Riddle Gifts Exchange Sign up Post
This is the sign up post for the gift exchange. If you want to sign up for the ficathon, you can do so here.

Please make sure you have read the rules carefully and understood them.

1. Do NOT request or offer to write smut in the exchange if you are under the age of 18. Do not claim a prompt that clearly asks for smut, and do not write R and NC-17 fics in the ficathon if you are not yet 18. Same goes for art of course.

2. If you join the exchange, you agree to write/draw for someone. Please keep this in mind while working on your assignment. The goal and challenge is to create a work that pleases your assigned recipient. Also, please keep in mind that there is someone working on a gift for you, too. If you decide to do both exchange and ficathon, you are only allowed to claim one prompt.

3. Exchange participants, if you drop out, you will be banned from participation in next year's exchanges and your gift will be reassigned. If you absolutely have to drop out, please let me know as early as possible, so I can arrange a pinch hit.

Ficathon participants, if you have to drop out, that's perfectly all right; however, please let me know ASAP, so I can reopen your prompts.

4. All fics, for both exchange and ficathon, must be at least 1,000 words long, spell checked, and beta read. Artwork should be more than a quick & dirty scribble.

5. The mod reserves the right to return a story or an artwork if she feels that it does not meet quality or rating requirements. This applies more to the exchange entries, however, please make sure that the ficathon works also have an appropriate quality.

6. Please note that the authors and artists of the exchange must stay anonymous until the reveal.

7. All fics and art, for both exchange and ficathon, must be emailed to the mod at riddlefest@gmail.com. Please send fics as a .doc or .txt file and art as an attachment. Artists, it is preferable that you do not add a signature until after reveals. To preserve anonymity, only the mod can post in the community.

I will make a posting schedule, containing both exchange and ficathon entries, and post them beginning on July 17th. The posting time will depend on the number of participants and submitted art and fic, it will not be longer than 4 weeks. I'll try to post 2-4 works every day, however, this will depend on the number of submitted entries.

8. If you submit your assignment for either exchange or ficathon early (two or more weeks before the deadline), you are welcome to browse the list of the remaining prompts and create a second entry for the fest! For your second entry, your deadline will be extended to July 17th.

9. All fics and art remain exclusive to the community until the end of the fest and cannot be posted anywhere else on the internet.

Ficathon participants, you are welcome and encouraged to pimp your entries under your own name during the fest, however it must remain posted only here for the duration. Exchange participants, don't forget you are supposed to remain anonymous.

List of preferred pairings or characters: Tom/Harry, Tom/Luna, Tom/Angelina Johnson. I also enjoy Tom genfics, especially when he's a child, or a genfic where Tom and Harry are brothers.
List of kinks, possible scenarios: For all pairings and genfic, my biggest requirement is that the characters are as in character as possible. I do not enjoy Harry turning dark, or Tom turning light, etc. Also, no time travels please; I rather like younger or Horcrux!Tom.

Tom/Harry is my OTP. ;-) Anything goes with T/H, but I do enjoy angsty, dark, and/or twisted fics. Ideas would be one where Harry finds unusual solace in Tom Riddle, or vice versa. Dealings with depression, or Harry being Tom's guide in the afterlife. A dose of bittersweet and poignancy will put a smile on my face.

Tom/Luna, I enjoy balance in their relationship. A fic where Tom and Luna are in harmony despite their blatant Dark/Light personalities.

Tom/Angelina - Powerplay, where Angelina comes face to face with a powerful force. Something where Riddle posses a challenge to Angelina. The steamier, the better.

Also, as I am a musical person, I will offer up some song lyrics as prompts for inspiration. This is optional.

List of kinks, possible scenarios: I'm really fond of plausible Dark!Harry, plausible being the keyword there. I also like BDSM, especially in established relationships. I don't like Harry domming anyone, and I certainly don't like Tom submitting. I like sadistic, relatively sane, extremely intelligent Voldemort. I like a Voldemort who might be crazy now, but who it's understandable that people would be willing to follow. I don't like him to be all happy bunnies, though. People are understandably frightened of him. I really the Malfoys and Snape, as well, especially if they're in character. Snape isn't suddenly kind, and Lucius is charming but devoted to his family first and foremost. I really, really like character driven stories (if you're writing). But, yeah, kinks I like: BDSM (yum!!), established couple BDSM, noncon, dubcon, forced consent (see the pattern here), humiliation, not broken victims, hurt/comfort.

I don't want to see the DL submitting to anyone. I think that's a given, but just to make sure - he is a dominator. He was until the end. He will not have a secret submission kink. As for Tom, I will believe him topping from below, but only for a short while, or to gain something.

- Time-travel fics are love too, if they’re true to their era.

Also, overall, for fics, I really appreciate plot and character development/introspection, so something plotty and/or with human/emotional struggles, and a happy/hopeful ending would be brilliant.

man, i'd LOVE to join in, having enjoyed the exchange last year, but I'm currently swamped with other obligations. =( Can I be included though if any requests for Pinch Hitters go out- if I finish some of my other work on time, I'd be happy to help out in that way.

Generally speaking for pinch hitting, I'll do absolutely anything as far as art goes (no squicks). And for fics, I'm flexible- but I don't do harry/anyone-but-snape (unless in the past), and I cannot do straight PWP (plot is a must, and sex when applicable, is only to further plot, thus may not always be "hot").

List of kinks, possible scenarios: Kinks I like are your ususal pain/pleasure kinks- D/s, BDSM, non-con/dub-con, hair pulling, biting (definitely biting), you get the idea. I like my pr0n messy ;). I have a horrible weakness for mindfuck as well.
As far as the characters go, I like my Tom ruthless, dodgy Snape, Lucius as clever and mindfuck-y as possible and the Lestranges just plain crazy. I'm a bit torn on Harry, to be honest. I've enjoyed evil!Harry but I'm fairly fond of victim!Harry as well. I leave it up to you. I'm quite easily pleased, really.
List of squicks, no-nos: The only things I have a problem with are bodily fluids of the disgusting variety used as kink and romantic/fluffy Vols. Because, really, he isn't. Oh hell, I forget- mpreg will have me hiding under a rock before you can say morning sickness.

List of preferred pairings or characters: Voldemort/Harry, Voldemort/Dumbledore, Voldemort/Grindelwald, or just Voldemort. I like slash best, but gen is good too.
List of kinks, possible scenarios: Anything in wartime or dealing with wartime politics, either war Riddle was involved in. Say Voldemort wins and takes over the world, or possibly a look at some way he was involved/influenced with the muggle war that was going on in the 1940's, perhaps the final confrontation between Harry and Voldemort at the end of the second war, or Voldemort loses but is still alive and Harry's side has to figure out how to deal with him. Just a few examples. If you get an idea of your own, go with it. I like anything that takes into account the world around them, how powerful they are, and how they influence both sides of the war. I enjoy darkfic, i also enjoy humor (if you can pull it off, humorous!darkfic, hah).
On pairings:
I like Voldemort powerfully willed (whether he actually -has- physical/magical power or not). I like him both in Tom form or Voldemort form.
I like Harry not all-powerful or battle-hardened or whatnot. I definitely like him with ability he doesn't quite understand he has, however.
Both Grindelwald and Dumbledore i'm really fascinated with as they are. I don't like Dumbledore being completely manipulative/uncaring/power hungry, i think he's more Machiavellian, with genuine feelings and intentions...that go horribly wrong in the end.

List of squicks, no-nos: Fluff, ooc-ness, unrealistic or over the top torture, emo-ness. Basically as long as you give the characters some common sense and motive, i'm happy.

Would you like to receive an R/NC-17 rated gift? I most definitely would. Not required, but always a plus.

To start off, I really prefer Tom over Voldemort. So in general, I prefer time-travel fics, dream-scape fics, after-life fics, or generally fics that take place before Voldemort's first "death". Or Voldemort coming back in his original form... Basically anything that includes Tom rather than snale-looking Voldemort.

I am not against non-con or slave/tortute/BDSM fics (in fact, I'm rather partial) if that's where the story goes, as I know fics including Tom sometimes do. While I generally dislike AU's, I make exceptions for "Voldemort wins" (him as Tom, though, once again), especially in Tom/Ginny fics.

While I stated that I like one-sided, non-con and anything along those lines which doesn't necessarily need to include any emotion on his part, I also have a thing for Tom "love fics". Now, as you can see below, I don't like fluff or OOC, but I do believe that Tom is capable of feeling that emotion towards someone, even if in his own and twisted way and showing it in his own twisted ways. It can be lust or sick obsession, as long as it comes as close to "love" as it can for Tom. It can always be one-sided if you choose (especially if he makes someone to be his partner out of love who despises him), and I can see that concept of "love" more in the het relationships I requested (especially Tom/Ginny or Tom/Bellatrix), but in general, I find that an interesting concept.

When it comes to his DE (Snape, Lucius, Bella..) I do love a bit of a Master/Servant psychology, although it doesn't necessarily have to involve slave fics.

When it comes to gen, I love it when writers explore the significant parts of his life (first death, making Horcruxes, Hogwarts, first love, relationship with parents, becoming Voldemort, etc.) and analyze his psyche and the reasoning behind what he does and feels. It can be anything positive or negative, doesn't matter.

I love darkness and angst in fics, but, for pairings/events that aren't directly inserted into canon (like Tom's days at the orphanage etc or Diary!Tom/Ginny etc.), I prefer maybe a little more hopeful endings. Don't have to be "happy" endings, and can just end "good" for Tom (eg he gets who he lusts for even if he/she doesn't love him back). I would probably prefer it not to end with his death or death/murder or his partner/love interest if in pairings.

If Nagini, at any point, makes an appearance, it will make me happy, as I love her and she's a huge part of Tom. Just no Tom/Nagini in any romantic/erotic way, please.

List of squicks, no-nos: I dislike AUs (though I don't mind the "Voldemort wins" AU with some pairings as stated above). OOC and fluff. There is a big appeal in Voldemort's cruel, cold personality, and I like when that is maintained. Tom/Nagini. Rape of Tom. Sissy!fluffy!submissive Tom. Scat, blood play, breath play, gruesome murders.

Would you like to receive an R/NC-17 rated gift? Yes! Certainly! I love them, though of course don't require them if the plot doesn't take you there.

Pairings or characters I will not write/draw: I think I will be best writing all the pairing I requested (or gen) and nothing else, as I requested a whole bunch anyway. :)
