Who: Heather, Robin and Gabriel(?)
When: After this.
Where: The Titanic!
What: Robin has lured Heather onto the ship. Though it didn't take much.
Warning: None!

Heather was practically bouncing on the balls of her feet. It took every ounce of her will power not to do her little nerdy dance right there. And not to squeal. She was geeking out almost as much as she did when she first met Robin. But of course he didn't see it cause it was on the network.

Okay so she wasn't all that excited about seeing the captains cabin. The bridge would have been better, in her opinion. Not that she wasn't interested in historic papers and charts and all that. She was... just a little less than she was in the mechanics of the ship... Or what was in the cargo hold. But Robin wanted to go, so she'd go. Maybe there was something nifty in there...

She stood at the front of the bow. Itching to climb up on the very point and spread her arms. But she was resisting that too. Because... she hated that movie... didn't she?

"We're on the freaking Titanic!" Okay she couldn't hold back anymore, as she squealed with girlish glee.

Robin squeezed Heather's hand for a moment. "Thanks," he said softly. "Maybe that's one for a rainy night." He released her hand. "And the ship, as designed, could have survived if they'd- for another time." He grinned, turning his attention to Gabriel.

You're quite the actor. "How diplomatic of you. Never wanted anything more, really, that to sit in a sexy car and read a ships log." It was hard to tell if he was being serious. "So... aren't you going to bring it? I'm sure the captain won't mind. You know, seeing as he's not here." The angel's green eyes were as sharp as ever. Gabriel didn't know just what was going on but the rules were starting to make sense.

Heather was tempted to supply her favorite line, something he said to Lucifer, something about a great big bag of dicks... But she didn't. "Another time." She knew she'd been harder on Robin, to get him to spill his beans, but Gabriel wasn't Robin. And she was still trying not to be a pain in the ass like she had been. She wasn't sure the subject of the Titanic would ever come up again. But it would be marked down for later consumption.

She glanced between The Archangel and Robin. Heather was naive, she knew she was. But she wasn't completely blind. Something was up. "Hey maybe he has a journal to go along with it?" Sure he logged everything, but maybe there were things left out of the log and put in a private diary. Wouldn't that be cool? Anything to keep a confrontation from happening between the two.

"What else would I be, besides diplomatic?" He replied smoothly, as he paused at Heather's side. "No, that's okay," he answered his question. "Let's see Heather's cars first. There'll be plenty of time for reading later."

And now, it seemed, Heather was catching on. Why did the people he'd chosen, the friends, have to be the nosy ones, the ones who had to question everything? Why couldn't some mindless idiot come with him? He should have picked that other friend, the singing one. Much.

But for now, with these two, it was time for a different tactic. Murdoch had never been a patient man. Before either of them could say another word, he grabbed Heather's arm, twisting it up behind her back, at the same moment pulling Robin's dagger from his belt, and holding it to her throat, placing her between him and the angel. He suspected Gabriel's powers would prove futile against the captain anyway. Besides, he wouldn't risk both his friends.

"You're too clever for your own good, angel." His voice had gone cold. And unlike Robin's usually distinctly English accent, it had taken on the subtlest hint of Murdoch's own Scottish. "Now we're all going in there. Together."

Gabriel was not surprised at Robin's move simply because he knew it wasn't Robin's move. He stayed calm, on the outside.

"I know you're not Smith so... which one are- Hmm. Scottish... Hello Will. Been a while. You're not gonna hurt her. She's no use to your Captain dead." As he talked Gabriel extended his Grace. To no avail. That was... concerning.

"And anyway," he said for Heather's benefit. "You hurt her and I'll just put her together again." At best he could achieve a stalemate. He thought of Robin and what could be done from inside him. He couldn't be cavalier. "He is there Will? Captain Smith?"

Heather yelped when he first grabbed her, surprised that he'd jump to violence already. But she only gave herself a moment. When Gabriel identified who was inside she all but growled. Instead of being scared, something she didn't do in a crisis, she got pissed. "Murdoch, you big bag of dicks, you better be glad your dead cause if you weren't I'd kick your ass up and down this damn ship."

She would have stomped his foot if he didn't have the dagger to her throat. Her eyes caught Gabriel's. Nope not an ounce of fear in those baby blues. She knew the staff, the people who died and the survivors, because of all the research she'd done, it was years ago, but you just didn't forget stuff like that. She thought of something that might work. "Hey... Robin, I know you can hear me. You gonna let this asshole hurt me, and your niece?"

It was an attempt distract at least, as she squirmed a little. She felt the blade bite into her skin a little, cutting a little, drawing just a smidge of blood. But it didn't keep her from wiggling the salt from her pocket, with the bottle of holy water. She was in no position to use it, so she let it roll down her foot toward Gabriel. Tossing the water toward his foot.

"Not long enough," was the reply to Gabriel's statement. He remembered him well enough. Had never liked his attitude much. "I'm not going to hurt her?" He repeated the angels statement innocently, as a question.

"Really? As far as I was aware there is a difference between hurt, and dead. But don't worry. You two are going to have all the time together in the world. And your friends, once they get here. Robin here's already convinced his dear wife to come along. To celebrate his birthday on the ship, of all things."

He laughed delightedly, usually a warm sound coming from Robin, but now more than a little disturbing, at what Heather said. He leaned in close, mouth by her ear to speak, though his eyes remained fixed on Gabriel. "I'm sorry, Heather. Robin can't come out to play."

"So," said Gabriel, voice cold. "What if I just let you take her?" He left the water where he was. "I mean it's her or everyone, right? What if I just walk away and make sure you don't get anyone else? What happens then?" Gabriel left the water at his feet. Didn't even look at it. The archangel's eyes were dead cold.

"Shit," Robin's birthday. Of course that wasn't the center of her attention at the moment, but it was in there. If Murdoch wasn't a demon the water wouldn't work anyway, would it? The salt, which rolled up against one wall, might... But at the moment neither the salt nor the water were on her mind.

No... She had the feeling of being thrown under the bus. But... It was all for one right? She could handle that. Though... technically it was two for the rest of the resort. Still, something she could deal with. "He can't get anyone else, Gabriel. Robin wouldn't let it happen. Because if there's one thing I know about my big bother... Is he's stronger than some long dead jackass."

Her eyes cut back to Robin's. "Loser in life and loser in death huh, Murdoch? Still doing the captain's shit work. Do you wipe his ass too? See... Robin's not a loser, He's not going to let some poor excuse for a man hang out in his body for too long." She snorted. "Especially the dumb ass that managed to sink the unsinkable ship." Why was she trying to piss the ghost off? Well... She wasn't quite sure. Maybe to distract it from the Archangel for a minute or two.

"Though... I will tell you one thing... One little secret." she dropped her voice down to a pissed off whisper. "If you do manage to keep me, I'll make the rest of your afterlife a living hell. Cause DiNozzos don't go down without a fight. And we sure as hell don't stay down." Yeah she was including Audrey in the plan.

"Just her?" He chuckled again. "Oh, but it won't just be her, will it angel? It will be this one too. And there's a lot of power in this one. I can feel it."

He smiled at Heather, then gave her a mock pout. "Oh, did we forget our brothers birthday? So very sad." That was the least of their worries right now. When she mentioned him sinking the unsinkable ship, he yanked that arm twisted behind her back just a little bit higher. "That wasn't my doing!" The words were short, eyes blazing for a moment in pure anger.

And then just as quickly, he was calm again. "And as for Robin...well, he doesn't have much say in the matter. If you'd like, I'll just kill them both now and be done with it, Gabriel. What do you say? Willing to sacrifice these two...no, three, isn't it? To save the rest. Smith will accept, if he gets this one."

"Really, that's a poor offering for your captain, isn't it? A slip of a girl? Even a feisty one? But, Murdoch, don't you know what I am? You could drag her off and I could walk away. What will you have given him? Two. But two aren't enough. You need others to come, right? He's hungry, your captain.

You keep her and what? They're already getting suspicious. If we don't go back they're going to figure it out." Of course, he knew they were dumb enough to come trooping over. They were probably already rowing across the lake. Dumbasses. But did Murdoch know that?

"I didn't forget his birthday you dick. You're occupying his body. On his birthday." Heather didn't yelp, not this time, but she did grit her teeth. If she could help it she wouldn't give him the satisfaction of making a sound when he hurt her. "You're kidding me right? Just like you didn't run the Olympic into the HMS Hawke? And you didn't shoot yourself in the head cause you knew your career was over even if you did survive the Titanic." She wasn't sure what Gabriel was trying, but she figured she'd piss Murdoch off enough into making some sort of mistake.

Gabriel's point, that they'd figure something was up drew her attention back to him. Shit. She'd have to send out a message as soon as she could. Let Tony and Cas know it was a trap.

"Don't tell me what I need, angel. Your powers are useless here." His Captain would be pleased with his efforts. "Oh, I know they're coming. They're all going to come. They all want to be heroes and save their friends. This one would do anything to save the two of you. He wants so badly to try." He might have talked lightly of it, but he had to act.

He smiled at Heather again, a sly grin. "Such language Heather. Your petty little insults are rather entertaining you know." Pulling her back with him, he started walking backward, towards the room. "You come with me now, angel. Or you go back and warn all your friends. Either way, we win. You can stay on the ship, or lose these two. The choice is yours." His steps continued taking he and Heather backward, his grip on her arm strong.

"Wow. So my choice is lose them or lose everyone. And my incentive to go with you is what exactly? I can't save them right? My power doesn't work here. And you can't hold me and the girl so I get to cock block Captain Ahab's plan.

I think I'll take the option where I get to piss you off.

Take the girl and the Hood. I'll go, rally the troops and basically make you sorry you were born. Sounds good, Will?" Gabriel grinned, his confidence utterly convincing.

Heather had all the confidence in the world in Gabriel. "You know... His wife is something you've never seen before. And I bet she could sniff your ass out, no matter what body you took." She didn't like the idea of being a hostage though. Even though that was what she was, even now. But everything in her told her not to let him drag her into that room.

"Sorry Robin, when you're back to yourself I'll kiss it better, I promise." She knew Robin's thin boots wouldn't Murdoch from feeling anything, but the appology would keep him guessing a little. Without anyother warning Heather stomped down as hard as she could on Not!Robin's foot, putting every ounce of her body weight into it. Even if it meant he cut her, it wasn't likely he'd hit a major artery. And it wasn't like Gabriel couldn't fix her right? As long as it kept her out of that fucking room.

They were just outside the room now. But Murdoch's thoughts were becoming desperate. He was a man quickly running out of options. He didn't know what to do next. "By the time you bring them back here we'll be gone," he replied to Gabriel with as much confidence as he could muster.

And then Heather was speaking again. He'd barely registered the meaning of her words before she was slamming her foot down on his. With a shout of pain his hold on her arm reflexively loosened, and in the moment of confusion, he could feel the arm holding the knife move away from her neck. That hadn't been his doing. Before he could stop it, it was Robin, not him, tripping one foot back over the other and forcing him in to the room, landing flat on his back on the wooden floor, the foot still throbbing with pain kicking the door shut with a slam.

Recovering as quickly as he could, Murdoch pushed himself to his feet, stumbling over to the desk, foot burning with each step. His hands, Robin's hands, were shaking as he tried to maintain control. Pulling open one of the drawers, he pulled out the revolver sitting inside, leaning against the front edge of the desk.

"So you'll go and you'll still only have two. Not the whole camp. Still a better result than I'd get following you. You have to be new at this, yeah?" He was enjoying Murdoch's desperation and the fact that Heather seemed to be taking confidence from his. It was just what he wanted.

Good girl he thought, when she fought back. He knew she wouldn't go too far, not with that body.

It was a tumble of limbs and scrambling and Gabriel just had to let him go to the sanctuary of the room. Then it was a gun and that was so easy. All Gabriel had to do was step between the gun and Heather.

"Oh, Will. You were, once upon a time, rather good at your job. What's this huh? You deserve better than this. Now put that down and let's talk. You know you don't have to do this, yeah?"

God love Robin! If the situation hadn't been so dire she might have laughed at the fact that Murdoch seemed to be kicking his own ass. Instead once she was free, after Gabriel stepped between her and the door, she scrambled for the salt. Pouring it across the door jam.

"Don't talk to it! We'll get him out of Robin once we get out of this mess..." Yanking the bells off over her head she threw them toward the doorway, not sure that they would do anything more than make noise... But they would keep her quiet! She pulled the archangel. "Run! The salt will keep him busy till he figures out how to... get out." Break the line, would he know? Did Robin know? Now she was pretty sure she was VERY glad she'd spent the time to watch where Gabriel, Cas, Dean, Sam, Jo, and Anna was from.

He was going to answer Gabriel, the hand holding the gun no longer shaking, in control once more. But then Heather was moving, once more. He stepped closer to the door as they moved away.

"Say goodbye to your brother, Heather!" He called out after her as she got further away. He'd failed his Captain. There was nothing else he could do. He was trapped in here. He barely had an awareness now that this body was no longer his. The gun stayed gripped firmly in his hand as he lifted it.

Gabriel knew what had happened to the original Will Murdoch. He didn't run with Heather. Instead he pulled her aside. "I can't." His voice was sad. "You need to run. I need to stay a little longer. Get out, Heather. Get out and warn them. There's something I have to do. This isn't a negotiation. Get out of here. Warn them. No one else can. Has to be you. Swear to me. You're leaving. You're telling them." He whispered. "I won't let him hurt Robin." He didn't expect her to go but at least hoped she stay out of the room.

Gabriel turned and went back to the office door. "Alright. You got me. Put down the gun and you got me. In there. With you." He stepped over the threshold, his palms up in front of him.

Heather went as white as a sheet when that Scottish brogue, those words, that gun. The Gun wouldn't kill Gabriel, only one thing could. And she really doubted that the First Officer had that in his goodie bag. But she couldn't leave... She shook her head rapidly at Gabriel. He couldn't! What would that do? What kind of power would that give the Captain! What if he wasn't enough.

She leaned heavily against the wall. She'd wait until the gun was down, until there was some sort of deal made. She wasn't about to leave her friends... Her family, and run. Not for her own life. So she didn't have a good sense of self preservation, didn't that get her in the shape she was in? But she couldn't even force herself to move.

"No," Murdoch's response was firm, the gun raising to place against his temple. "Your friend is dead. There's no choice for him, or for you."

He shook his head. "He'll keep you all here forever. This is a mercy." And he could finally be in peace. No longer tormented by the others for what he had done. For sinking the unsinkable ship, as Heather had said. The hand holding the gun had the faintest tremor, though his gaze remained steady.

"I don't think you get to decide what he does, do you? Here forever is still better than nowhere and you don't get to decide who lives and who dies. Yeah people died on your watch but none of that was your fault. You save some, is what you did. Put 'em on boats. Let 'em go.

You don't have any deaths on your conscience so don't start now. You need to keep him? Fine but shooting him will only make the big man mad."

And Gabriel dropped his voice.

"I know you're trapped too but... maybe you don't have to be." Maybe if he was capable of what he thought was kindness he was also capable of self preservation. Gabriel's voice was calm. "You know what we are. Won't be easy but maybe we can do better than dead on the floor, yeah?"

No Heather couldn't let Gabriel make that kind of deal. Not with some sort of stipulation. Heather moved so that she stood right outside the door, right at the line of salt. "Can he hear us Murdoch?" She knew she said some pretty mean stuff, but he was using her as a hostage. What do you expect from an almost redhead pregnant woman?

Her arms crossed over her chest. She wouldn't speak her mind unless she knew Smith couldn't hear her.

"Don't try and confuse me," he told Gabriel angrily. "Don't patronise me and tell me I did a good job." The gun, however, did waver, lowering slightly. He knew the angel was right. And he'd be better off staying inside this one.

He didn't understand what the angel was offering. A way out of this cursed place? He doubted that was possible. At first, he wasn't sure if Heather meant Robin, or Smith. But then he caught on. He glanced over his shoulder, at the other entrance to the cabin, before looking back at them both, the gun lowering right back to his side this time, though still firm in his grip.

"Not yet."

'Dammit, Heather, why are you still here?' The message was sent telepathically and had a long-suffering urgency to it. He wasn't angry but he was very, very worried. Why don't they ever listen?

He returned his attention to Murdoch. "You met me before. You think I'm the kind of guy to make shit up to make you feel better? Hell, I'm not your therapist or your mum. I do think you deserve better than this hand-maiden to the starts crap." He met Will Murdoch's eyes. "And I mean that. So, yeah. If there's something I can do for you I'll do it."
