Riddle Gifts Exchange Sign up Post
This is the sign up post for the gift exchange. If you want to sign up for the ficathon, you can do so here.
Please make sure you have read the rules carefully and understood them.
1. Do NOT request or offer to write smut in the exchange if you are under the age of 18. Do not claim a prompt that clearly asks for smut, and do not write R and NC-17 fics in the ficathon if you are not yet 18. Same goes for art of course.
2. If you join the exchange, you agree to write/draw for someone. Please keep this in mind while working on your assignment. The goal and challenge is to create a work that pleases your assigned recipient. Also, please keep in mind that there is someone working on a gift for you, too. If you decide to do both exchange and ficathon, you are only allowed to claim one prompt.
3. Exchange participants, if you drop out, you will be banned from participation in next year's exchanges and your gift will be reassigned. If you absolutely have to drop out, please let me know as early as possible, so I can arrange a pinch hit.
Ficathon participants, if you have to drop out, that's perfectly all right; however, please let me know ASAP, so I can reopen your prompts.
4. All fics, for both exchange and ficathon, must be at least 1,000 words long, spell checked, and beta read. Artwork should be more than a quick & dirty scribble.
5. The mod reserves the right to return a story or an artwork if she feels that it does not meet quality or rating requirements. This applies more to the exchange entries, however, please make sure that the ficathon works also have an appropriate quality.
6. Please note that the authors and artists of the exchange must stay anonymous until the reveal.
7. All fics and art, for both exchange and ficathon, must be emailed to the mod at riddlefest@gmail.com. Please send fics as a .doc or .txt file and art as an attachment. Artists, it is preferable that you do not add a signature until after reveals. To preserve anonymity, only the mod can post in the community.
I will make a posting schedule, containing both exchange and ficathon entries, and post them beginning on July 17th. The posting time will depend on the number of participants and submitted art and fic, it will not be longer than 4 weeks. I'll try to post 2-4 works every day, however, this will depend on the number of submitted entries.
8. If you submit your assignment for either exchange or ficathon early (two or more weeks before the deadline), you are welcome to browse the list of the remaining prompts and create a second entry for the fest! For your second entry, your deadline will be extended to July 17th.
9. All fics and art remain exclusive to the community until the end of the fest and cannot be posted anywhere else on the internet.
Ficathon participants, you are welcome and encouraged to pimp your entries under your own name during the fest, however it must remain posted only here for the duration. Exchange participants, don't forget you are supposed to remain anonymous.
