Who: Crowley, Heather and later Sirius
When: Ten minutes after the siren went off
Where: Not where they are supposed to be
What: Enjoying the weather (Crowley), not soooo much enjoying the weather (Heather), trying to do some saving (Sirius)
Rating: How about middle?
Status: Incomplete

The storm tore at his cloths but did not damage them. Crowley grinned like a madman. It had been a couple of years since the last time he had seen a storm like this. Well, Armageddon had been quite creative in the weather department but he had been too busy saving the world (and his own arse) to enjoy it.

Crowley walked into his store. It sounded like an underground station. The wind rattled at the walls and the demon whistled with delight. He saw a movement and raised his eyebrows. “Hello there. Beautiful weather, eh?” Crowley smirked.

Shoving her way through the glass double doors, Heather was a little surprised to see someone in side. It would have been her last choice in hiding places, with the glass front. The voice... Voices stuck with her better than faces sometimes. "Hey, you're that guy that was inside Tony's body. It actually kinda reminds me of home, the bad part of home." Everybody had seen Wizard of Oz hadn't they? No she wasn't Dorothy, but this sure as hell wasn't Kansas either. She couldn't recall what his name was. Had she even caught it?

As the windows began to flex and figured it was a bad time for introductions. Booking no argument she snagged him by the arm and began hightailing it down one of the isles. "Trust me though, in front of those windows, when they go, is the last place your gonna want to be."

"Guilty,” Crowley stated with an air of pride. Being guilty was never a bad thing for a demon. The whole thing had been quite inconvenient for him but at least he had been able to disappoint quite a few guests. Crowley watched the tiny woman in front of him until he got dragged away.

The demon had never considered bursting windows a worthy thread and highly doubted that they would even dare to choose the place where he stood as their escape route. The last piece of glass that had felt brave enough to attack him, had regretted it immediately. Crowley was sure. Being melted and then reborn as the camera lens of a hobby filmmaker who had a special fondness of recording boring and uneventful family dinners was not a favourable fate. Not even for a piece of glass.

Crowley shook his head. This was definitely a human who Arziraphale would be proud of. She tried to help a demon instead of saving her own arse. Well, she could also be considered very dumb in Crowley's mind. “So, why is it that you didn’t scurry down the tunnels like everyone else did?”

Heather wasn't the sort to run away by herself, when someone else, demon or no, could get shredded by glass. Even if he could heal from it. She ducked down as low as she could at the back of one of the isles. Tugging him down with her. "Well... I've been tying stuff down, to make sure no one would get killed by a flying umbrella or something like that..." She trailed off. Sure he probably didn't want to know this next part, but she mentioned it anyway. "And I'm kinda avoiding my boyfriend." Who was no doubt down in the tunnels like everyone else.

The buzzing of her phone, she kept it in vibration mode, had her checking it over and frantically shooting a few messages back and forth to Cas. "Um. I wouldn't normally ask this, and you can totally say no and I'll tell him you did anyway, that way he doesn't get pissed at you. But Cas wants me to ask you to shield me. I realize your a demon and saving people from their own stupidity isn't exactly your thing. So I wont hold it against you if you say no." Cas would, but she wouldn't tell Cas if she could help it.

Instead of crouching down beside the woman, Crowley let himself fall into a chair1. "What a honourable thing of you to do..." the demon stated and crossed his arms behind his head to become more comfortable.

The question caught Crowley off-guard. "I don't plan on getting hurt. It would spoil a perfectly good shirt, you know." It was one thing to occasionally do Zira's job and this place, Crowley thought, needed more miracles than misfortune, but a completly different one to say it out aloud.

1 The chair had not been there seconds ago but for Crowley it had seemed like a proper place for a chair to stand and normally, objects tended to agree with Crowley's logic.

Heather wasn't overly surprised by the chair. She was friends with Gabriel, who often made things appear out of thin air. If an archangel could do it, why couldn't a demon?"I wouldn't call it honourable. Just the right thing to do."

She figured it didn't hurt to ask. So she simply shrugged of. "I don't think anyone plans on getting hurt, it just happens." Like she didn't completely plan to hide out in the grocery store. It was crazy. But she didn't really have much of a choice, it was either in here, with the plate glass windows in the front, or lay on the ground and just pray it's not an F5 or worse.

A loud popping caught her ears, and she raised her head just enough to see that the glass in the front was starting to crack. "They are't going to hold much longer. I kinda wish I would have got to boarding them up." She was talking more to herself than she was to him.

"The right thing to do always depends on your point of view." Crowley retorted. Surely, it wouldn't have been the right thing to do for him.

The moment Crowley turned his heas towards the window, the glass decided that it was time for an adventure. Surprisingly, no shard decided to explore the place where Crowley and Heather sat. "Well, well, I would say your assumption was right."

Heather yelped as soon as the window shattered. Curling up as tightly as she could, she waited. And waited. Expecting to be hit by something. "Are you doing that?" She dare not do more than peak through the small space between her elbow and shoulder, from her arms being drawn over her face. It could be just a simple turn of luck. But you never could tell.

Maybe he was just protecting his perfectly good shirt, and she happened to be lucky enough to be close enough for that bit of protection.

"Now, why would I do that?" Crowley asked, smirking. He got to his feet and strolled towards the back of the shop. He grabbed two bottles of beer and returned to the woman.

"Want one?" He offered her a beer and let himself sink onto the chair again.

"I don't know, you seem to really like that shirt." She teased lightly. "Maybe I'm just lucky enough to be close enough to you to benefit." Why she was trusting a demon, she'd never know, but slowly she uncurled from her duck and cover posture.

Her fingers curled around the beer he offered. "Thanks. For the shielding and the beer." She twisted the top off. Working maintenance was good for something.

"I do," Crowley said. It was his own creation after all. "Yes, you are very lucky indeed."

"Don't thank me," he answered and meant it. Hearing the word 'thanks' from a human made him feel guilty. The bottle cap popped open and took a sip, enjoying the cool taste.

"Is there some other way you'd prefer for me to show gratitude? Cause... I was raised to give thanks when it was called for." She was willing to bend. She needed to know compromise, considering the way things were going in this place.

She took a sip from that long necked bottle. Already Heather knew she'd miss stuff like this. Once she gave it all up.

She shook her head, just before taking another sip from the beer. "Alright I wont say the words. But... Anything nice you do, is appreciated. Especially since your a demon." Why especially? Well, from what Heather understood it was against a demon's nature to do anything nice for anybody. Unless it benefited them somehow. His yellow eyes were creepy, but around here it wasn't surprising. "You know the kid in the Christmas Story had yellow eyes." She said in an off hand way.

Crowley made a mental note to steal something from the woman. Though this whole place reeked of chaos, he had to maintain a certain image. Yes, balance was important but so was keeping his good – or in his case rather his bad – reputation. The demon’s attention was suddenly owned by a young man who had appeared out of nowhere. The black-haired teen glanced around in confusion. The emotion fell of his face and was replaced by relief as he spotted the woman.

“Heather, thank god. We were worried sick about you. Let’s get you out of here.”

(Ooc: Yes, Crowley will steal something from her. You can pick it. ^^)

Just because he did the occasional nice thing didn't mean she actually trusted him, just made her appreciate the fact that he did the occasional nice thing a little more. Heather had been about to say as much when Sirius appeared. She knew he was a wizard, because his older self had rescued her from being nommed by zombies. This one knew it only because she'd told him as much, but he wouldn't have logically remembered the indecent. Still she felt as if she owed him an unpayable debt of gratitude.

"Um I don't think going anywhere is exactly wise." Pointing toward the front of the store.

(OoC: Would she get this item back? xD Cause I have a few ideas.)

Sirius' heart was beating quickly. He shook his head at Heather's word. "How does apparating sound, eh? Quick, fast, easy. Not dangerous at all." He offered her his hand but knew that if she refused, he would apparate her out anyway.

(Ooc: Nope. Though Crowley is a rather modern demon, he would never even dream of giving it back. xD)

Taking his hand, using it as leverage, Heather hauled herself up to stand. Glancing back to Crowley all comfy in his chair. "Do we have to go to the tunnels, and... Can you... Um thingie him too?" She'd never apparated before. She wasn't exactly sure how it sounded. But she couldn't leave the demon here all by himself. What if something happened to him? He had been protecting her after all. Sure he'd probably heal but she'd still feel bad.

(OoC: XD Okay I'll have it be something annoying rather than something that would break her heart to lose.)

Crowley chuckled softly. Really, Zira would be so proud of her. "Yeah, sure...", the young man said and seemed to notice him for the first time that evening. He furrowed his eyebrows at the demon.

Suddenly, there was a crash heard from the outside and the earth shook for a moment.1 The young man lost his balance and stumbled into one of the shelves. After standing properly again, the boy glaced at the wooden stick in his hand.

"No, no, no, no, no... you cannot be broken," he whispered into a tantrum.

"Well, I take it that we all stay here now, isn't that lovely?" Crowley said. He had done his research and knew how important those sticks were to a few of the employees. He should find out more about them.

1A tree had decided that his short exploration of the world should end in the grocery. Crowley had disagreed with its plan.

(Ooc: It'll be something that looks quite expensive and Sirius just lost his wand. A bit shitty (for him and for me), don't know if he will get that one back ^^)

Heather stumbled backward as the earth shook. Grabbing onto the shelving behind her for dear life. Once the shaking had stopped her jaw dropped at the sight of Sirius' wand. "Shit." She knew the importance of the wand. She knew she could repair it, but... would it be right? I mean superglue would do the job right?

"Do you have to have something special to fix it?" If not... Maybe Gabriel could.

Glancing back at Crowley. He hadn't done that, had he? No, no. It felt like something heavy had hit the ground right beside the grocery. "I guess I wont have to face Tony after all." She was the sort to look at a glass as half full.

(OoC:Tony did get her quite a few diamonds, which are locked away in a safe under their bed, for Christmas. He had raided Tiffany's while they were in New York since everything was on Petersen. But her prised possessions would be the ring she never takes off, or the necklace that is soldered into place around her neck. Both gifts from the heart from her beloved... But she never removes them, not even to shower.)

His wand was broken. His bloody wand was broken. He was helpless and they were stuck here. He didn't even know how that had happened. Maybe he had steadied himself in the wrong way. Sirius snapped out of his stupor as Heather asked the stranger. The man smirked. "Oh, I can fix it," the guy said. Sirius' look of despair was replaced by pure glee. The man's next word erased that feeling from his body again. "But I won't."

Sirius stared at him. Disbelief turned into anger. "I can bring us out of here. I want to bloody help the two of you, you jerk. Who do you think you are?" Sirius bellowed.

"Wrong question," the other man stated calmly. Sirius wanted to wipe that annoying smile off his face. "The right question would be: What do I think I am? Correct answer: A demon."

Sirius blinked. And then blinked again. Had he just really said 'demon'? Alright, Satan himself was here but so far he hadn't met him. His head snapped into Heather's direction. "You drink beer with a demon?"

(Ooc: The diamond or the necklace could work. The not removing them doesn't actually keep Crowley from doing something to them. How about the necklace turned into one of these necklaces made out of sweets that you can buy on a fair?)

Heather's fists propped up on her hips, sure she was grateful for not getting cut to ribbons by the glass, but getting Sirius' hopes up then dashing them was just plain mean. But Crowley did have a good point. He was a demon. It didn't lighten her glare though. "If he can fix it one of the angels can too. And they're more willing. He's just mad cause I caught him doing something nice." Impishly she stuck her tongue out at Crowley. Sure it was immature, but she wasn't

Sirius' question threw her off just a touch. "Not usually no. He offered it, and it was better than just sitting here waiting for it to be over." She didn't dare tell Sirius that Crowley was pretty much keeping them safe at the moment. If the demon disliked thanks so much she was sure he wouldn't like everyone knowing what he was doing.

(Ooc: Nah to lose that would break her heart, especially with all the drama that's going on. Don't need that added stress with their relationship. BUT she does have a lot of very expensive shoes that she wears in the Ice Room, so if he stole a few pairs it would not only be a hit to her wallet, but it would also be annoying. And no heart ache.)

„I did not do something nissse,“ the demon hissed. He glared at her but a blush crawled onto his face anyway. “And I don’t see any of your angels out here. They don’t seem to care about you.” Actually, it was a pity that Arziraphale wasn’t here. The angel made everything more enjoyable despite his irritating yet amusing habit of feeling the need to cure even the smallest sorrow.

(Ooc: Maybe her purse? I think he would rather go for something she carries on her body.)

Heather was a tad amuse that a demon would blush, but she fought the urge to grin. "Fine we can call it polite instead. And X is in charge, no doubt she's keeping everybody she can down in the tunnels." She had to talk Cas down already, no doubt X had to talk Gabriel down. "There's no point in sending an army when you send a wizard as great as Sirius Black." Okay so she was needlessly ego stroking. Especially after his wand had broke. That had to be a ball buster.

(OoC: She doesn't carry a purse, she'd have a wallet in her back pocket though. O.o with the magic key that lets her into everywhere. But... Crowley wouldn't need that would he?)

Sirius wasn't sure if Heather was mocking him or if she really meant what she had said. He decided that it was the latter and his chest swelled a bit.

"Wow, human have angels as pets now?" the demon said deadpan. Sirius glared. It was the right thing to do when you looked at a demon after all. "Oh, yes, I can see just how great he is."

"Alright, you should better piss off, demon," Sirius snapped at his opposite.

"Or you'll do what?"

"Or I'll..." Well, that was a good question. Sirius got out his mobile and cursed. Flat battery? Oh come one, it had been fully charged a few minutes ago. "Shit."

(Ooc: A wallet sounds good to Crowley's ears. No I highly doubt that a demon who can use telephone lines for transportation needs a magical key. But it would annoy Heather and therefore he would definitly steal it. ^^)

"No, humans have angels as friends. And X isn't human. And Gabriel is totally her fiancée... Sort of." Her hands propped up on her hips again. Banter with a demon was one way to pass the time. "He is great he can take out a whole horde of zombies with one spell." She wasn't about to let Crowley deflate a much deserved ego.

She pulled out her mobile when Sirius did. Noting that her battery was dead too. There was no way to tell Cas if she was okay or not once the storm was over. "Well crap I was full up just a second ago."

(ooc: She totally wouldn't notice until she needed it, or went to take it out of her pocket to get ready for bed. Which would be two days from the storm. XD So she wouldn't know he stole it she'd just assume she lost it.)

"Friends? Fiancées? That's even better..." Crowley chuckled. This placed seemed to work differently. In his world something like that was unimaginable or at least went along with a future full of punishment. And wasn't it Gabriel Zira was always complaining about?

"Come on, you can't be serious!" the supposedly great wizard said. "You -" The boy frowned. "You killed our batteries." The demon raised his eyebrows at Black's choice of words.

"That's possible," he retorted.

"What, demons don't have friends? People they love?" That would be a sad existence indeed, no matter what you were. She knew Gabriel had prospered from having friends, from having X, and from sharing responsibilities of her son.

Her attention was snatched back by Sirius. She flashed her dead phone at the boy. "Dead as a doornail." Though the accusation was.... Well it didn't really surprise her. She simply slipped the dead mobile back into her pocket.

Without much else to do she sat back down on the floor. "We might as well sit it out. It shouldn't last too much longer."

„No. Of course not,“ the demon answered immediately. The truth was something he rather kept between Aziraphale and himself. “Ever tried to chat with a demon? They are annoying.” Crowley smirked and heard Black snort.

The demon had to admit he liked the practical way the woman looked at things. It reminded him a lot of, well, himself. “Right you are. I’ll get us something to drink.” He got up and started to collect everything that had even the lowest amount of alcohol in it.

“Heather, we should get out of here as fast as we can!” he heard the boy whisper as he dove into the next isle. This should turn out as a very entertaining night.

"Have to say you're the first one I've spoken too, but you were also the first that I ever met face to face too. The hissing can be a little off putting. But otherwise it's not so bad." She did have a bit of a conversation with Lucifer, but that was over the message board, and she wasn't wholly comfortable talking to the head demon in person. "I wouldn't trust you with my first born or anything but... I'd rather talk to you than that Claire chick if she ever showed back up." Yep the cheerleader had been a real bitch. And she was just human, even if she was one with special powers.

Heather was tempted to tease the demon, mention that it was nice that he was going to get them something to drink. Something to pass the time, and numb that little ache that she was managing to hide from the pair. But she didn't.

Sorely tempted to pet the top of his head, Sirius gained her attention again. "I can't go out there. And without your wand you probably shouldn't either. We can leave as soon as the wind dies down. In fact I am cause... I'd need to take stock of the damage done." This was one of the few out buildings that didn't have a basement. Though she'd be sure to get Petersen to fix that once this was over.

(Hmm. Her drivers licence, with a rather dorky picture. Maybe a few useless dollars, A picture of Tony, and a picture of her Dad. The key. She'd definitely feel naked without it tough.)

He had a point. A very good valid point. "I don't know. I know the first time I met him he was drinking, but I was kinda shnockered myself. So I don't recall if they can or not. All I remember is he looked exactly like Tony. Down to the little scar on his nose." Unable to help herself, once Sirius plopped down, she leaned over and placed a light kiss on his cheek. "Thanks for coming to my rescue though. It't the second time you've risked yourself to do it." She was trying to cheer him up. It wasn't as if they were in any immediate danger. It was in the demon's interest not to let his store get all messed up, wasn't it?

"He looked like... oh," Sirius said. "That means he's like a metamorphmagus. That's dangerous. If he can turn into anything he wants, we have to be very careful. We shouldn't leave each other's side." The kiss on the cheek ripped him out of the auror program that had taken over his mind. "No prob. That's my job," he answered, sitting straighter than before.

"Well yeah, he's probably like the angels and can pick a vessel. Though... I imagine the vessel has to be willing, if he's a lesser demon." She wasn't entirely sure if that was right. But it made sense. Both Gabriel and Cas had mentioned that their bodies were vessels and not their own.

Some how she doubted it was really his job, but she was glad that he'd done it. "I'm just hoping I can repay the favor one day." Maybe when it came time for his girlfriend to give birth?

Crowley snorted as he returned to the two humans. Demonologists and Santanists always made him squirm. Well, at least it was good to know that they did not have a clue about what he could do.

"Err... you call it cowardly to be up h-" The man stopped abruptly and turned his head to Crowley. "Beer?" the demon offered him an open bottle. The man frowned and then took it reluctantly.

Crowley placed the rest of the liquor on the table and raised his own bottle. "To a nice and cosy evening."

There was little point in not continuing off where he was going to ask. Heather reached for her half full bottle. "I'd rather face rain wind and flying glass instead of someone that's down in the tunnels." She wasn't a mind reader but it was obvious as to what Sirius was asking.

Her eyes cut to Crowley. "It would be better spent on a porch without the strong winds. But to each his own, I guess." To be honest the weather kinda suited Heather's mood at the moment. The bottle she'd fetched was drawn to her lips and a deep long swig taken from it. Didn't she say she'd stop drowning her sorrows? It seemed it was easier said than done too.

"That's stupid," Sirius mumbled absentmindedly. Who would rather face real life-threatening danger than a person? Unless said person was dangerous. But Sirius doubted that. Sirius did not get around to scold Heather though, as the demon got his whole attention again. Maybe he should start carrying holy water. That would help against a demon, wouldn't it?

Reluctantly, Sirius sipped his beer and was surprised to find out that it actually tasted like it should. "You have to make the best out of a situation," the demon said. Sirius agreed silently and hoped that this really was the best they could make out of it. His eyes scanned the shop for something that could be used as a weapon. But the bottles in front of him were the best he could find.

"And the best for a demon is to hang around with humans?" Sirius asked drily.

"Well, I would prefer the company of someone else but I think he's busy and I doubt that we can order something at the restaurants right now," the demon answered with a smile.

Heather grunted in response. She knew it wasn't the smartest thing she'd done. She just couldn't face Tony, if he was going to tell her he didn't love her, or simply keep that fence up, she'd rather face a tornado. He'd knocked down all her walls. There was nothing to hold her up if he broke her heart. And that was one of the things she was terrified of.

"Yeah, I have to agree with the demon." That was the strangest sentence she'd ever heard come out of her own mouth and it showed on her face. Shaking the idea off, she washed it away by emptying her bottle.

"Ooh who would you rather be trapped in a tornado with, Mister Demon?" Heather teased lightly. She was in a twinkie mood. Standing she went over to the next isle. She knew where the snack cakes were. Snagging a few random boxes she marched back around to sit back in her place, after snagging another bottle of beer.
