WHO: Lisa and Michael WHAT: Valentine's Day celebration WHERE: The shop RATING: PG STATUS: Done
Michael was new to the Valentine's Day thing. Well, at least in the sense that he was actually trying to get more than a good snog out of the deal. Heck, he wasn't even trying to get a good roll in the sack. No, he was experiencing Valentine's Day in a way he never had before. He wanted to make Lisa happy because her mere smile made him happy. His father teased him, saying Michael was definitely working on love's endorphins, but Michael didn't care. For once, he was ready to act like a grown-up and do what he needed to make his girl feel like the most special one on the planet...because, to Michael, she was.
He only hoped that she liked what he had in store for her. It had taken some doing, but the Weasleys allowed Michael to transform the shop into a small escape for the young couple. Michael ordered in, set up a special little table, and blared romantic music he didn't even know the name of, but his step-sister swore set the right tone on such a special day.
While she had been looking forward to Valentine's Day with Michael, she couldn't help wondering if he would say it back on such a romantic holiday. Although Teddy had suggested talking about it, Lisa thought that to talk about it on Valentine's Day was probably not the best thing to do. For now, she was going to be happy to be spending time with her boyfriend, even if she didn't know if he loved her yet.
Lisa had no idea what Michael had planned, but knew that she was to meet him at the Weasleys shop. For the occasion, Lisa wore a black dress and pinned her hair up. She wanted to look even more beautiful for the day. "Michael? Are you here?" Lisa asked when she got to the shop. She heard romantic music playing and followed the sound to the table that was set up of them. "Wow."
Michael thought it was even better than the time he surprised her with lunch at her job. He had worked hard on the surprise and was proud of it. He was dressed up also, in slacks, a button shirt and silk tie. It was mugglish with a side of wizard thrown in, just like Michael liked. "Here, love!" He beamed on seeing her. "You look gorgeous." He met her, kissing her gently on the lips.
Happily, Lisa kissed him back. "Thank you." She smirked. "You don't look so bad yourself. You clean up very well, Mr. Corner. Happy Valentine's Day!"
Before that year, Michael had always thought the holiday was rather silly. Really, who cared about hearts and chocolates? How did those make anyone feel special? And what about the rest of the year then? Nonetheless, Michael had to admit he was enjoying that particular Valentine's day. "You too, Miss Turpin." He took her hand, leading her to the overly larger bouquet of flowers he purchased for her. "I think they are properly gaudy."
She had to agree as she gave his hand a squeeze. They were beautiful and completely fitting for the occasion. "They really are. I think they are great and perfect and gaudy!" The urge to say 'I love you' was strong in her and she wanted to say it. The day itself was for love and that was the need to say it. However, she kept it inside her, vowing that before the end of the night she would say it no matter what.
Clearly pleased with himself, Michael wrapped his arms around her. He nuzzled her neck with his lips. "That's why you are my girl. You know gaudy."
Lisa giggled. "Exactly. And you know what I like. You're too good to me."
"Hmmm. Especially when I do this." He pretended to go in for a kiss, but pulled his face away at the last second and waved his hand over the table he set up. "See?" He asked, grinning wickedly.
Lisa gasped and then grinned. "You owe me a kiss, mister." She said as she looked at the table. "It's a great table. Shall we eat?"
Michael cocked his head, looking at her mischieveously. "Hmm, owe you? Now, you know what they say about making me do things..." He held out her chair just like his step-sister instructed. "Eating could be fun. For now," he added."
"No... what do they say?" Lisa smirked as she sat down in the chair. "I hope we can have lots of fun after eating."
"Obviously that I'm like a wild animal. You can't get me to do things by barking orders!" He laughed at himself. "Get it? Barking orders? Wild animals?"
Lisa laughed with him. "Yes, I get it. And I would never bark orders at you. Though, I do think you can be a wild animal at times."
"Hey!" Michael protested. "Keep this up and you will really hurt my feelings, you know."
"Sorry, I don't mean to hurt your feelings. I'll stop."
Michael snickered. "You don't seriously think you did, love, do you? I'm just teasing." He passed her some chicken. "Dig in, dig in."
Lisa shook her head and grinned. "No, I didn't." She took the chicken from him and put some on her plate. "Mm. Chicken. Seems great." After taking a few bites she said, "Tastes great too."
"About as good as I taste?" He snuck around the table and kissed her before running back to his seat, looking angelic like nothing happened.
"I don't know...." Lisa giggled. "I think you taste better."
"Then I should stay over here," Michael said wisely. "Lest we insult the cook."
"You should." Lisa told him.
"Going to be a longgggg night with me banished over here..."
"Well, only through dinner! If you hurry, then you won't be banished anymore."
Michael shoveled some food in his mouth and swallowed. "Well, don't make a bloke choke!"
Lisa laughed in between bites. "Merlin, Michael, not literally! I don't want you choking on me."
"Good, I thought you might miss me." He polished off his food. "Dessert is for much later," he informed her. "I got you enough chocolate to last to next year."
"I'd miss you a lot." Lisa had finished her dinner and went over to Michael and kissed him. "Mmm. Chocolate for an entire year? Wow."
Feeling a sense of contentment wash over him, Michael pulled Lisa into his lap, holding her close. Even just feeling her heart beat against his chest made him feel safe. "Well, you are worth it," he said after returning her kiss.
As she sat on his lap, Lisa wrapped her arms around his neck and felt very content. "I'm glad." She said before kissing him again.
Michael enjoyed their time for several moments; he soaked up her warmth and kisses with relish. However, his mind wandered back to Christmastime and something she had said. His heart pounded. Could it be true? "I love you," he whispered softly.
Did he just say what she thought he said? Those three words that she had been wanting to hear since she had said them herself at Christmas. She pulled away a little to look him in the eyes and couldn't help the grin that spread across her face. "I love you, too." Lisa began kissing him and ran her fingers through his hair. This was the most perfect day ever and she was so happy.
