Nora listened, committing the words to memory. Get as far away as possible, steal a car I'd she had to, tell the government about Zach. She felt that pang in her again, the feeling of guilt about leaving Zach and now about turning him in, but she tried to push it away. Even though this was the only place she really remembered and Zach was the only human relationship she could place in her memory, she had to go. She had to channel the fear of being alone and use it, not get lost in the fear of leaving the security of this place.
Taking a deep breath, she nodded and exhaled slowly again. "Is there anyone I should go to on the outside who might help? I mean...practically I have no money and no real clothes. Probably won't get too far looking like this." She could see the exit and her heart quickened, adrenaline fighting with guilt to format this noxious,nauseating little ball in her stomach.
