Who: Robin and Marian
Where: Their house
When: When he gets back from the ship
What: Convincing her she really wants to see the Titanic too.

Pushing the wet hair back off his face, Robin opened the door of Locksley Manor, stepping inside. He'd intended to let Marian know when he was back on deck, but as it turned out, being up on deck after being in a room full of water was rather cold. So he decided to just get back to shore and see her instead.

The door had closed when water had started coming in to the room, forced close by it. He'd been surprised at how quickly it had come in. And just as the call to Marian had ended, he'd seen something. He just couldn't remember what. But since he was back now, he shrugged it off. He wanted a hot shower, and to tell Marian that she had to see the ship. He wasn't sure why, he just knew she had to. It was incredible, and she needed to see it too.

As the minutes ticked by with no call from Robin, Marian found herself getting more and more worried. She knew that he would scoff at her, would doubtless say something about how he could get out of anything, but if the water were high enough to push the door closed... Not to mention the splashing she'd heard before the phone call had ended.

She'd taken to pacing, arms crossed, one hand tightly wound about her phone, though as the front door opened, she spun toward it, half expecting there to be someone there advising her that the ship in the lake had sunk. Instead, she was happy to see her husband standing there, even if he were soaked.

She didn't speak at first, rushing toward Robin, her arms winding about him. "You were supposed to call," Marian reminded him. "As soon as you were on deck."

"I thought you'd prefer it if I got back and avoided getting sick," he replied with a fond smile, amusement lacing his words as he returned her hold. Obviously, she was not too concerned with getting her clothes wet.

"It was no problem, the door opened easily enough." As soon as he'd gotten to it, as far as he could recall. "You really need to come and see the ship, Marian. It's great."

She scoffed at that. "After you almost drowned?" She questioned, pulling back to look up at him, concerned eyes roaming to make sure that nothing was wrong apart from his soaked clothing.

"I think not, my little wanderer."

"I didn't almost drown. That is a gross exaggeration," he replied with a grin, allowing her her moment of inspection. He knew it was to reassure herself, and he wouldn't begrudge her that. "Just got my feet wet."

He laughed when she called him that, reaching down to pull off his wet boots before heading for the stairs. "Little wanderer? Where did you come up with that. Both parts," he amended with a smirk over his shoulder at her. "Why not? Don't you want to see it?"

More than his feet, though she wouldn't press it too much. This had the potential to escalate into an argument rather quickly.

"Does it not apply?" Eyes were wide and innocent. She knew which part he would take offense to.

"And no, not especially. It's a ship; I don't understand the draw. Especially when it's a leaky ship."

"You are an endless source of amusement Marian." He didn't need to look at her to know she had adopted that terrible impersonation of an innocent expression. Heading in to their room, he pulled his wet shirt off over his head.

"It's not just any ship, Marian. It's one of the most famous ships in history. Or, more recent history at least. And we don't have to go down as far as I did. We can stay on dry land. So to speak."

Oh he was amused, was he? Perhaps not the best thing to say to one's wife. Having followed him up the stairs, Marian leaned against the door jamb, arms crossing as she watched him.

"So it's a famous ship. It's still a leaky one. I might prefer to stay on actual dry land."

He met her gaze when she crossed her arms, raising an eyebrow in question. He was just teasing her, as she well knew. Moving to the cupboard, he took out some dry clothes. This was far too entertaining at the moment. Maybe he'd save the shower for later. Besides, he wanted her to agree.

"We can stay on the top deck, then. Just so you can get one look at it. Doesn't it interest you at all?" He didn't understand why she wasn't as interested in history as he was. He had been since they'd come here.

Perhaps because history was written by the victors. Or, perhaps she was just happy to live in the moment, and didn't understand Robin's need to learn about everything that had happened between their time and the present.

"Not particularly." He was pressing the matter more than he normally would, and Marian wasn't sure that she liked it. "Maybe I'm just not a ship person."

He saw the change in her expression, there wasn't much she could hide from him when it came to how she was feeling, and he realised he couldn't keep pushing, for the moment. She would grow suspicious, or upset. Suspicious of what, he wasn't sure. Just that she would be.

So he shrugged, changing his clothes before sitting on the edge of the bed to pull on some dry socks. "You're just saying that because your last experience on one was not the best."

Pushing herself off the doorjamb, Marian came to sit beside him, close enough that their arms brushed against each other. "True enough." That it hadn't been the best voyage. "But the point still stands."
