But it wouldn't be him that I'd see everyday anymore, would it? Do you think it's really right for him to sit in the backseat to his own life?" It was hard to go on like that. Hard to face that bit of truth. But... She didn't want Murdoch to do anything rash. "Fine. If it's him dead or... You taking over... I guess I'd selfishly rather have him alive." She closed her eyes, in attempt to hide just how much the idea hurt her. She knew Robin would hate the idea, of living back seat to someone else. But... Once they got off the ship, something could be done... Still it was a little hard to hold back such a strong emotion, especially being pregnant. One tear streaked down her cheek before she batted it away.

He could feel the other soul currently occupying the space he was in growing restless, uneasy. Could Robin sense his Captains approach too? He could sense his worry, his concern for his friends. It was interesting that in a situation where he would remain trapped inside himself, the worry he felt wasn't for his own fate.

"Once we are on land, he can not reach us. I will tell you how to free any he captures once we are safely ashore." Moving the few steps to a side table he set the gun down. He was not entirely sympathetic to the girls tears. He had seen a lot of them in his time.

"He will not suffer." He paused a beat before glancing at his feet, the strange barrier they had made across the doorway. "Now let me out."
