Filtered against the Guests
I hate this. I just gave a guest my whole damn life story. Well.. most of it, anyway. They just ask me a few questions. I answer it. But then I keep going. It's like I really want to tell them what I'm thinking. Like it's some impulse and I can't resist against it.

One time, they ask if they could stay later in the water. Like, until after hours, you know? I said that it'd be great if they lost a few pounds before coming back to the beach again, lest they scare off the rest of the guests. And that it may also be a good idea not to come back at all. And she didn't really look that ba-- oh, yes she did. See?? I can't even fib to sugarcoat anything. Seriously. This can stop anytime now, please.

Sometimes, it's within the guest's best interest to hear the truth, darling. I make it my perrogative to be as blunt and honest as much as possible. It usually gets the best results.

Yeah.. guess there's that. Maybe it'll give them that edge to go get into shape.

Precisely. Besides, lying is never good. I find honesty to be proof of intelligence and confidence. You don't want to be viewed as a cowardly pathetic little man, now do you?

No, I don't want that.. I prefer to be viewed as the opposite of that description. I'm usually honest. Kinda stretch things a bit but only when I gamble. But I usually say what I think even if Caleb didn't believe me for a while.

I don't think many men would want to be considered that.

Ah, lying to further advance your chances of winning. I believe we are all guilty of that. I can't think of one celebrity, CEO, or High Profile nobody that hasn't furthered their career by fixing the odds to their liking. That's not lying, it's called the game of life.

I'd prefer to be seen as brave, big, and not pathetic. I've been brave before. Fought a lot. And reckless too, probably more than I should have been.

I bet politicians do it all the time. And lawyers too. But of course, there's nothing wrong with winning now and then.

Bravery goes beyond just fighting, darling. If that were the case gang-bangers and wife beaters would be considered brave. If fighting is all that you have counting towards your bravery, it's safe to agree that you are reckless.

There is nothing wrong with winning all the time. Strive for perfection, Mister Garwin. No one likes a loser.

Well... I did want to stand off with my best friends against an evil warlock once.

I always strive for being perfect, or at least close to it.

Ah, but see, that went beyond fighting. I don't doubt that you are brave, Mister Garwin, I just doubt you fully understand being brave doesn't necessarily mean you go have a bar fight every week.

Good. That's all any of us can truly ask for.

That impulse you're talking about has been a whole lot of fun.

You mean, like seeing their shocked reactions when you tell people exactly what's on your mind or what you think of them?

Wow, well, sometimes you just have to say what's on your mind. I did the same thing though. There was this huge guy that came into the resort to check in and asked where the elevator was and I told him that he should take the stairs instead. The look on his face almost made me slap myself.

I did feel like a weight lifted off me after I said it. It's almost worth it to see the look on their faces.

Yeah I mean I did too. But at the same time I felt like a complete bitch. He had those hurt feelings. But at the same time I think that it needed to be said. So how did that woman react?

Well.. I had a mark on my face for a while. Trust me, it's no fun getting slipped by a lady when she's pissed off.
