Who: Anna and Crowley
What: Crowley just loves to harass Anna
Where: Anna's place
When: After Dean's gone
Warnings: Will update if necessary

Despite his over all reputation, Crowley had at least semi good intentions concerning Sam Winchester's soul. He'd known the soul wasn't fit for reinstatement when he wrestled it out of Hell. he'd tried to smooth out some of the rough edges with Anna's Grace, and when Gabriel took it back, he'd been left with nothing powerful enough to have much effect. He didn't regret his decision to hang on to it, but he regretted that he'd been zapped away from the resort, leaving it unguarded and there for the taking. Well, it wasn't his probkem anymore. Whatever happened now, they only had themselves to blame. Too bad Sam wold be caught up in the middle of it all, Crowley actually sort of liked the soulless bastard.

But he had another, more pressing interest. And that was Anna. The mother of his child, if not by choice. Whatever Gabriel had done to make the baby 'normal' he couldn't change the fact it was Crowley's. Or at least the spawn of his vessel. Same thing, as far as he was concerned. Point was, he had a legitimate claim, though he had no interest in the kid; not while it was an infant anyway. Later on, a few years down the road, it might be a different story.

Just the same, he went calling on Anna with a peace offering. He'd managed to procure a triple chocolate cake. Death By Chocolate, it was called. And it looked like death was possible. Crowley was certain he felt an artery close up just looking at it, and clogged arteries weren't really a problem for him.

He tried the door and found it open. Without so much as knocking or calling out that he was there, Crowley let himself in.

Anna was asleep, something she'd been doing a lot of lately. She couldn't really do much else with the way her son responded to any sort of exertion lately. She walked down the stairs to the kitchen and the kid was making her cramp up bad enough she'd had to stop for a few minutes until it passed and then take more of the pills. She was sure they weren't supposed to be used like that, but he needed to stay where he was for at least another month. She was sure she couldn't handle him being premature and needing ICU, so it was just better to keep him in and use her Grace to smooth things over.

Of course her exerting herself wasn't the only thing he responded to. Music, loud noises, the cat or Johan pressed against him. And now this. She had no idea what was going on when he started kicking her insides, but she knew enough to wake up. Her hand reached down to try and soothe him through her belly, the physical added to her Grace. It wasn't until Sebastian jumped off the bed that she realized Crowley was there. She sensed him before she even rolled over to see him.

Chocolate cake. She rolled her eyes, huffing as she sat up. "I don't want that." Except they both knew she did.

"Shame it'll have to go to waste then." Crowley put the cake on the table beside Anna's bed. "Maybe I'll give it to the mutt, at least he'd have the decency to be appreciative." Johann sneered at the reference, but made no sound. He looked hopefully at the plate, the cake still neatly wrapped in cellophane. After a moment Johann stretched and dropped his head to rest on his massive paws. Crowley paid him no mind.

Crowley sat down in the chair off to the side. he dragged it close enough he could prop his legs up on the bed. He could tell Anna hadn't been alone, and he knew it was Dean who had been with her this time. He could smell his scent lingering in the air, and it very nearly repulsed Crowley. "What'd Winchester want?"

"I can't be sure you're not trying to poison me. Wouldn't be any different than anything else you've ever done to me." Which was, more or less, the truth, even if she didn't actually expect him to poison her chocolate cake. The point remained. Every time he doted on her, he was doing as much harm as good. He'd spent two months taking care of her while withholding the thing that could have saved her. She wasn't about to just give in. She couldn't risk it. She wasn't letting herself fall for that shit again, wasn't letting him hurt her or their son. It was hard enough just dealing with their son at the moment.

Anna watched Johan because it was easier than watching Crowley. She didn't want to look at him, much less be around him. The hound at least was loyal, obedient and protective. And after a second he hopped up on the bed and dropped his head in her lap.

"Jealous?" She wasn't telling him anything. He didn't need to know anything he didn't already know. And considering he hadn't interrupted when Dean actually was around, she figured he must have known nothing was happening anyway. And the less she put up with his crap, the sooner he'd go away. Hopefully. "What do you want, Crowley?"

"Jealous? Of Winchester?" Crowley laughed, actually laughed. The sound startled Johann, but he recovered and dropped his head down again. Crowley shook his head. "Anna, Anna, Anna. When will you ever learn? I don't want anything." At least nothing he was going to take while she looked like a beached whale.

He wasn't going to poison her cake either. He hadn't even made the cake. He'd had it made, and it was as safe as it could be. He glanced at it, sitting there on the table, and considered giving it to Johann just to make a point. He wouldn't feed his hound poison cake, after all.

"You always want something. You're the king of conniving." She rolled her eyes. Any time Crowley was anywhere, he wanted something. And she knew he had the patience to put in the time to get whatever he was after. At this point she wasn't sure what it was. Her, obviously, she just couldn't figure out why. And asking him wasn't going to get her anywhere.

Anna sighed, settling back against the headboard. She dropped her hand to stroke Johan's head. He nuzzled up under her belly as she scratched behind his ears. She missed having him around, not that she would admit that. Because admitting that gave Crowley an in, and he definitely didn't need anymore of those. It was irritating, but she couldn't shake the paranoia.

"Why me, Crowley? What is it about me that makes you keep coming?" It was probably that she was stupid and kept falling for it. She couldn't really blame him when she kept making herself an easy target. He was a demon after all. It was in his nature to want to hurt her. Especially her, being an angel.

"Why not you?" Crowley asked. They had history, for one. The angel versus demon thing was another factor. "Maybe I just like your company," He shrugged. That could have been as true as any other reason.

So he was a demon. He played games. he sometimes did spiteful things, like keep her Grace from her when she sort of needed it. But he'd only done it to make her stronger. he hadn't, and he wouldn't have, let her die. And he'd needed the Grace to try and smooth out the rough edges off Sam's damaged soul. He was a bastard by nature, but sometimes he did things with a dual purpose; sometimes he actually tried to do something nice, or at least halfway decent.

Anna rolled her eyes. Although, honestly, she wasn't sure if it was the truth or not. In fact, she was fairly certain it was true. That wasn't what irritated her. What irritated her was the way he said it. "And maybe you just like the thrill of lording yourself over an angel." Which, as far as she was concerned, was what he was doing.

She didn't care that he had a reason for keeping her Grace. She didn't care that he always had more than one reason for everything. She cared that he hurt her in the process. That it was his nature to hurt her. She was sick of everyone hurting her, sick of the fact that the only guy who didn't want to leave her was a demon. She hated that the fact that he was destined to hurt her outweighed everything else.

"Honestly, Anna. The last thing on my mind is the fact that you're an angel." She sure didn't act like one. Definitely not in the bed. Oh, yeah. He was pretty sure angels didn't do the sorts of things she did, when the lights were out and the doors were closed.

"Especially now. Looks like you're trying to smuggle basketballs, and not going a very good job of it." He shook his head, almost amused. Except soon there would be a squalling baby to contend with. He almost considered cutting his losses and moving on. But the fact was he liked Anna, and not only for the sex, though that was definitely a factor.

Anna huffed. She wanted to throw something at him, but she was pretty sure that would be futile at this point. What was she going to accomplish by hitting him with a pillow? It wouldn't even make her feel better. No, she was just stuck dealing with it since her good for nothing brother couldn't be bothered to keep his promise to her.

Taking a small breath, Anna attempted to find some modicum of composure. Johan lifted his head, as if sensing her irritation, and she felt him growl in his chest, although she wasn't sure if it actually made any sound. Still, it was enough to at least amuse her. She sent the dog away a million times and he still was protective of her.

"Flattery will get you no where, Crowley." She rolled her eyes. As if she didn't already feel horrid and overweight.

No, Crowley knew flattery would get him anywhere he wanted to be. Anna was so starved for attention, she didn't really care if it was positive or not. She just wanted someone to pay attention to her, and Crowley did that, but on his own terms. And she generally stood toe to toe with him, which was why they worked so well together.

He stood and adjusted his belt. "Enjoy the cake." He nodded toward the plate. "Or give it to the mutt. I could care less." He moved toward the door. He half hoped she'd call him back, so he wouldn't leave. He didn't really expect it, though, not at this stage of the game they were playing.

Anna wasn't above flattery and they both knew it. Not that Crowley was flattering her. He was being an arrogant egotistical prick. He just assumed he could come around and she'd be okay with it. He didn't put any real effort forth, he just assumed she should accept what he was willing to give. Anna wasn't playing that game. She was sick of always being the only one sacrificing.

"You're not taking your hound?" She wanted Johan gone lessthan she wanted Crowley gone, but she was done showing him weakness. She couldn't risk it, especially if she wasn't getting anything in return. "And I don't need that cake, I'm already a freaking cow."

"Come, boy," Crowley tapped his leg. Johann gave Anna a rather forlorn look, but got up to answer Crowley's command. He jumped off the bed and fell in to step at Crowley's heels. Crowley shooed him out the door. He left the cake, though he didn't care if Anna ate it or not. He had no want or need of it.

He headed outside in to the night. Johann followed with a heavy, thudding step. Crowley stepped back to let Johann in front of him. He nudged the hound from behind, to get him moving. "Stop your moping, it's very unbecoming of a 'Hound."

Johann just hung his head and kept walking forward.
