I've noticed you all have a lot of issues and frustrations, and well, just seem to be having a lot of complaints on this situation we're all stuck in. I was wondering, any of you willing to go on some walk-a-bouts in the woods? Whenever you're not on the clock come contact me, my ears are open to your problems you might like to share. It might be nice to get some fresh air and clear your mind.

P.S. I am in Cabin #5 or just contact me on the network if you're interested.

- Locke

I've been all through the woods already. I'm pretty sure I know them better than you.

Leah don't be a bitch... John's just trying to be a nice guy, he's offering to do for us what he does for the guests.

I'm not being a bitch. It's true. I probably do know the woods better than him. So do you.

Yeah but are we really the social type to offer... What he's offering? Plus he's got age over ours. I'm thinkin' it might not be a bad idea for you to go out with him. I maybe smelling just one of 'us'... But I'm fairly sure I smelled another predator that wasn't me or you.

Ummm.. no. I'm not saying it's a bad thing that he does that. Just that I won't be partaking.

Why are you telling me to go with him. He's a hiking guide. I'm sure he can handle a predator, or at least the manager thinks he can.

I could smell it too, but that doesn't mean anything, it could be any one of the people here, Jake.

Ah okay.

I'm sure he can too, but...

Well you've been here longer than I have, you'd know if it was one of the people here? If we can keep one of the people that work here from getting hurt because he doesn't know... Well... I'm just saying.

You worry too much, Jake. except about yourself

I don't know. I've been here longer, yes, but most of these people don't have the right scents.

Yeah well some don't worry enough.

Maybe we should have everybody get together while we're in wolf form and collect their smells?

Because that wouldn't sound creepy at all.

"Attention Ridgeway employees! Would everyone please gather outside the cabins so that I can sniff your butt? Thank you."

Yep. That'll work out really well.

You should really stop messing with him. You'll only make him want to do this even more to show you up, and I really don't want to.

I agree with Alice...

I also don't like the thought of being all wolfy around a lot of people I don't know.. and don't yet trust.

Who you end up with. What happens in the battle with the volturi, or even what happens to Bella.

But just try to get that out of me.

Oouch, I don't want to know all of that. I mean, I want to know what happens to Bella... But not if.. you know.

I could so get it out of you if I wanted, all I would have to do is think the line.

You probably do. But, life is a journey.

Though, I obviously wouldn't go out into the woods with no woodland knowledge at all. I have experience, and my job requires me to be a hiking guide so that is just more woodland knowledge under my belt for the future.

What exactly do you do on a walk-a-bout?

(Reply to this) (Thread)

[info]what_he_can_do
2010-05-05 10:00 pm UTC (link)
Well, the true nature of a walkabout is a "Rite of Passage" for Australian Aborigine young men to go on a journey. But in all honesty, I'm just talking about a normal hike in the woods.

If you're interested you could also bring friends, it could also be a sort of way to get to know one another better.

Think of it a means to learn more of the place we're all stuck in. Knooks and crannies, and what-not.

Hiking is also great exercise, physically, mentally and emotionally. There's no need to feel cooped up and be driven crazy doing a dead-end job against your will, right?

If the chance you shared them with me, what purpose would I have use for them? I'm just a man, after all.

It's simply a possibility. You don't have to even say a word to me the entire hike, both choices have their own ways of healing the troubled mind.

Well, I guess it's been a while since I had someone to speak to...in that way. It's just that I didn't have the best experience with my latest...guide.

I'd take hiking over singing any day, but I'm not very good when it comes to articulating my feelings. But I'll try. Maybe. Thanks.
