Spoilers and book thoughts behind the cut. Also a picture.
I read this book back in the 9th grade when a friend lent it to me. I just brought it again, and It was as good as I remembered... For about half the book. Be aware that there are spoilers in the review.
It's about a girl with a telekinetic/clairvoyance kind of power, in my opinion anyway.
Back of book-says nothing at all about the book, only raving reviews, that kinda sucks, because I use the back of books, to see a summary.
I absolutely loved the beginning parts with Clara, but I just cannot handle generation books, where it goes through generations of the family throught POV. It's translated from spanish which is Amazing, but I wanted the book to be only about Clara after a little while. That's how much I liked her. I love the writing style, Love the transitions, and mystery. I love Uncle Marco's silly ways. The expressive way of the book keeps me going until the absolute end.
What I don't like: When Clara's sister Rosa dies, and when Clara dies. The death of the people I absolutely adore! I would've loved to see more aboout them!! It only keeps me reading ravishly for about half the book. I'm proabably just mean that way, but I really liked Clara that way. Other people may and can overlook my fangirling over the interesting parts. (sorry)
On average I liked it. It's very imaginitive and classic.
