Okay, I'll bite, mysterious Repose things. Pink clock crew, where you at?

[News: Antiguedades y Botanica]

[The antique store, which was previously (and quietly) owned and run by a very pale man with refined tastes, is very obviously under new management. The sign on the exterior now proclaims: Antiguedades y Botanica, but that isn't where the change ends. The clientele isn't the occasional estate lawyer and dedicated collector. Daily, new cars drive through to Repose to visit the store on the far end of town. These cars range from the most expensive models to nearly non-functioning vehicles. The people who enter the shop have varying shades of dark skin and speak with heavy accents. They come with families, and some arrive weeping, while others arrive wringing their hands and with hope in their eyes. They don't purchase furniture or tschotskes. Some come out with small religious statues held close to their chests, but most exit with paper bags clutched tightly in a hand. While their parents are inside, children run in the street and play on the grass. They are loud people, and they bring tributes of food that carry exotic scents on the summer breeze.]

What would you do if you could, if you hadn't done anything forever? Would it be small and comfortable, or exciting?

[From the car, after this, posted late in the evening. She thinks she should post to Audrey, and then maybe to Jamie, and maybe to Daniel (to thank him) and she ends up just...:]

I'm okay. Don't be trapped into being like everyone else.

Let's see. Today's Tarot card is The Five of Wands.

The image on the face of the Five of Wands is one of the most straightforward in the Tarot. Although there is always room for interpretation, the five men depicted on the card are obviously in conflict.Their raised wands are not being used as weapons but are stopping them from moving forward as they clash with one another.

When this card appears upright in a reading, it calls attention to disharmony in your life. You may be engaged in mental or physical warfare with those around you. This condition brings up feelings of contempt and anger in all those involved in the fighting.

So in essence this is the ultimate conflict card. Everyone is shouting and wanting to be heard, and there are so many different opinions being thrown about. But no-one is listening. It leads to a total break-down of communication and no forward movement without people lowering their guard.

Thanks for coming to my TED (Tarot Education Divinity) Talk.

There's an old piano here that hasn't been tuned in centuries and someone trying to play the Entertainer on it. I wonder if that's the definition of madness, or the method of delivering it to other people.

Where are the Nat Sherman’s here in Green Acres? Black and gold’s, Fantasia’s?

John & Kate +8 who own the hovel at the corner of gutter and haunted bookstore, don’t carry them. And I don’t feel like taking the scenic byway in an Uber with Freddy Krueger again, all the way to the capitol. He makes me want to vault out of his murky ford taurus, but this was a full-foil balayage, you understand.

I suppose it's time that I properly introduced myself.

I've been in town for a couple of months now, but never found time to introduce myself. I'm Dr. Adamson. I've taken a position at the Quiet Home to help those who live there. I do have a home by the lake, though I still need to take the time to settle in.

If there is anything that I can do for anyone, do not hesitate to let me know.

[Mean-Eyed Cat: Burden & Cass]

Who: Burden & Cass
What: Who knows?
Where: The Mean-Eyed Cat
When: An evening
Warnings/Rating: Doubtful

The Mean-Eyed Cat was plenty crowded, but that was normal given the time of year. Folks liked drowning their sorrows during the holiday season, and misery loved company. Tonight, it was warm in the wood-paneled space, and Burden was tending bar until closing.

He stood behind the counter, dressed unremarkable, his jean jacket shucked off hours ago and tucked beneath the bar. He was singing along with a real old classic as he poured one out for a girl in a sweater that wasn't thick enough for the weather outside. And he had a real good voice, did Burden. Pitch perfect and crystal clear, and that was evident even with the balls at the pool table clanking against each other.

Speaking of the pool table, there was a game going on there for money. Burden, he didn't so much as blink about it. He didn't see a thing wrong with it, and he wasn't afraid to toss folks out if they needed it. For now, he just kept an eye on the pool table as he filled drinks, and he switched songs when Johnny did, singing along just as pure. And he was watching, and don't you think he wasn't. Father Amos, he had a lot to say about this town, a lot of interest in the moving of demons here. There had even been whisperings of Hellhounds and a Hellgate, and, more recently, whispering about the Devil himself hanging out hereabouts. Burden, he reckoned if the Devil was willing to go to Georgia, then Repose probably wasn't real out of the question.
