The approach of the other wolf - older wolf, she could tell that, though she had no idea why - put her on edge, but something in Marie got the message.
It was safer to stick with them than hide from them, they didn't care that they didn't know her, they wanted her there. The sense of welcome, belonging coursed through her, igniting wolf instincts to follow after the older one, stick closer to her side, but still behind, though again Marie wasn't sure if that was her instinct or the wolf's. It was one of the few instances were they craved the same thing that much she knew for sure.
How long had she been on her own? Marie had lost track of the days and weeks, just following the trail of where Nora had gone, without that person to care for her and keep an eye on her that she craved. Only now, maybe it wasn't as far off of a dream as she thought.
